the captain of crush ones are good but fuck up your hand

I only use it when I'm commuting on the train, I know it does jack shit, but it beats sitting on a train and staring outside

If these do shit how else am I supposed to train my grip?

With deathlifts,pull ups,etc.
basically any exercise in which you use your hand

If you wanna train grip while driving theyre great. I'm about to close the 2.5 CoC.

>griping things trains your grip
user...
These directly train the muscles that contribute to grip strength.

i keep a 250 at my desk. a few weeks ago I couldn't close it, now I can. I do submission grappling and stuff so its good grip training personally, ymmv

>CoC
It's all about the heavy grippers. I've squatted 4pl8 but my CoC PR is only the 1.5

Who ?

Glad to see a thread about these because I just had my first compound lift failure due to grip weakness.

Been progressing my deadlifts these days and I went up to 275lbs on the last workout. Did a set of three which was hard but doable. Second set, the bar just rolled out of my fingers a quarter of the way up on the first rep.

Advice? I guess my forearms are pretty skinny, never thought I'd need to train them specifically though.

1 rack the bar up so you just barely lift it off the pins. Now do holds for as much weight as you can. Do this two times a week and youll get better grip for your deads.

2 Hook grip, put yout tumb between your fingers and the bar. This will lock the grip in a better way than the usual grip. Its not very comfortable though. Youll get used to it.

3 Reverse, one hand towards you and the other away from you will make sure the bar does not roll and it will be easier for you to grip the bar. Make sure to alternate between the sets or the workouts, you dont want to get muscle imbalances.

4 Try straps?

Straps, straps and more straps.

I did mixed grip for awhile but stopped after youtubing one too many bicep tears.

My brother does mad deadlifts and brags about how he uses no assistance (belts or straps or anything). I wanna say 400+lbs? I'm pretty sure he has hurt his back doing this though.

Anyway, should I be concerned about bicep tears? What is the worst thing that can happen with heavy deadlifts?

NOT straps and NOT bicep rippin' mixed grip. Not at 275# anyway. Not even at 275kg.

Start by holding the bar properly, right in the crook where finger meets palm. It will seem weak--"all finger"--but it's actually stronger. Rippetoe knows best. Don't put the bar in your palm, shit's gonna move.

Use chalk.

After your heavy lifts, do farmer's walks with the biggest dumbbells you can.

Man it must be great to be a women
>All it takes to be an international model
>Do some minimum exercise
>Maintain reasonable bf%

Anyway,

What's a farmer's walk? Also the finger grip sounds like a disinformation meme but I'll look into it.

A farmers walk is an implement in strongman competitions where you pick up two suitcases and walk with them. It is one of the most taxing things for the grip you can do. But for a normal gym goer heavy dumbells is fine.

What does the walking part do for me? Can't I just hold them?

If your deadlift is heavily limited by your gripstrenght I think using straps is fine. But you should work grip on the side until you dont need the straps.

One other reason to use straps is if youre competing in grip heavy stuff like strongman or just grip competitions, where you need to save your grip for farmers walks and other things where you get your grip taxed a lot in other training.

You have a terrible attitude towards life, it doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman you will still be unhappy.

You can just hold them for grip. But the walking part is a good exercise on its own.

A good stress-ball, or any uncrushable fitting object does the same or better.

>literal grip instruction from Starting Strength sounds like a disinfo meme
Sounds like a guy who drops 275 but I'll look into it

La modelo moderno. Dios mio...

You have a terrible attitude if you think that post was enough to judge a person's entire attitude towards life. Fuck off.

Sweet mother, that thing needs hand print

You're a fag, even the guy who posted it admired it sounds like bullshit at first and obviously this is my first time seeing it. Post your body.

Black chinese hybrid. Absolutely horrendous.

I finally got tired of my 2 and just upgraded to 2.5
I want to be able to clack it by the end of the month

Nobody in these threads ever acknowledges there are different types of grip strength. Do NOT use grippers if you only give a shit about your grip holding up for deadlifts. That is not what crush grip is for. That is SUPPORT grip. Do things to train your support grip; hangs, holds, axle bar work, etc.
With that said, it wouldn't hurt to improve your crush grip and get some meatier forearms.

Yeah theyre pretty tough. I can close the 2, im working on the 2.5, and hopefully some day the 3. The adjustable one from pic related is great for small increments in resistance

Enjoy 3-5 months of injured wrist

How are they useless if when you start you can't grip it at x level of pressure and through practice you now can. Obviously you gained grip strength. It becomes useless when you can do it easily on the max setting, or were already able to when you bought them. The ones without adjustable pressure are pretty much wasted money though.

I got the 3 almost closed but I rock climbed before lifting.
