What hobbies do you guys have aside from lifting?
Me? I just started boxing with plans of competing next year.

plants and cars
boxing and I'm starting to transition to muay thai pretty fun but my lifting has started to take a back seat because of recovery
I play a lot of golf (5hrs with your bros and without your phone is god tier), shoot handguns, and go drinking. Pretty comfy.
-video games
-just started reading (its pretty hard to stick to)
I want to start boxing in the near future
i plan on picking up Krav Maga in an official federation and do that shit twice a week. i already switched from PPL to Upper/Lower to accomodate for it. hope is to socialize a bit through this sport, which is why i chose a normie tier fight sport, where i can still find a challenge
the pictured stopped me from sinning today. Thanks, OP.
Video games, Tennis, reading, tabletop
I read fiction and I do ARM exploitation/reversing hacking stuff.
how old are you ?
24
>books & sloots
I also have such a huge group of friends so that there is always so much to do during
Once I'm finished with my masters I'm gonna start doing bjj or mma or something similiar
* during the weekend that I'm glad I can have the week days off
A hobby stimulates your creativity and is something you can get better at. Painting and gardening are hobbies. Reading and watching anime, not a hobby. Lifting and video games are barely hobbies. I rock climb.
An image done by the local seething incels and omegas, I can physically feel your wet dreams and insecurity problems behind those cropped pictures of muscular guys in that awful collage kid
>I rock climb
Holy cringe
>reading isn't a hobby but video games are
>bertstare.jpg
fucking shit this is the most retarded shit I've read on Jow Forums in a while
Tea blending and art. I also like to chop wood when i can
Unironically this. Can you imagine anyone spending their time on doing that shit? Lmao
I love to read (specially poetry), learn languages (currently learning German) and help in a dog shelter.
Wholesome as fuck mein dude. Wishing you good gains and happiness for helping with the doggos.
Dude, are you me? Who's your favorite poet and how's your german coming along?
Tennis. reading, and I will likely pick up boxing once I start my new job. It feels good staying busy and keeps the feels at bay.
Based and unpilled
Keep das deustch gut, mein kollege
Long distance hiking, running, water color painting, guitar, and reading non-fiction.
everyone has good hobbies and mine are lifting, watching anime, reading manga and vidya.
Should i quit anime and vidya are they that bad to waste all my free time on?
Yes.
Are there like any reasons specifically? Ive got a fuck to of vidya i wouldnt know what to do with but ive always wanted to draw, write and learn a language but my inspiration for all those things is anime and vidya
play guitar & read =) !
I just stare at the ceiling in my bed until it’s tomorrow
Switch to bjj even if you only do No-Gi stuff, you can do real competitions
Switch the manga out for Japanese Literature. Vidya is a tricky one, of my friends the most normie and the most autistic are huge gamers. Normies are mostly dudeweed + Madden/fifa/etc. It depends a lot on what/how often you play.
You’re going to lose horribly lmao
Like i play jrpgs and weeb games that are always like 100hours plus so only playing like an hour a day is terrible cause it would take me months to beat one.
kys fukboi
Gardening, saxophone, and illustration. I like running too but that's not really a hobby since I'm doing it to stay fit
I literally just walk around by myself. No music or anything jus me walkin
I'm not trying to shit on you here, but this is not a good look in the eyes of most people. I'm not necessarily saying you should quit, but you need to find one thing normie friendly. Obviously you like Japan and Japanese culture, have you considered Kyokushin Karate?
It's a hobby because it's fun. If you're not having fun don't do it. I like my hobbies to be somewhat productive at least. I'm not familiar with manga other than dragon ball, but if it's anything like the anime of today it's all garbage
Personally i don't think enjoying video games is an issue and can be a really fun hobby in moderation alsong as its not taking all of your free time its ok. If you really wanna pick up a hobby just see what is out there if you wanna learn stuff you just gotta do it its all about discipline to stick to it just like lifting its all about dedication.
See i wanna be normie friendly i always wanted to draw and write !! But vidya and anime get in the way of that but thats also where i draw inspiration
I suppose you are both right everything in moderation. I dont want to just slump myself and play vidya and watch anime my whole life right? that would be sad right?
Mine are lifting, Vidya, sports, writing, reading and listening to music (if that can be considered a hobby)
Take 30 minutes away from your usual video game time. And just go draw something. Or write a paragraph or two of whatever, free-write. Or instead do 30 minutes of X before you allow yourself to do anime/games
Look around your area for a drawing/painting/writing class. Classes are a great way to meet people and develop your skills.
That is one of the biggest issuse with anime and vidya as a hobby is it very passive you are really not active in doing something. Which is fine but if you pick up something you can really dive deep into and stay active with like learning languages, programming (can be an ok hobby) and drawing. Also anime and vidya can hurt you socially so going to like a normie hobby like boxing rock climbing stuff of that nature can be good cause you have people to talk to and you can work on your social gains aswell as your irl gains, but you dont have to drop vidya and anime you can still watch and play just open up to more hobbies and youll see that vidya and anime is not the end all be all of hobbies.
Tldr: try other activities but continue what you enjoy if its anime and vidya
Woodworking, cars and whitewater kayaking.
Reading sometimes, vidya, learning Russian, playing with my doggo, hiking. Gonna get back into boxing when uni starts again
This is really fucking good advice thank you
Sadly classes like that dont exist in such a bad area but when i move in a month ill definately look around
You don't need us telling you,
Start planning your goals for the next weeks, months, years and making massive actions to accomplish them
What's your method of learning Russian? I'm trying to do it myself
If you're really into anime and manga, drop the vidya are start learning to draw and write your own shit.
Maybe one day you could publish your own manga series.
Programming. Rock climbing. Trapeze classes. Improv. Cooking (not just Jow Forums meal prep).
what other boards does Jow Forums visit?
Back before I lifted I'd only browse /b/ and /v/

>That Ireland
What a wholesome map.
But what would i do with all my vidya??
I have like 5000 pounds worth of video games
Trying to get into reading and self-improvement, apart from that i've also been interested in boxing but until i get a job i don't have high hopes.
Right now tho since im only 18 i want to concentrate on getting out of my hometown and finding a job somewhere, after that things like a gym membership and hobbies will come.
Keep your advice for your kind, brainlet
>California is Mexico
how accurate
Vidya, gardening, pickup basketball and soccer.
I realized I had no hobbies so this summer I started skateboarding. It quickly became the one thing I look forward to everyday. Then I fucked my knee up from overwork and it hurts to walk. I can't skate or train legs anymore. I'm getting an MRI in a week. I had just started landing moving kickflips too. Feels really bad man.
Rabid shitposting and crying.
I grow and sell magic mushrooms
I shoot (rifles, pistols, revolvers, shotguns - anything that goes "bang!", really).
I read.
I learn Krav Maga.
I prep (survivalist stuff).
I spend time in nature (see above).
I spend time with my son and wife.
I fix things around the house.

hello Jow Forumsbro
You're welcome user. I hope you find a new passion
Dancing salsa/bachata, video games, manga, anime, reading
I’m really into tennis. I don’t get to play a whole lot these days because my and my hitting buddies moved away from each other, but I still follow the pro tour.
I am working on developing a web site. I only spend about 5 hours a week on it so it’s moving pretty slowly, but it’s coming along.
I’ve also been getting into cooking lately. When I get some more free time I want to get a textbook on cooking so I can study the techniques and not just try out recipes.
No, sorry. I'm just a Norwegian that prefer to be left alone. That whole Sovereign Citizen BS is something you 'Muricans can keep to yourselves ;-)
>Climbing
>Cooking, I'm a souschef and want to learn more about my craft
>Going to plays, gf does it intensively and even stared in a few national series
>Boxing, do it almost everyday in my backyard with my bff for cardio
>Doggo
Dont have time for anything else
>Dancing salsa
My buddy's in-laws are national tier salsa dancers. The husband is fucking ripped.
I'm a music producer and guitarist in a band. I really want to do it professionally, and I compose a variety of different music. It's a long shot, but after university studies I realized that nothing motivates me more than writing and producing music.
Plenty of ways to make a career out of music, if you live near NYC/LA getting into the musicians union is apparently a pretty sweet gig. The guy owns the tree-lot I work at in the winter plays weddings, makes like $250-$500/night.
Sounds more like session work on stage, whereas I'm more leaning towards the production stage, recording, mixing and mastering. Also I'm in Sweden, so competition is harsh. I've done some live performances here and there, but even that scene is bloated to shit here.
40k
And I read/write scifi
That's pretty much what it is from my understanding. Good luck my dude, like anything else grind hard and don't be a douche.
cycling except working seems to eat up all my time anymore.
"Don't be a douche" is a severely underrated statement. I've been at media companies where people are at each others throats for the most benign shit, and productivity stagnates. Creative people can be really fucking weird. Anyway, thanks!
living the life my man
>t.
Thanks bro, took me awhile to get my shit together thou.
Any starting forums/guides/books on survivalist stuff?
Anybody have advice for fun hobbies if I'm poor as fuck? In college and already lift a lot but would like to fill the void otherwise with something else besides video games
Music, I've taught myself piano and guitar over the past 4 years. It makes it easy to pickup chicks who like music if i can play a piano in front of them plus it makes me seem cultured. Its definitely been a good investment.
Eventually you will find that the vidya is not very good for feeling fulfilled or happy and you wont have the time for them anymore. I just now entered that stage. Its not so bad i just play every other night for an hour or two and it satisfies my wants.
Try /out or /k?
If you're still in college see what kind of clubs/programs the school has. Great way to try stuff on the cheap.
>live in UK
>want to do archery
>useful skill to have if society collapses and I have to hunt seagulls to get protein for gainz
>plus we have no guns so fast-moving sticks will have to do.
>local archery club is full and won't do any beginner courses until next year
It's hard enough to find stuff I might be interested in let alone contend with lack of availability.
I feel that bro, I try to read before bed and lunch breaks but fuck me it's tough
Currently juggling getting Jow Forums, mastering Scottish accent(Glasgow specific), vocal lessons from singing coach.
I spend most of my time working otherwise I get involved in music and cars. I also like philosophy and history but I cant concentrate worth shit to actually sit down and read a classic book. I've tried doing the outdoor thing but I just don't care to go on a hike or fishing comparatively.
/ic/ for dem arts and /mlp/ for the degeneracy
i play age of empires semi professionally.
so if im not lifint or at uni im playing that.
