Literally been doing it for 3 years now, not aesthetic at all, in-fact 98% of the same people I see tat the gym for the last 3 years aren't even aesthetic.
This lifting shit is all fucking genetics, 100% genetics.
Can't believe I fell for this shit. NOW I understand why steroid use is so rampant, you literally can't get "aesthetics" naturally, natural lifting is a fucking meme.
I see only words of truth. You should eat burgers to celebrate your epiphany
Cooper Jones
maybe eat more
Jace Diaz
Steroids should be reserved for serious lifters. If a person is taking steroids for a body, what goes up, must come down.
Also, exercising for a body is pretty shallow goal. I have been working out for 2+ months and still haven't reach my goals of doing a muscle up or planche pushup. I've been looking into rock climbing because it looks fun, and trying to improve my finger strength.
Think chicks really just want guys with a talent, whether it be music, sports, or engineering.
Carson Bell
Same OP, I tried to lift but I couldn't get fit either. It sucks that people are so obsessed with looks nowadays, because lift is so boring, literally lifting weights in a place crowded with normies, bad music, etc. I wish I could focus on something productive like music and still be showered in pussy.
>rock climbing patrician choice, i started climbing in highschool and was ottermode by the time i reached college without even lifting. also hell of a lot of fun, as long as you avoid injuries.
Asher Green
what's so fun about climbing rocks? is it a hard hobby to get into?
John Wright
nothing. it's risky and unfunny, it's more a facebook thing to show your friends how adventurous you are.
Dominic Adams
Wtf dude, after 2 months you already have the planche, and before the muscle up ?
If I read wront tell me, because people don't usually want to planche push up before having the planche.
Easton Foster
Fucking stupid. Guys like pic related cut right before their photoshoot. Most of the time they are less defined. If you ever achieved pic related aeathetics, it would only be temporary.
Levi Fisher
show a picture of yourself
Ryder Barnes
I said I have not yet, I'm trying to get there though. I know calisthenics are a meme, but it appeals to me for it's usefulness in being able to climb things.
Bentley Davis
>calisthenics, a meme
What ? It's been a year I train like one time a week, I injured myself because I was too stupid to take precautions, however I still unlocked Front lever, Straddle planche, Neckhold, Muscle up, and I'm enjoying, I'm fit not aesthetics, but bodybuilding isn't my goal.
Charles Rogers
its a fun way to get in to exercise because it provides a concrete numerical gauge of progress. very addictive, once you start trying to hit that next grade youll keep wanting to come back and get better. pretty easy to get into if u have a gym in ur town or live in a city, but not all places have a gym within a convenient distance.
t. never tried it >unfunny what hilarious hobbies are you into then? being mad on the internet doesnt sound very humorous
Gabriel Evans
/thread OP has a shit died and workout routine C O N F I R M E D
Are you actually pushing your body? If you're just counting to a number and stopping you're never going to get anywhere. Even in 5 years. Start actually training instead of just lifting and counting reps. You're going to feel so stupid that you wasted 3 years doing it all wrong. Also eat better shitter
Gavin Turner
Actually eat less.
Carter Phillips
>NOW I understand why steroid use is so rampant You say it like it's a bad thing. Eat clen tren hard anavar give up.
Adrian Harris
What does that entail exactly I think I'm doing it
Cameron Stewart
I want to lift, but I`m overwhelmed from the information. Pls give me just a list of what to do, ty bros
Elijah Turner
Post a beginner routine pls senpai
Tyler Gutierrez
Lift Eat Lift Eat Lift Eat >2-3 years later Eat Lift Roids Eat Lift ROids Eat Roids LIFt RODIS ROIDs
Coolio, but how do you get started? I started doing pull ups 2 days ago and wanted to die after like 2 to 3 pull ups.
What keeps you going? What morivates you?
Oliver Lewis
The fact you can do 2-3 pullups after starting 2 days ago is actually a good sign.
Most people can't even do 1 pullup after 1 year of lifting.
Josiah Walker
>Guys like pic related are all DRUGS & GENETICS. Pretty much, yes. The whole idea of bodybuilding is all fake, manufactured, contrived bullshit at every level.
>can do 6 pull-ups despite never lifting at all I AM THE GOD OF MANLETS
Angel Carter
Did you put your chin over the bar and did you do them slowly?
Cooper Sanchez
do push-ups. this probably sounds stupid, but before i started going to the gym, or even working out at home, i imagined like a sergeant yelling at me before bed, or before showers >15/20/30 PUSHUPS FAGGOT DO IT then i started to see some minor progress and the motivation to keep going came much easier.
Christopher Brown
You can't get aesthetic if your diet is shit ya dumb robot.
Gabriel Hughes
>What keeps you going? What morivates you? The fact that I'm gonna have a good looking body and you also feel amazing after workouts because your body release the same stuff that it releases when you use MDMA. Especially after hard workouts involving compound movements like squats or deadlifts you feel like flying.
Gavin Baker
You gotta get on that third world Africa manual labor routine.
Weight lifting is retarded, it's just a simulation. You need to do actual work. I'm talking get a huge crate full of fruit and haul it around on your back 5 miles. Or climb a bunch of steps with a huge bag of rice
Grayson Harris
>I'm talking get a huge crate full of fruit and haul it around on your back 5 miles. Or climb a bunch of steps with a huge bag of rice That's cardio. Build pyramids instead.
Bentley King
Yes.
And don't forget to do this. This is the only known exercise system in the world that exercises your head muscles
i've been lifting for coming up on 2 years. i'd say about 1 of those years has been lifting "seriously," as in really pushing myself to lift heavier.
i definitely put on muscle and i definitely got stronger, but i still look like shit. i seriously considered using steroids and actually bought some testosterone ethanate and researched the AI/PCT, but i didn't want to go through with it. risk of baldness, risk of acne, fucking with my hormone production, etc.
honestly i'm thinking about dropping down to doing a full body routine with dumbbells once a week and doing 45-60 minutes of cardio the other 3-4 days a week. it MIGHT preserve the muscle i built. if not, whatever. i don't care anymore -- i still look like shit.
Jace Richardson
pic related. 2 years of lifting with KEK GENETICS. (being a morbidly obese sedentary teenager and then taking up lifting in your mid 20s.)
I know that feel, fact is most people who lift look like shit. The people who look aesthetic aren't even doing anything different, EVERYONE does the same shit, the aesthetic guys just have genetics, thats the only difference.
You can see this by how all the aesthetic guys look like they've been lifting for 100 years within their first year of lifting, meanwhile 95% of other guys can't get anywhere and stay in perma-novice body looking.
Caleb Russell
do some pull ups, your back is tiny. You have droopy gyno nips from being fat though
Evan Rivera
i've been stuck at 1x10, 1x8, 1x6 drop sets of body weight pull ups for like 6 months now. i don't even care anymore.
Kayden Bailey
basically this. getting fit by lifting is fucking SCIENCE. if you have crap results, you're doing it wrong.
James Martinez
get your hormones checked user you might have an imbalance
Henry Green
I've been doing calisthenics since i was 13 and i look great user
Josiah Turner
pics of your body?
FUCK THIS ROBOT
Cooper Ross
>citation needed
I'm convinced
Wyatt Smith
bruh you just gotta lift more and b urself bruh bro
Wyatt Carter
>look like shit Your body is better than 95% of the male population.
It takes longer than 2 years to look swole. What is your OHP,Bench,Squat and Deadlift?
Adam Perry
It is obviously genetics but alot of people dont actually push themselves, its not about heavy weight if you want a good body, its about stressing your cns so your body has to cope by burning fat, so if your doing 10reps and its easy do 20 or only rest for very short space of time, or better do a different muscle groupso you arent resting at all , get yourself in a zone that is un comfy but bearable you should be sweating etc then you will get results it only takes 3 to 6months to completely transform your body the better genetics the faster results but the main thing is dont lie to yourself and drugs arent needed to look like op thats a lame excuse
Hudson Clark
most i ever did is 130 3x3 ohp, 185 3x3 bench, 250 3x5 squat. but i usually train in the 8-12 rep range.
Nathan Edwards
I've been saying this every single time bra just lift xd topics have come up. Congrats on taking the red pill.
Easton Barnes
No, you're just a lazy piece of shit who doesn't actually feel like putting any effort into it.
Go join the fat acceptance movement, and tell medical professionals about how you understand the workings of the human body better than the entire body of medical science does, you moron.
Xavier Johnson
If the devil appeared before you and dared you to say the dumbest shit you can possibly think of or else he'll eat your soul, anything you could come up with would be smarter than that post you just made.
Samuel Bell
It's hilarious because the only people who say shit like you do are precisely those people who ignore the medical science which explicitly states exactly OP's conclusions, among tons of others, such as the genetics of fat acquisition which your ilk constantly denies. My favorite part, as always, though, is this assumption that anyone who claims lifting is a meme must be fat, which is almost as hilarious as the very notion that lifting somehow helps lose fat at all compared to just eating one teaspoon's worth of food less per day.
Tyler Parker
You need to get your weights heavier and your body will follow. I've been lifting for 3+years and my muscles look larger than yours (granted I'm 5'8).
Genetics are a factor but you can still build a good body. 3 years is a long fucking time and you are nothing but a complete failure if you have no notable results after that long. I guarantee your routine and diet are absolute shit
Josiah Russell
>medical science which explicitly states exactly OP's conclusions
It doesn't.
>very notion that lifting somehow helps lose fat at all compared to just eating one teaspoon's worth of food less per day.
Yes, dieting and doing cardio is far more helpful for losing weight than lifting.
But OP didn't specifically talk about being fat. He wants to gain muscle. Which is something anyone can do, extremely rare cases aside.
Jaxon Sanchez
I never feel good after lifting.
Jordan Parker
You're just doing it wrong. really is that simple. Your growth is where someone should be 3 months in, not three years.
Evan Gray
>yes, doing the exact opposite of what medical science found was useful to lose weight is useful to lose weight Every. Single. Fucking. Time. Right on cue, without fail.
John Robinson
I'm willing to bet 3 years is actually 3 months
Isaiah Russell
>you're just doing it wrong yup, you got me.
Wyatt Fisher
I stated that dieting and cardiovascular exercise will help you lose weight. And according to you, medical science disproves this?
And OP didn't even talk about being fat once.
Zachary Anderson
The absolute COPE in this post. Yea buddy, I'm sure you looking like shit is 100% due to genetics outside of your control and has nothing to do with your shitty discipline, routine and diet. What a convenient excuse
Charles Johnson
If he wants to look like the guy on the pic, he has to eat less, but more of the right kind. Actually, I wouldn't recommend going for that aesthetic at all, because you have to participate in a unhealthy lifestyle in order to get that. Not sure if you're really starving yourself, but you're not beeing in perfect shape at all, from a health-focussed point of view.
Just do sports as you like, for yourself op. You may not look like that guy, but you're still getting fit. That overall improves your living conditions A LOT.
Eli Roberts
Keep assuming and projecting instead of basing yourself on facts and peer-reviewed science. You'll totally win the argument, buddy.
Thomas Carter
Not him, but I would be interested to see this peer-reviewed science that somehow proves that some people are incapable of growing muscle, or whatever the fuck your retarded argument is supposed to be.
Gabriel Johnson
A 6 pack is the result of low body fat, not a massive insane exercise and regime
Nolan Jackson
>not him >writes identically to him though really made me think there buddy.
Chase Martinez
And now you need to convince yourself that he's the only guy in this thread who can tell that you're a dimwit.
I guess that level of denial is a must-have, otherwise you would have to come to the conclusion that you are a fat piece of shit because you live your life like a fat piece of shit.
Nathaniel Anderson
Lifting for a year has gotten me from a 5/10 body to a 7/10 body. Returns diminish for sure but if I can reach an 8.5 over the next 2-3 years I'll be ecstatic. There's so much to be gained that everybody should at least try to lift, being discouraged before giving it a shot is selling yourself short.
Colton Lewis
Well, you need relatively sizable abs as well, otherwise it'll look like a thinpack, which has its merits but isn't considered a chad look.
Austin Thompson
Stfu you little fucking baby. That body can be attained naturally. You are just mad because you have probably spent 3 years of your life bro lifting on a meme diet.
Adrian Mitchell
You also need to eat less crap too. To have that kind of body requieres a very very low fat percentage.
Jaxon Edwards
What's stopping you from ordering some test-e and just cruising at a medium-low dose for the rest of your life?
>m-muh side effects even if they were as big of a deal as people think (they're not) why do you care? wouldn't you rather live a shorter life feeling like a god than staying in your mom's basement?
Isaiah Ward
Yep, took me about 5 years to realize this. I look pretty good, but OP pic just isn't possible without roids and good genetics.
If you go to Jow Forums they tell you to squat heavy. What they also fail to mention is that most people who do this require knee surgery before they turn 45. The same is true for most instances of heavy lifting. I do 10x10 now that I have realized that bodybuilder physique isn't possible natty.
William Lopez
You're a retard, start lifting right. Shit genetics might mean you'll need 3-5 years to get decent instead of 1-2. Now, if aesthetic for you means getting like the guy in your pic, you're doubly retarded. Gym will make you athletic/muscular, it's not magic
Logan Lewis
What, exactly, have you been doing? If you can't explain in detail you've been fucking around the entire time and literally know nothing.
Could be a problem.
You don't really know what you're talking about. Hypertrophy has nothing to do with going to failure.
Beginners should start with Stronglifts 5x5. Compound lifts are incredibly useful, and it'll get you into the habit of going to a gym.
Holy fucking broscience. Do you even know what you're training for and why? There is strength training, or, myofibrillated hypertrophy, which is about lifting 75% of 1RM. (Typically 5.) There is "size" training, or sarcoplasmic hyertrophy, which is about lifting 60% of 1RM. (Typically 8-12.) There is endurance training, which is really about adapting the CNS to some crazy shit.
If you want to be big, stick to sarcoplasmic hypertrophy and 3-4x8-12.
Asher Lewis
Are you eating enough? How do you know? Are you sleeping enough? How do you know? Are you consistent? What are you doing in each microcycle?
Elijah Jones
You should be hitting each muscle group x2 a week, at least.
A full body routine once a week will not help you at all. If you're going with full body, it should be x3 a week.
Dumbbells are useful for some exercises. You can't hit every muscle group with dumbbells. Do you have a barbell? Do you have cables? Do you have access to machines?
You're already very low bf%. What do you think cardio is going to do for you?
Alexander Campbell
Meant for Really questioning what the hell you've been doing this entire time.
Justin Sullivan
If you're not progressing, you're probably not eating enough.
You have been counting your calories and macros every day, right?
Matthew Rodriguez
Natural lifting is not a meme. You go to the gym regularly for a bit and get your msucle, and then after that for the rest of your life you work for the 0.1% gain increase. Just get your starter gains.
Austin Thompson
If you want to ask any questions and break any myths about strenght or hypertrophy training. Im willing to answer those questions and help you. Im for real. But I will be only checking this thread for alittle while, if no one asks anything i will do something else. I know im a bit lit to this thread but ask away, if its training, growing and eating related.
Matthew Rodriguez
non-OP skelly here. I'm looking to get any sort of chest definition going on, as I'm as flat as a board at the moment. How should I be going about it? I'd prefer keeping my slim frame, and as such bulking and cutting hasn't really been something I've considered.
Andrew Price
You have to bulk (eat at a surplus) to gain muscle. Bulking does not mean eating obscene amounts of junk. Google leangains.
Core chest exercises are the bench press and the flye.
Apart from fat from excess bulking, you literally cannot gain muscle too fast. Just watch the scale each week.
>thin arms >hidden chest >enormous gut >fat neck >thicc thighs >strong legs What kind of a mutant even am i? Help
Liam Gomez
leangains is something else, i guess the term used is 'lean bulk'
TDEE+300 + chest exercises.
if you're putting on weight too fast, decrease it. if you're not putting on any weight, increase it. consistency week after week.
Connor Mitchell
You can have muscles and still look like shit, like the guy who posted pics of himself. Looking good enough to where women actually notice you is steroids and some luck
Cameron Thompson
A short answer, but is very true for 97%+ of all population is this: Eat just a little more than what you have always done, since you say you are skelly and have that kind of lifestyle + genes that let you go about your life and keep being skelly.
So just eat alittle more WHILE you do BENCH PRESS and DUMBELL PRESS primarily. And primarily you do these excersises with many reps. Do them with a good teqniuqe and with as good RANGE OF MOTION as possible. (This is more important if you have never trained before, dont go too heavy, just ALOT of reps).
You can do other excercises that you see people do for their "chest" too, so to speak. But stick to those 2 first excersices and eat alittle more, just a tiny bit (eat alittle more everyday i must point out, not every third day or something).
Now, your chest will grow on its own by that but no one can guarentee how your chest will look like, that will your genes do. How your muscle is seated in your skeleton, how your base frame is (skeleton and ligaments). That will decide, but that is much later when you really actually have a chest, and not are a flatfuck. Then you will see how it looks as in "definition".
Cooper Johnson
The guy who posted pics of himself doesn't have much muscle at all. He also admitted he hasn't been progressing in his lifts. He has literally not been eating enough or training right. He'd look way better if he actually started putting on muscle.
When it comes to getting fucked by genetics in the muscles, it's shit like having a 4 pack instead of a 6 pack. 1/20 of you will have genuinely bad muscle genetics. 5/10 of you are claiming you do. get real.
Easton Miller
No but seriously fucking help, i'm new into lifting shit
Angel Phillips
he has a lot of arm and shoulder muscle, but no core and very little back and chest
Samuel Morgan
he only gave a half flex but his arms are 100% DYEL
13-14 inch guns, barely anything
Colton Baker
Blessed be, this was pretty much exactly what I've been looking for! Also another question, reps vs weight. Been getting a lot of conflicting info about the two, as is to be expected. You instructed a lot of reps, why is that? Purely due to getting clean technique? Anything I should know in the context of skellydom in specific? Should I care about this stuff? Not looking for the usual "Lift more, eat more and shut up"
Thank you in advance!
Dylan Myers
See what I laid out here: You want more definition, which is more size. So you'd want to lift in the 8-12 rep range. You'd pick a weight that's not too light that it's easy, but not too heavy that you're going to failure. Failure should be several reps away at 15, 16, etc.
This is just the "golden range" for hypertrophy (muscle growth) that has been established by science.
Adding to that, you'd want about 20 good sets of chest work a week, ideally with the chest being hit twice. So that's about 10 sets a workout. Do no more than 25 or you'll have a hard time with recovery.
Pick 3 exercises (barbell bench, dumbbell bench, dumbbell flye?), do 3 sets each twice a week, and you're basically there.
Andrew Ward
Looking like that is easier than you think, I look pretty similar.
Genetics play a part but I'd bet that your lack of progress is mostly from poor diet and behavior. You need to eat proper food in healthy intervals blah blah blah etc. There's a science to it.
