I have so much problems with the bench and every time I fail at the bench or not improve - I extremely self-loathe to degrees that it effects the rest of my day(s).
How do people tuck in their shoulders without having it hurt? I'm 6'1 and I have really long arms and I just struggle so bad with the bench. I can't even do "leg drive" or whatever they call it, I never feel it no matter how I place my feet.
Is 5x5 a meme? What did you guys do to improve your bench.

Try placing your index fingers on the rings of the barbell.

I only really use my legs past 3pl8s.
I feel it has to be pretty heavy for me to feel my legs helping me.

Pausing definitely takes off a couple of lbs from your sets.
I like doing them under 255 lbs but beyond that it saps away more reps than I'd like it to.
I could bench 120kg for 4 reps around 4 years ago. But then it led to a wrist injury. And it somehow put too much pressure on my lower back. And I looked like a bloated Stronglifts trainer back then.
So I switched to dumbbell benching and hammer strength benching. I do moderately low weights ( 35 kg dumbbells and 50kg each side on the hammer strength bench) but higher reps ( 8-12). I now bench with very controlling tempo, stretching all the way up and down with a pause at the bottom. My chest looks much better now. And no more injury or pain.

I thought I did 165 (5x5) once, but that was when I was only doing 90 degrees (stopping four inches short of chest). I got to 135 (5x8) pause bench - full ROM. Then I took a few months offs to be a faggot loser - now I’m working up from 115 (5x8)...
Oddly enough my OHP is 85, my tricep headknockers at 75. Both closing in on my bench. Basically my triceps and shoulders are weak, but my chest is lagging waaaay behind.
I will overcome this. I’m in my way to 1/2/3/4. I won’t stop.
