Thoughts on the Sauna? Is it a gimmick or what? 6'4/265 and fairly active & fairly strong, Looking to slowly trim down and been sitting for 30 minutes every other day with a mile or two run every other day. Is the sauna a gimmick? Any real benefit s?

>6'4
>265
Get your fat ass on the treadmill for 45 minutes twice a day and stop drinking soda/juice fatboi
saunas are for boomers and creepy old men. They feel nice but have zero benefits
You must be trollin
stresses that do not kill are good
cold
heat
fasting
good stuff , also meditation relieves stress
if your bodyfat is higher than 12%, you are wasting your time and should instead spend that time alternating 30s walking with 30s sprinting.
Well, I am the only younger guy in there but also the biggest. I make it a priority to avoid eye contact.
I use the sauna for about 20 min at the end of most workouts. Ive found that I am less sore and much more relaxed throughout the day and I love it and it forces you to drink more water to stay hydrated
oh 100% get those shock proteins
Also eat lots of elk meat for the benefits. Jamie pull up that video of the gorilla fisting the jaguar. These things are beasts.
Is there any actual benefits to using it after lifting? Does it aid in recovery after lifts?
That’s a seriously dumb question but I’ll bite. Yes it does. The heat helps relax the muscle and promote blood flow for better recovery. The same can be said for an ice bath or cold water though.
Just thinking through it, the heat dilates your blood vessels and promotes circulation, which should make recovery more optimal, muscles less sore, etc. More circulation means more nutrients get around the body quicker, more waste is dealt with quicker, etc.
>The same can be said for an ice bath or cold water though.
no dont take a cold showwer after lifting , wait 2 hours
Actually the opposite. Ice baths and cold water will constrict the blood vessels and reduce blood flow. However, they will also reduce inflammation.
Don't saunas fry your balls, which lowers test?
You’re completly right and I didn’t relate that properly to reducing inflammation.
>yeah i was speaking with a doctor the other day here on the podcast
>she mentioned heat-shock protein being released within the body from sauna exposure
>jaime, pull that up
>is that... is that a 800 pound gorilla?
>jesus christ those things'll rip you to shreds
Saunas are the shit, especially good if you have a cold water source nearby to dunk into
if you dont heat the fucking rocks to the max and stay in there ur doing everything wrong
They're pretty good, but it needs to be a real sauna, not just a hot room. Should be at least 180-200 °F
Get cold wet towel to put on your balls while in sauna
>mile or two
do you realize this burns like 100 calories?
I used to go to the sauna only because is mixed and I usually find more women than men there. But now I find it extremely relaxing.
That picture isn’t you OP, that’s Joe Rohan and he’s like 5’7
You fucking faggot Joe is like 6ft and would kick your pussyboy ass
Only an American would be this fuckin' stupid
I go from 15 mins in sauna straight to cold shower every day and it's done wonders for my skin condition. You also burn around 100 calories for every 15 mins in the sauna.
Inflammation is a key ingredient in signaling your body to put on more mass. Same reason why antioxidants and working out don't match: the reactive oxygen species generated through lifting are important signals to begin cellular waste disposal and muscle hypertrophy
Every time I walk by one I cry. A fucking hot room killed zyzz. What will it do to me?
Fill you with his spirit
Saunas are a great way to relax and open up pores in the skin.
If anything it would have a minor slowing effect on BMR, as you body is not having to burn energy to maintain your internal temperature.
Fatasses have been weighing themselves before and after the sauna for years, and claiming that they're losing weight. Of course, that's just water loss through sweat and any loss is regained with the first drink of water afterwards. If you want to lose weight, you should stop looking for ways to sit on your ass, and focus on moving.
