My absolute favorite would be Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis. I guess 'safe' ones I like would maybe be Deadman Wonderland and Psycho-Pass? My worst fear is I'm going to blurt something retarded like DearS, Cat Planet Cuties, or Heaven's Lost Property. Definitely can't mention Dance in the Vampire Bund because then they're going to think I get off to little girls at first sight. I don't even think Magical Girl Raising Project would be a good one. There's Chobits, but that one can weird people out due to the 'incest' aspect with Freya. I really like Hyper Police, but that one can also be over the top. Azumanga Daioh, Mnemosyne, Death Parade, Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei, Haibane Renmei, Vampire Knight, Monster, XXXholic, Lucky Star, Dead Leaves, Zoids, Elfen Leid, Diabolik Lovers, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust... Black Butler's circus arc was pretty good although I didn't like the rest of the series. Those are just some that come to mind first thing. There's a bunch. You know how it is, you start watching so many that they kind of all blend together. Fuck, I even liked Kemono Friends. There's more... I'll stop there.

I want to say these things when they ask, but I just hang up for some reason. I know they want to talk about the cool fighting anime usually. I guess Dragon Maid was pretty good. I suppose I could say that one.

I did like some of Mushishi, but it was hit or miss with the episodes. Even with the slower episodes, the animation is spectacular.

I guess I'll just start saying Metropolis from now on.

One of my other fears regarding admitting to liking some of the 'ironic' stuff such as the Hyperdimension Neptunia anime or No Game, No Life is just that. They might like it ironically. Then when they find out I actually think it's a good series, they're going to be all, "Dude, what the fuck?" Ah, No Game, No Life is one I forgot to add to . That's the other part, I don't want to look like a total idiot going, "HOLD ON. There's more."

The people you're talking about aren't 'ironic'. A lot of people who really enjoy anime and manga appear quite normal.

There are some who just likes one or two acceptable shows like My Hero Academia. They're kind of like those who said they love it in the past, but then only watched Naruto. They aren't bad. They're not ironic.

There is the type who most these images are describing. They're people who watch it just to laugh. They find it completely ridiculous. They don't enjoy the series as much as they observe it like watching a trainwreck. So, they latch into the worst possible memes and stereotypes. It's all a big comedy act to them. They're not enjoying Nekopara, they're laughing someone would even create it in the first place.

The first I described might just think you're a little weird if you're heavily interested in anime, but those people may very well go on to develop a huge interest in it. The second I described, 'the ironic type', will laugh their ass off at you if they find you genuinely like it. You become a laughingstock to them just like the people who created what they're laughing at. They like anime because they like to make fun of it.

I should specify they only like anime for the purpose of making fun of it.
