I’m having some pain on the side of my right shoulder. It’s been on going for 8 weeks now. Originally bothered me the day after doing some log presses, hurt so bad I couldn’t squat. But I didn’t feel a pop or anything the day of. All pressing hurts, bench, ohp, dumbbells, etc. Rowing motions feel fine. My ROM is good, I can raise my arm fully over my head.

Anyone dealt with this before? Any suggestions?

Bench press is a cope meme for people who lack the muscle mass to lift weight that isn't bitch weight. Their total failure at being a Man leads them to do gimmicky bullshit with the shortest ROM possible, relatively little muscle mass, and no useful movement pattern for actual sports, all in all basically a glorified accessory exercise, and claim it matters. These dirt dwelling plebs are inherently scared of anything weighing over 400 lbs, due to abusive relationships with their incredibly overweight mothers.

Deadlifts, however, are the working class lift. A simple lift for simple people, there's no getting around the raw, feral strength required to deadlift well.

Squats are a combination of the greatest muscle mass, purest technical proficiency, and highest level of mental focus. Truly the King of exercise and the one, true Patrician lift, one must be not only strong but also in total physical control as one lowers the weight of the world into the hole, if they hope to recover, and not have their dreams of squat excellence literally crushed under unforgiving gravity. Your joints will be ground to dust and you’ll burn out quickly. Why not reduce to 2x a week with 60-80% intensity and plenty of volume, then you’ll build more muscle which will lend itself to better strength gains when you do a program with higher intensity in the future?

regular deadlifts are also cool, however my favorite variation, the snatch grip dl, kind of aggravates my knees and i'm thinking of scrapping it for now

Daily reminder you need to build muscle with high volume training before you increase its force output through higher intensity work. If you fail to build the muscle, you’ll waste your beginner gains on SS and hit the evermediate wall, which requires a good muscular foundation to get through. Then, fucking idiots from /plg/ will tell you to eat more and more, and you’ll wind up eating 4000+ calories a day, burning out every other week, and getting fatter and more disgusting by the day

Neuromuscular adaptations are the fastest when starting working out, everyone knows this. That’s why it’s possible to see people have 2x or 3x their squat for example after a few months of training. Take someone who’s trained for a few years and see if they can double their squat in the same time frame

rather, it's just that the initial adaptions to strength training come far quicker than later adaptations

if you train like garbage for 6 months then you're still gonna have some quick adaptations left in you if you haven't made the strength gains yet

The discussion was explicitly about post-beginner lifters. A fat load of volume is going to burn plenty of calories to start with, and then you probably still need to be gaining weight at a slow pace. At any rate, you wouldn't want to LOSE weight unless you were a super fat slob to start with.
