I've never in my entire life seen a gym with deadlifting platforms. I just deadlift wherever there is some place.

My gym has 4

They're much better. My old gym had 1 good power rack, 1 good power bar, and 1 deadlift platform, and a very casual environment. New gym is one of the better weightlifting/powerlifting gyms in the city. Tons of cages, multiple combination racks, top quality power bars, 8 platforms, 6 comp benches, and an atmosphere that's both helpful and competitive. Much more conducive to actually getting strong than any commercial gym.

Why is everyone in powerlifting such a fucking benchlet? I just checked the last regional meet's results and I would have out-benched people two classes higher than me with a shitty GDE 3pl8 bench. The record is only 30kg higher. What ever happened to benching 3/4ths of your squat?

The gym does not allow deadlifting wherever on the floor, so that's why I'm asking. Also, there are two weight/powerlifting clubs around 30 mins away, so I'm thinking of giving it a go.

i hit 3x140kg of highbar atg squats yesterday. my front squats is not too far behind, with 3x120kg. my oly lifts have been increasing, i hit a 83kg snatch and 105kg C&J for what might be the best in my life so far, and i did them twice. if i can hit 100kg snatch in my lifetime, i will be happy. making progress feels good friends
