I want to try out being a vegetarian/vegan.
Does anyone have a guide on how to get enough protein while eating plant-based? Thanks.

It's impossible to get enough, we aren't fucking cows. Our bodies can't digest plants and the small amount we can we do it a lot more inefficiently than from animal based protein.
If you are insitant on being a retard, go vegetarian over vegan and put a lot of emphasis on eggs/raw milk if you can get it as well as fish (some vegetarians allow it).
Based on my moral standards, I would eat the fish, but not the milk or eggs. Also, milk and eggs are not plant-protein.
No one with morals and discipline on Jow Forums, apparently.
Just eat whole grains/legumes/veggies everyday, wheat and oats are 15% protein, green veggies 20-40%, beans are like 30-40%.
Whey protein, dummy. scoobysworkshop.com
Alright, thanks.
I know that broccoli and quinoa are great plant protein.
read the fucking sticky
Whey comes from milk, dumbass.
And even if I got pea protein, it's all made in China with lots of heavy metals included free of charge.
Basedbeans also have like half calories from protein if you haven't fallen for the basedboy meme
Onions (ironically) has a lot of protein.
Seitan aka wheat gluten
>hurrr durr being a spineless wimp means im disciplined
Fuck your morals
youtube.com
Morality shouldn’t be a thing when talking about health, fitness and well being. Enjoy being weak and malnourished.
Be sure to take roids while you are at it, only way to get big as a vegan.
Thanks for the (you)s, lads.
Based on you being a faggot, you’re never going to make it
>Vegetarian
cheese, dairy products such as quark and milk, eggs
>vegan
onions, beans, greens, lentils
There's more vegan protein sources than carnivone ones. Besides, meat is shit for your values and clogs up your system. Most red meat is brought up on high doses of antibiotics, which in turn will make your body resistant to it. Stick to fish if anything, even if alot of fish live and feed in waters with a high amount of mercury.
The best diet, based in what would be most readily available to you, is probably a vegan diet with fish oil. Indulge in meat for the taste once in awhile, but don't let it be a mainstay of your diet because contrary to popular belief; It's shit for you.
Look at Argentina where everyone eats meat and tell me they look healthy.
Semen. As a vegan, you'll find yourself sucking a lot of dicks, so you might as well just swallow the protein since it will already be in your mouth anyway.
Thanks for a serious answer.
I'll eat fish but not eggs because muh morals
Literally pea protein isolates in bulk, quite possibly the best protein powder in existance, not even whey isolate can compete specially flavoured protein powders that are filled with non nitrogenous compounds.
eggs/milk obviously aren't plant proteins, I'm saying if you go vegetarians instead of joining the vegan cult.
We are apex predators, start acting like one you little fucking sissy boy.
Red kidney beans
Black beans
Lentils
Chickpeas
Brown rice
Pasta
Leafy greens
Cruciferous Vegetables
Oatmeal
Fish do not have the mental capacity to suffer, the chickens that are forced into cages and lay the eggs can suffer.
Thanks.

"whole foods plant based vegan diet" is the ultimate fucking meme, it's like people just analysze the nutrient profile on specific food groups on a sheet of paper but literally disregard human digestion and metabolism.
The best vegan diet is a mix of nut/seed butters and protein powders.
Is that guy still alive?
If you such a genetic failure that you can't digest fucking vegetables, then you might as well kill yourself now
It is highly unethical. Being a vegan is basically same as peeing on your (grand)parents graves.
Don't do it.
>Fish are too dumb to suffer
>Chickens in cages are too smart to suffer
Meanhile, Paco the avacafo harvester will need to break his back by his 40's just to provide enough for his children to stay alive, just long enough to realize they will also work their entire lives and bodies into the ground to make sure you feel morally superior for not eating eggs.
Paco can quit at anytime, the chicken cannot choose whether it's being held in captivity or not.
What are you even talking about?
Then buy eggs from a local open farm, is that fucking hard for you?
Very hard to bulk, when I started eating animals, my lifts and bulk went smoothly, do no meat on a cut
anyone can digest vegetables, until most of their diet is literally vegetables.
>paco gets paid
>chicken gets the knife
see how retarded your post is?
furthermore who the fuck even buys avocados lmao, literally the biggest meme imagineable.
You know that's very expensive. I dont have the funds.
Just use protein powder. Whey if you're vegetarian. 60/40 rice/pea protein if you're vegan.
Didn't Scooby have one before? He had a completely vegan routine back in the day if I remember right. Either way, why a vegan? Morality?
Where did you get this morality to begin with? I bet it's from those new-agers who got their morality from Hinduism. Hindus believed in reincarnation, the reason they were vegan is they were worried that they would be eating their reincarnation human beings. In the end it's all about hurting fellow man.
It was never about hurting animals that inherently possessing a soul, they don't. Only humans do, so it's okay to kill animals for the good of man. Of course killing animals for pleasure is not good either, but that's because it sullies the human soul, and NOT because you're hurting an animal.
Avocados are amazing. It’s pretty ridiculous how white people just discovered they exist like 5 years ago lmao
You're making way too many assumptions about my character for me to see it as worth it to explain my viewpoint.
>Pasta
You do realize that normal pasta contains eggs, right?
I didn't make any assumptions about your character. You're probably a good person. I assumed where you got your morality from, from new agers, who got it from Hinduism, a religion which assumed a Divine source of morality. If I was wrong, then where do you get your morality from?
Stoicism. That virtue is the only good.
If I can feed myself perfectly fine without eating meat, why should I kill an animal just so I can have something so superfluous as a different flavor of food?
Not to mention delicious slave labor. Why go vegan if you're ignoring human suffering as well? That's something I never hear vegans going on about while they're shopping for their mass-produced hemp clothes or onions products. The people that make the shit they love so much because it's "animal cruelty free" impacts people as dumb as the animals they so desperately claim "don't have a voice". It's the same damn thing, but they can feel better about themselves for some fucking reason. You think the poor farmers in ching-chong-land give a rat's ass about killing the vermin in their fields or displacing entire ecosystems of animals so they can farm that precious onions? Fuck no.
Virtue being the only good is so vague, I can say that eating an animal is virtuous. As a matter of fact, many cultures believe that.
So I'm just going to assume your veganism doesn't have to do anything with morality. Then sure, you can live a completely vegan life: mean, stoicism is so vague it can also be considered some sort of masochism. So depriving yourself of things good for your health is completely coherent with your worldview.
Those humans have made the choice to be slaves.
It would take way too long to give the stoic definition on virtue, so I'll recommend you read Seneca's "Letters from a Stoic"
It's not superfluous because it's not about flavor. It's calorie dense, readily available, low carb, and high protein with complete protein chains that are more difficult and more expensive (pound for pound) to get elsewhere. Do you take into consideration the suffering of the animals when you consume foods that require massive plots of land, clearcutting forests, pollution from fertilizer runoff (chemical fertilizers are the leading cause of ocean "dead zones"), and pest control? That's just for the food you eat, not the clothes you wear, the things shipped to you from shopping online, the electronics you use, the house you live in...All use fuel, factories, space, etc. All are harmful to ecosystems and cause suffering to animals for human comfort and convenience.
I'm not saying you should change any of that, but your diet is quite possibly the least impactful thing you do to cause suffering to animals. It's just most convenient to change it and feel smug.
They really haven't, hence they're "slaves" and not "free". A subtle distinction, I know, but there's a difference to those that have studied such matters...
Are you fucking high?
Is he retarded? How does he think cows and pigs get fed? It would only make sense if he thinks the only meat we should eat is wild game.
can you give me a logical reason as to why you would eat the fish over other meats? or do you just have a hunch that fish arent intelligent?
or we do other things than sit around wondering how my steak felt as it was eating free corn in its pasture
I thought you were speaking of slaves in the symbolic sense. That they have the option to stop working, but decide not to.
Ruining an animal's habitat is still better than keeping it in a cage and forcefeeding it until it dies. And I could purchase vegetables not made with harmful pesticides, but I see your point.
Fish don't have the mental capacity to feel pain or be tortured. Chickens, for example, will peck eachother to death when kept in captivity too long.
best post on Jow Forums in a while
Even "symbolic slaves" have the ogres choice, user. They work for barely a wage, or they starve to death. That's why sweatshops are a big deal. Pesticides are all harmful. There's no way to farm without them. Ruining an animal's habitat leads to starvation and extinction and happens on a greater scale than mere livestock farms. You're cherrypicking what suffering to show disdain for, while ignoring your own contributions. Again, it's easy to feel smug about doing the easy thing instead of taking a real look at your impact.
This. If I ate nothing but local beef for every meal I would still be causing an order of magnitude less animal suffering than your average vegan does through collateral damage to the ecosystem.
Im vegan
My best friends parents whom i called uncle and auntie have known this for years, they used to just do the typical light hearted ribbing, (which i dont mind at all and actually find funny) and they even adjusted meals for me anytime they had us over for whatever reason, but when I brought my fellow vegan girlfriend (whom they also knew was vegan) over to introduce them, they decided it to serve us breaded eggplant
So of course we ate it up (it was delicious) and then once we were having coffee during desert they revealed to us that the eggplant (which I thought looked a bit off even at that time) was in fact fried chicken, they both including my friend started belching with laughter, my girlfriend left the room crying hysterically as the room then went silent and i went pale and my eyes dilated with rage, never had I anticipated they would ever do something so heinous to me and my significant other, i went berserk and threw my chair against the wall, they were stunned and i ran out with my girlfriend (since broken up almost entirely because of this debacle)
My “auntie and uncle” later sorrowfully called and claimed they were joking and even sent pictures of them cooking eggplant, not chicken, on that night, I wasn’t having it and cut off communication with all of them since (6 months now)
In short, if you see something you don’t think you’ll want or are suspect of it - Don’t eat it.
Is this Reddit?
If that was actually chicken, they're massive dicks.
If it wasn't, they're kinda dicks but you seem to have overreacted.
Two serious questions though. One, who would take photos of themselves cooking chicken or anything else? Second, how did you not know it was not eggplant? I mean I get you may not ever have eaten chicken or meat before, but the texture and taste is way more than a little off compared to eggplant? It's also odd to me that they would change meals to accommodate you and then hide meat in the meal.
Not calling you a liar, it just seems weird to me.
I know everyone that's actually trying to help has said beans already, but I just also wanted to hit home the fact of how important beans are.
I'm vegan, I get around 120g of protein per day (fuck whey protein company shills that say you need 1G/LB of body weight) eating mostly beans, I eat at least 2 cans of beans per day. literally never felt better and making amazing gains.
This is quite possibly the dumbest thing I’ve ever read.
wow meatniggers are dumb

are you retarded or just buying american "noodles"
>the reason they were vegan is they were worried that they would be eating their reincarnation human beings
wrong its because they belive all things are basicly god, and animals are a high level of evolution to say plants and thus would be more harmful, and inauspicious, they also belive some crap about when they eat the animal they are absorbing its life force and fear and anger ect ect it can go atlot deeper, its probly also due to back in the day, meat wasnt as easily obtained and had a high chance not being prepared properly and to avoid illness and death they just scraped it altogether, much like muslims and jews with pigs somthing to do with them having a virus that would cause alot of illness and death to the consumers and so they dropped it altogether
>Look at Argentina where everyone eats meat and tell me they look healthy.
we do look healthy chilean faggot
so, let me get this, if i design a chiken that can't feel pain it would be ok for you to eat it?
never heard this level of retardation, muh moral my ass
>Fish do not have the mental capacity to suffer
citation needed. the only difference is that you have more in common genetically with mammals and birds so you empathize with them more
>eating vegetables makes me bloated
yeah, do it for more than 1 meal and then your microbiome becomes normal
Vegetarian - dairy eggs and scoops
Vegan - tofu spirulina and vegan scoops
easy af
This isn’t even difficult, everyone here is overcomplicating this and I don’t know why. Just eat calorie/protein dense foods. Smoothies help a lot, it isn’t too hard to get 1500cals in a smoothie, and you can add protein powder if you want. Aside from powder, lentils, beans, seeds, and tofu are all great. Don’t overthink it, do what you did before you were vegan, but with vegan food. Track your calories if you need to while bulking, because it can get too easy to lose weight if you just eat fruits and veggies.
try 3 months of eating only grains, legumes, vegetables, fruits and then tell me what your gut feels like
100% garantee most people recommending those foodgroups never actually did this themselves
I have, literally shit digestion, constant bloat, gas, leaky gut, brainfog, low energy and diarrhea.
The longest living nation in the world is hong kong, and they also have the highest meat consumption per capita in the world.
those are egg noodles, not actual pasta
pea protein isolate is the least contaminated protein powder there is, specially unflavoured, and has the highest ammount of nitrogenous amino acids per scoop
I think you should go see a doctor, user.
I've been vegetarian all my life and don't have any of these problems.
real talk, can anyone recommend some good vegetarian recipes for bulking?
i know what basic foods you should use (rice, beans, tofu, cheese, eggs, ....) but it would be nice to get an example of how to combine them in a recipe that tastes good
you realise that not everyone eats avocados, right? you could easily say the same thing about anyone who works on a farm, so that the animals you eat could eat onions, or it could be even said about people who keep animals.
t. murrican
italian pasta does not have eggs, and there's a lot of asian pasta without eggs as well, made of beans or rice
you can get some nice protein pasta, made of beans, red lentils or chickpeas, and then use it in place of normal pasta.
lentils with rice with curry, cumin, peppers and so on
rice with fried vegetables and lots of tofu
pasta with tomato sauce, beans, green peas, and corn
tortillas with salad, tomatoes, onion and tofu.
lots of hummus and peanut butter
>implying that people who work in slaughterhouses are treated fairly
>be me
>go full vegan for a year
>get crippling depression
>no gains whatsoever
>go back to vegetarian, feeling better
>start eating more meat and animal products
>feeling great, good gains
Don't fall for the vegan meme. Just eat meat sparingly and you'll be fine.
If you're not memeing go with legumes. Lentils mostly. They cook pretty fast and are 50% protein 50% crabs.
I ask everyone to please stop replying to the trolls that inevitably come to every fucking vegan thread to derail the conversation. You're playing their game. Report, and move on
what sort of consumerist shit hole do you live in?
Animal farming does way, way more damage to the environment than vegetable crops. Also a substantial amount of crops go to feed animals. So...
you might have god tier digestion
but are you seriously telling me legumes, grains and vegetables give you 0 digestion related discomfort? not evne gas or bloat? No runny shits 3-5x a day?
I find that hard to believe
You cannot sustain the world's population on local/free range stuff, industrial farming is inevitable. Crops will always more efficient, less polluting, and you'd need a lot less since a lot of it currently goes to feed animals.
this is
> if you were stranded on a desert island would you eat animals
tier retardation
We're dealing with the real world here.
Don't fall for the "whole foods" meme
Specially as a vegan, the best way to put on muscle is to eat plant foods in their most processed form so that you don't end up like a bloated mess of a sow.
Peanut butter, almond butter, sunflower seed butter, sesame seed butter for calories and a good ammount of minerals and protein.
Pea protein for your amino acids and vitamin K,A,C,D, omega 3's(yeah, peap rotein isolate has a bunch of nutrients much more dense per g than in actual peas) and a fuckton of other trace nutrients.
I literally eat peanut butter+pea protein ice cream every fucking meal and my digestion, mood, energy, performance and recovery are off the charts.
0 need to cook anything too.
Take the nut/seed+pea protein pill.
simple
buy vegan protein powder
you dumbass
Personally I've never had brainfog from veggies or anything on that list. The only thing I ever got it from was dairy in general, and cheese in particular.
You would also die if you ate nothing but beef.
>thinking chicken have a mental capacity for anything.
Let say you had a chicken barn and there was a hole in the roof. Now let say this whole allowed a ray of light to make it to the ground of the barn, leaving a spot of light on the ground like some laser pointer.
Well your chickens would peck at that round of light until they all died of starvation, even if there was food right next to them. That's how retarded chicken can be. Now I'm just saying personnally I wouldn't sacrifice my gains to prioritize the life of something as retarded as that.
>Fish do not have the mental capacity to suffer
There's tens of thousands of different species of fish with a wide variety of traits, and that's not even counting the other animals that are eaten as seafood such as crustaceans, molluscs, etc.. That's like saying mammals aren't capable of emotion.
Dairy is the best non meat protein source.
After that would be like peas I guess.
I think it's interesting
In human, wide eye is seen as a sign of high testosterone, increased width leads to increased depth perception, making for a better hunter.
In prey, wideset eyes is to give increased field of view.
I guess it's just helpful in the wild
sciencedaily.com
not that guy, and not a vegan/vegetarian.
fish lack neocortexes and what they experience can not be compared to pain as felt by mammals, to compare what fish feel to pain is as good as comparing a plant's supposed "pain"
chickens and birds have much more similar brains and very similar receptors, while responding to pain in a similar way as mammals and humans.
