I take antibacterial hand wipes and clean a machine before and after I use it

Dont shower at the gym
Wipe down equipment before and after use

My liquid chalk has alcohol in it so im safe

stop living in shit hole country

Well ever since seeing people straight up cough on their palms and then lubricate the whole barbell with their bacteria plus seeing one PT come out from taking a shit straight out without washing his hands made me a hygene nazi. Especially since being aware of how often I touch my bottles mouthpiece and own mouth with the same fingers I had on the same spots those filthy cunts had.

Needles to say that I wash my hands like 10 times a day now

False. Even non-shithole countries have the occasional filthy fuck. The best way to avoid catching staph is to assess your gym's cleanliness. If your gym doesn't enforce strict hygiene rules and isn't being cleaned on the regular, change gyms ASAP. Wiping down equipment can only do so much.

Staph has been my biggest fear since Kevin Randleman died.

just dont be a pussy. I'm absolutely filthy in all things but I haven't gotten sick in years. Works wonders just not caring.

I get scared when I touch my dick to piss right after touching weights. Am I retarded for not washing my hands before pissing?

always, ALWAYS, wash your hands thuroughly with soap after lifting; do it every time you fill up you water bottle (if you can only fill it in the toilet) if you wanna be extra safe
possibly keep an alco-gel in your lifting bag
it's crazy how filthy gyms can be, the water that i wash off my hands is gray as fuck after a lifting session

I sanitize every handle of machine/DB/BB i'm going to be working with with anti-bacterial gel before using it
Quite autistic but better safe than sorry

>Especially since being aware of how often I touch my bottles mouthpiece
I was a retard when I first started going to gym. I used bottle like pic related and opened it with my hands like a dumbass. Same week I got small zits on my tongue. Thank got it passed.

Such an odd way to die.
Ive never seen someone with such an aggressive strain of Staph like Randalmann did. Let alone die from it.

Reminder
Handsoap does not kill MRSA
Disinfecting wipes do not kill MRSA
Hand sanitizer does not kill MRSA

You will only remove the weaker strains of bacteria on a surface leaving the MRSA behind as the dominant strain. This happens to your skin as well. Antibacterial products will kill the natural flora on your skin and leave you open to infection, making it more likely to actually contract a MRSA infection.

what do then? double my payers?

This didn't come off too well.

Any cuts you get clean them. There's a very high chance you have staphyloccus aureus living on your skin right now. It actually causing an infection is all down to opportunism.

This. Soap and water. Wash that shit.

in what way?

Use a non antibacterial soap, clean under your finger nails, and don't scratch yourself. Infections almost always set in from a break in the dermis, and itching an itchy patch of skin can be enough to cause it.

When you wash your hands you're scrubbing and rising your skin to physically remove dirt and contaminants from the surface. You're not counting on the soap to kill the bacteria, you're simply removing it. Don't use any harsh disinfecting products on your skin or any surface your skin touches.
Humans only stay alive because we have symbiotic relationships with hundreds of strains of various bacteria and fungi that comprise our natural flora. These bacteria supplement our own immune system by out competing other strains. Keeping them alive and healthy prevents other shit settling in.

Wash yourself with non anti bacterial soap. Use lotion to keep your skin moisturized, dry skin is just begging for an infection. Don't be a major germophobe or you'll just increase your chances of getting an infection. K

I love u

Holy shit

What about probiotic soaps/sprays etc.? Are they a meme?

>tfw caught staph in prison

Attached: zEQOhGP.jpg (720x537, 64K)

Most probiotic soaps aren't anything special, they're just a regular soap product with the exception of being ph balanced so they don't throw anything out of whack on the surface of your skin. In general the concept is perfectly fine, though some stuff out there is pure snake oil based on what they claim.

wipe equipment before and after use, don't bring an ipod lmao and bandaid/neosporin your cuts

Neosporin is one of the very worst things you could put on a wound, its been proven dozens of times to promote serious infections like MRSA.

Realtalk there. Ever since I experienced that shit I just open such bottles by pulling with my teeth and close it by pushing with my forearm against it. It might be a sweaty bodypart during workout but surely the only place which won't come into contact with equipment.

ALSO
I strongly suggest to have markings on your towels. Nothing worse than drying that sweat away from your face with the same side which touched the sweaty shitstain of some equipment there.

How so?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neomycin/polymyxin_B/bacitracin#Side_effects

Same reason why antibacterial soaps are bad. It kills weak bacteria that lives on your skin, and leaves stronger strains alive with all their competition wiped out so they grow and multiply like mad.

What if it's used sporadically?

i
home gym because germaphobe

I routinely wash my hands BEFORE pissing, and not afterwards.

My dick is perfectly clean and I don't piss on my hands. Don't want to be touching that piece of magnificence after touching dirty door handles and shit.

>once you get it, it stays in your body forever
That's absolutely false, staph infections are super common (think about normal foruncles). Worst case scenario you do a week of amoxicillin+clavulanic acid (or better yet, 1st or 2nd generation cephalosporins) and you're good to go

wtf that looks unreal. is there no way to treat it?

Your body can learn to keep it in check but it stays dormant in your body FOREVER.
You will infect others till the day you die.
You are basically gym-HIV positive.

>all these betas have such weak bacterial strains on their skin they fear some weak ass shit staphylococcus

SA is part of your natural flora, anons. People who get staph infections are people with weak strains of their own staphylococcus aureus.
You germophobes are the worst ones -you're literally like army-hating liberals who think they can surivive with no army of their own.

I've been walking around with broken skin almost all my life due to cats, tree bark, being an absent mided fool and growing past my own proprioception.

I've shoveled shit with bleeding wounds on my hands. I have a 7 inch scar on my shoulder from impaling myself in some broken tree brench while drunk and pissing in the bushes. I've cut open dirty skin on rusty nails, screws and rebar countless times.

Not a single infection that needed treatment and I've lived to see my offspring develop.

That was being treated, those pictures are super late stage of an infection. If you had a massive open wound like that untreated you'd be almost guaranteed to get sepsis. That shit would wind up in your blood so fast you'd be on your death bed in a couple days.
There are new drugs and treatment courses coming out to better deal with MRSA.

>wtf that looks unreal. is there no way to treat it?
how about not being a weak piece of shit in the first place?

no dude, there tons other infectious agents that do that (like toxoplasmosis and a shitton of viruses like herpes). It's simply not the case with staph, it's too virulent to do that, you either heal or die (rare in young people that are NOT hospitalized)

Unfortunately, that is talking about the development of resistant bacteria in the wild, not the chances of being infected by said bacteria.
Abstaining from using neosporin yourself isn't going to stop MRSA if everyone else is using it.
Keeping a wound clean and applying either petroleum jelly or neosporin and a bandage is still be best means to avoid infection.
Alcohol, iodine and peroxide will dry the wound kill the platelets and delay tissue regeneration.
The petroleum jelly (white petroleum) provides a substrate for platelets to grow into speeding tissue repair, and more importantly in the case of staph, starves the opportunist bacteria of oxygen. Staph is a facultative anaerobe, it can't grow without oxygen. This is why carriers don't get eaten alive by staph and only have problems when they get an ingrown hair, or cut.

>methicillin resistant staphylococcus aurea
>apparently resistant against everything
Don't be retarded, MRSA gets fucking annihilated by disinfection. (like nearly every other bacterium)
The only difference to the normal SAs are that it's resistant against a certain line of antibiotics and you're not cleaning your barbells with abs.

It's methicillin resistant. Other than its resistance to a certain line of antibiotics it is identical to other strains.

Antibiotics are cancer anyways.

This 10000x.

By using all kinds of antibacterial garbage and avoiding every possible bacterium you are weakening your own immune system and biome.

Guess who never gets sick? It's the dirty ass motherfucker who never showers.

>Kevin Randleman
It says he died from heart failure due to pneumonia?

What the fuck do you think causes pneumonia?

Protip: It's not sickness fairies.

But, his staph infection was from 2007 or so and he died in 2016. MMA fighters are usually the biggest threats for staph since they have body to body contact with people and are getting cut open regularly.

If someones been fighting long enough they may have contracted it once but, it doesn't mean they signed a death warrant.

Maybe he got reinfected again. I don't know.

>been going to this gym that is close to a dive bar
>cheap as fuck and maybe gets swept once every week
am i going to die Jow Forums?

We are all going to die, user.
Keep your cuts and scrapes clean and covered and you will be fine. More caution is warranted if you have skin conditions like folliculitis or cellulitis.

Staph heals m8. It wouldn't take 9 years off and "reinfect" in the same spot to kill you. If all you do is go to the gym all you have to do is not act like an inbred savage that walks around barefoot, take a shower after going, and don't walk around barefoot.

>see this thread, first time I hear about this shit
>suddenly notice a furuncle on my back
It's been a wild trip, see you in heaven bois

Grow up and get a home gym

Do I mitigate this shit if I mostly use free weights and place my towel on every bench I use? I should stop wipe my face with that towel first and foremost, use the paper tissues available, I pay a shit ton for this gym.

>furuncle
Now that is the shit you have to watch closely lest it turns into Whatever you do, don't try to squeeze it or lance it. The internal liner of those is weaker than the skin, so if it breaches, it will become a carbuncle. Nasty stuff.
See a doc if it suddenly gets bigger, spreads to adjacent spots, or lasts longer than a few weeks.

Pneumonia usually comes about as a complication of another disease. Even if a disease like staph or the flu doesn't directly cause a person's death, it can weaken the immune system to the point that pneumonia (an infection of the lungs) develops.

>barely ever use soap let alone antibacterial shit
>never had a serious infection
You germophobes are the ones causing these super bugs, you squeemish faggots.

This. Medfag here. A healthy microbiome of commensals is vital in preventing colonisation and infection from more sinister bacteria.

You guys are such pussies lol

the dirty ass motherfucker who never showers also never leaves his bachelor apartment to expose himself to outside bacteria.

>tfw I spray my hands with disinfectant after every couple of sets

my buddy got Mono from the gym once.

Fuck you OP now I'm gonna be using hand sanitizer between every exercise today

the problem is that i simply will not make food or wash my face or hair or body after i've been using dirty gym equipment full of hundreds of different peoples sweat, blood, or even poop or whatever nasty shit they may have touched before going to the gym
like imagine all the Jow Forumsizens who talk about swamp-ass and stuff, then they sit on the benches at the gym sweating that soggy sweat/poop combo

What brand?

What is the shit that grows on peoples faces or warts or bumps whatever the fuck people get on their faces. How do i prevent that shit? That is what i am worried about, i probably already have herpes from drinking from my gyms water fountain etc. All i give a shit about is warts and things like that.

Just don't let anyone take the barbell after you clean it the first time.

>like imagine all the Jow Forumsizens who talk about swamp-ass and stuff, then they sit on the benches at the gym sweating that soggy sweat/poop combo

So? Your flora is stronger than their weak ass MRSA shit or you're a s𝝾y consuming beta male that gets his ass beaten by other people who aren't even there anymore.

Welp I've decided I'm getting a bubble and turning into bubble boy
Who wants to play trivial pursuit?

>How do i prevent that shit?
Genetics, epigenetics and being infected by your parents while young.

Who dirtyboi here? I have been dirty most of my fucking life, got way better as i have got older but i use to be fucking disgusting when i was younger. I am talking not showering for a week, never washing my hands (still don't wash my hands after shitting or pissing will only wash hands in a public washroom if i got to touch doorknobs or if i am going to be cooking/preparing things for other people) feels fucking good. All the clean freak people i know all their kids and them are allergy ridden wrecks that get sick easily and when they do it is like they have TB or something.

I seriously believe there to be a correlation between parents who shelter the shit out of their kids in terms of cleanliness and them getting allergies/sick/being frail etc.

What about butt aids?

>Friendly reminder once you get it, it stays in your body forever.
No it doesn't wtf
I got it once in 2015, did a 2 week course of antibiotics and have been completely staph free since

do you consume food with the skin on your hand?
i was talking about stuff that you eat, and not wanting to put nasty body juices from other people on my face
if you fucked a girl in the ass, would you not clean your dick afterwards?

MRSA is literally only resistant to the type of penicillin that's more commonly used to treat staph
Other antibiotics work fine against it

Not sure who's winning in this

He died of a heart attack 2 years after the staph, completely unrelated
So many brainlets ITT looking for any excuse to scare themselves out of going to the gym

My gym has these small towels and spray bottles with some kinda low or high pH solution (i can't remember).
I feel like a pussy sometimes wiping down bars and benches, but I remember I stopped getting sick the same time I avoided directly touching bathroom door knobs and tried to touch my face less.

those sissy hygiene rules you ignore has literally saved millions of lives. Showering sparingly is one thing, but wash your hands you disgusting piece of shit.

just make your own instead of paying premium for nothing

>machine

How?

You should always wash your hands before and after going to the bathroom.

Think about what you've done between the time you showered and the time you take that second piss of the day
>made breakfast
>touched your doorknob
>touched your car door handle
>touched your steering wheel
>touched doorknobs at work
>touched your desk
>shook other people's hands at meetings (and who knows if they washed their hands since pissing?)
etc

Meanwhile your dick is safe and warm and clean in your underwear.

Is the flush handle clean?

...

...What?!

Did you really just ask that?!

Don't be a poor fuck who needs a gym membership. Save up and get your own weights, rack, bench and bars and just lift at home.
