If you can't squat it's a waste of time.
Yes. Only gymcels squat, chads always skip leg day.
if you want a home gym get
>olympic barbell and plates
>squat rack(stands if youre poor)
>bench
in that order. will probably cost more than $150 tho
Yes, a bench, a barbell, and some dumbells is enough to work almost every muscle group. The only difficult thing will be hitting legs, you will want to get a reasonably priced used squat rack as well.
He can get around this issue with zercher squats or steinborn squats for some time, but yes OP should get a squat rack in the long run. Then he is good to go
alright
thanks guys ill look around for a squat rack
in addition to this thing
Just front squat
I mean you could high bar squat and learn how to properly dip from it and have no problem.
but you'd need a rubber mat for your floor and you can't bench without a spotter so you seriously have to get a squat rack.
>steinborn squats
do people still do that?
lol why do people buy olympic bars, are u training for they olympics arny
Only if they have no squat racks or are suicidal, but it's an alternative for low weight
This is all that I have plus a pull-up bar. I bike and run for legs and cardio and I’ll probably add a dip station soon and maybe a decline bench for sit-ups. I look better than 99% of fit.
Yes you can. Now, is it gonna be effective? Most definitely not.
Get a cage that has dips and pullup bars as well as a decent adjustable bench. You can do most exercises actually worth your time with just that.
Now I'm curious. Post body including legs
Ay my nigga
Pretty much my setup. Why do you have two ab wheels though?
Fuck no, that's a waste of money. You want
>squat rack, cage, or stands depending on what you can fit/afford
>OLYMPIC barbell
>plates
>bench (at least a flat bench, but adjustable if you want to spend more)
>horse stall mat so you don't destroy your foundation
What's the point of these dedicated fixed benches? you can literally only do bench with them. At least with a rack you can do plenty of stuff in it and you can always do benching too if you pull up a standalone bench
>steinborn squats
Man, I tried doing those fucking things during this one school rotation where I was temporarily staying down at my parents house and had to use a minimalist setup of just the bar and plates. What a fucking joke. Only way you're going to be able to properly set those up is if it's babby weight, in which case you can just clean and do front squats (which is what I did instead)

man up pussy
You can't squat.
Get a small rack and an unattached flat bench, then bench inna rack.
I have something like pic related
>squat rack just off frame
why though
Look at how fucking sketchy that first rep was. Doing this on a regular basis at high weight is a perfect way to take a one-way ticket to snap city.
this is exactly what i did. cost me about 250 bongs

Not if you know what you are doing.
That's pretty good. Home gym cost me about 800 dollars. Of course, almost half of that was the cost of just the iron plates, but yeah.
This is fine. A starter set.
You cannot squat. But if you come from the rear and flip those bench press pegs around you should be able to Front Squat. Try it.
Just be careful my friend. And start saving for better equipment in a year or two. Power rack, bench, Olympic bar and weights.
>>Powertec
My nigga
What is the deal with these shag rugs on tile floor under the bench? Are you a europe? Horse stall mats will save that floor sirs.
Why do non-olympic bars even fucking exist? I swear to god they only exist as a shady scam to jew people into accidentally getting a """"standard"""" bar and then needing to buy a 2nd bar after they find out that the bars seen 99% of the time are "non-standard"
glorious
Do front squats either by picking it up off the bench or cleaning it from the ground. You don't HAVE to so 5 reps of heavy squats. If the weight is too heavy to pick up with your setup, just drop the weight and do more reps. SIMPLE
post body
>bike and run for legs
lol, this mother fucker looks like a distance runner. Weak as shit
>Tiled floor
oh boy buddy
Would something like this work? I know it’s not bench for benching but it’s like half as much as a decent adjustable bench
I just an adjustable bench but it cost about double that. There's no problem with using that so long as you can find the part where it lists the weight limit and you're in the clear (remember that the limit should be greater than what you (want to) bench PLUS your bodyweight)
>(remember that the limit should be greater than what you (want to) bench PLUS your bodyweight)
search for the word capacity. 500 lbs
it is all cheap shit for the newbies who are learning. but seriously they should stop selling them altogether.
why adjustable? so he can incline? no need just do normal bench.
I never said he should get an adjustable bench. I was just saying that it's what I personally own.
You can find benches with squat functionality. Look for that...be sure to get some padding for your floor
this
So he can form a human motorcycle and go vroom vroom around his home gym
forgot other pic
I cannot believe some of the shit-tier advice in this thread. Take it from someone who started off with a small rack and a 19-in-one bench and all that crap: buy nice or buy twice. Get either a rack/cage or a GOOD set of squat stands (ideally with spotter catchers, like Rogue's SML series); an Olympic bar; and a good bench. (A solid flat bench is better than a shit adjustable bench.) You'll also want really good matting. It's sometimes called stall matting; it'll be heavy but it'll protect your floors. (EVA foam is shit.)
You will eventually decapitate yourself with that setup. You need a cage for safety.
You're really set, if you have weights to overload muscles, then you're fine, even if its just heavy dumbells. Just Scooby mode everything, he has a lot of videos about using minimal equipment (like shitty hotel gyms). You're only missing som leg stuff, cop a hex bar (only like $99) and you can blast your legs and complete a very solid home gym.
Also get ab wheel/ other core accessory.
