>putting a heavy metal bar on your back
I have no idea why it might do that.

picture without the circle to give a better view
Ethan Ramirez
It just leaves a hickey, showing that it enjoyed it's time taking you from behind butterboy.
Ian Harris
yeah but most other lifters don't get a full on scabby lump where the bar rests?
Joshua Evans
confirmed bar is a dirty fag
Brandon Hughes
closer view
Caleb Thompson
yeah i wonder
Mason Gray
it's definitely synthol I mean look at this guy he's not natty
Ryan Reed
Bad form. Correct, use pussy padding, or switch to low bar.
Logan Johnson
it's clearly not bad form kek
Dylan Ward
Because you have a bar on your nape, m8. I have a callus between my traps as well
Parker Brown
post legs
Joshua Torres
ah so low bar is the only solution?
Jace Myers
You have to put the bar on your traps, not the vertebra. And use a towel or padding.
Isaac Parker
I can squat 120kg x 5 highbar arse to grass op here
Landon Thompson
Closer/tighter grip makes a sorta "shelf" where you can rest the bar and avoid it pinching into your spine. This is even more important for high bar which OP is clearly doing
Nathan Watson
U gotta lay the bar on your traps not your spine bro
David Rogers
but the lump is between my traps that's what I don't understand?
Jace Gutierrez
I can only imagine for how long you have been hurting your neck before you realized something was wrong
Jose Gonzalez
>no calves
why live?
Josiah Morgan
ah this is where I'm going wrong then I have a pretty wide grip about where I bench I'll hold narrower
Ethan Evans
it doesn't and has never hurt at all that's the strangest thing about it desu
Asher Ortiz
my claves could be better but I'm not really fussed kek
Isaac James
The grip should feel tight, without being painful. As in, your arms and upper back are braced not only from the bar weight, but also from the sideways tension from your grip
Hunter Cooper
could another problem be my traps aren't big enough to hold so much weight? so basically I need to push into the bar not have such a passive grip?
Blake King
Kayden Foster
I suppose, but I prefer highbar so I just do it and don't mind having the spot.
It's not on the spine. Get your eyes checked.
Jaxon Morris
wow thank you that video is extremely helpful according to this it'll actually holding back my squat!
Tyler Phillips
I got those when i first started squatting
Now ive got decent enough traps to help cushoin the bar and i dont see those marks anymore
Connor Young
forgot to add we can still do high bar
Mason Torres
Thats almost exactly my build user
Fuck why is it so hard to build calves
Logan Gutierrez
do my traps look to small? this would be the sort of position I'll be in while squatting
Austin Ramirez
I got big traps and I still get the mark on my upper back. Or rather I get two marks because the crease between the traps doesn't touch the bar. Doesn't really bother me though
Nicholas Price
I know it's so fucking annoying kek recently started running 2x a week and noticed a big improvement in size and definition
Samuel Howard
yes its very strange do you know others in your gym that have this issue?
Dominic Mitchell
No thats a pretty good size, idk then, do you know if you squat high bar or low bar? If nothing else you can do what i do sometimes and wear a hoodie, gives me lots of cushoin with my traps and see if that helps
Asher Taylor
I dont do cardio, im on a bulk power lifting progran to try to get my major compound lifts up quickly
Do you think just doing calve raises would help, like just 100 lbs but then like 25 reps?
Samuel Jackson
oh ok good
I do high bar but I'm trying to transition to low for this reason also I get to hot for a hoodie
Jackson Jones
same bro I also am training for power lifting style training I've found upping calories and doing cardio is over all beneficial if you can fit it in
calf raiser's would certainly help but for me they never did much
Nathan Anderson
>120x5
>impressive
typical arrogance, it is no use discussing with you if you will shut down any criticism straight up. so why ask for help if you dont want to hear that you are doing something wrong ? whatever I am done with this thread, with that attitude you deserve to fuck up your back..
Ayden Reed
I didnt want someone to tell me the truth, i knew sooner or later id have to start doing cardio, i just didnt want it to be running because i got knee problems, nothing crazy but everyone once in a while when im squatting i can really feel them strain
Christopher Hernandez
Damn user wheres all the hostility coming from hes just telling us his lifts so we have a frame of reference, i dont think he was trying to be arrogant
Aaron Hall
>I can squat 120kg x 5
why are you bragging about that?
you're probably putting the bar on your fucking neck, you're meant to squeeze shoulder blades together and rest it on your upper traps and rear delts. it also could be a posture thing, probably excessive APT and forward head posture.
Ethan Ramirez
Implying 120kg x5 is hard to achieve
TFW haven't squatted in 7 months but I could rep that out
Asher Carter
I can't tell if this is an ironic troll?...
but if I was being arrogant I would have cropped out my calves kek
just thought I'd say my over all form is decent i think it's pretty much sorted now though closer grip is needed
Aaron Sanders
But also, you're form is fucked. I used to get the same shit before I stopped being a faggot and dialed in my form. It shouldn't just sit with all its pressure on your neck, or be that high up at all for that matter. You're entire body supports that bar and your arms and back need to stay tight as fuck throughout the entire lift. Go to a Powerlifting gym, see if the coaches anyone can give you some pointers on what you're doing wrong. Do not go to a commercial gym with its own shitty trainers as most have ligma.
Noah Hughes
ah ok if you look at the latest research impact cardio is actually good for joint health, but honestly running works all your stabilizer in knees, hips and core that often aren't used in lifting. although that being said avoid concrete run on grass if you can
Isaiah Morgan
I'm not bragging just giving a point of reference.
I definitely wouldn't be able to get it on my delta doing high bar posture is a possibility
Jeremiah Martin
genuinely useful advice thank you
Austin Thomas
post body chatting shit like that
