Getting my calorie count up

Hey Jow Forums I'm new to the whole fitness and good eating scene and most days I only eat 1000-1400 calories. Trainer states I should be on a 2200 calorie diet. Any tips on what to eat to reach my total?

all calories you consume are basically double-effective in the morning so just make sure to have a big breakfast

Alright, what foods would you recommend? I have oats but no recipes (plus I don't like mushy foods).

Just make sure the oats are activated. A lot of people aren't aware that you can activate other foods aside from just almonds.
Not liking mushy food is a good start. For hard muscles you want to consume hard foods. What does mushy food make you think of? Fat.

>Any tips on what to eat to reach my total?
You're asking the wrong question. Most people that have trouble getting to higher calorie goals should consider DRINKING calories.
Protein shakes are definitely your friend here. As for food, nuts and peanut butter are very calorically dense. You could consider putting peanut butter into your shakes as well.
Any other questions?

I like this answer, I've been making protein shakes but overall have been not using anything extra like peanut butter or nuts. Is there a recommended peanut butter you'd say to use. My biggest problem with most is the amount of sugar.

How do you activate oats?

>Is there a recommended peanut butter you'd say to use. My biggest problem with most is the amount of sugar.
That's basically the thing you should strive to avoid. There are natural and unsweetened peanut butters out there, just read the labels. Also, ignore
He's just trolling you for not reading the sticky. Oh, and you can toss oats into your shakes too.

Ah I've read it but not that deep thank you for the save on account of my ignorance.

Yup, see ya user. Godspeed. And get rid of the trainer.

...Double effective in the morning? Care to explain?

>Care to explain?
trolling

>I only eat 1000-1400 calories
why? i don't understand how this is possible. i struggle to eat less than 2700 with a 14 hour work day.

During the first two hours after waking up, your body is in a well-rested state which allows it to perform most biological processes more effectively than say, eight hours later when fatigue has started to set in. This is where the phrase "the early bird eats the corn" comes from.

put em in your bum for an hour

pro tip: make sure to retrieve em later

My TDEE is 3400, so I bulk at 4k. Drink more calories. I have a 1000 kcal shake every morning. Don't eat so clean either.

I barely hit 1500 calories as well. I skip breakfast because I'm not hungry in the morning and I don't want to force myself to eat.

then take this advice
if you're trying to gain weight that is

1000 calorie shake recipe?

OP here, I just don't get hungry and I don't keep food in the house that I'm not going to eat that day.

32oz whole milk
2 scoopz
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 banana

Used to add oats but they never mix right
