Power Tower?

These things actually useful? I'm a skinnyfat dyel and I want to stop. This a good investment? Not a NEET, just hate crowds and work nights.

Get a power-rack instead.

>Is doing dips pullups and abs useful ?

It is,buy weights to be able to do weighted pullups and dips too but desu you should just get a power rack where you can set pullup bars and dips bar on it

Attached: 25144_0.jpg (900x900, 61K)

To directly ansewr your questions: No and hell o. Any pull-up bar will allow you to do pullups and leg raises, you can do dips and pushups a million different ways without needing a contraption like that.

>dip bars
>not using barbells

Space is a concern, not enough space for a full home gym

>Space is a concern
Then i'd recommend getting a proper pullup bar you can actually set in a the wall and a set of adjustable dip bars like pic related so you can work on handstands and planche since you plan on doing calisthenics

Attached: Sans titre.png (1288x693, 251K)

Mount a pull-up bar to the wall, use a couple of chairs for dips.

Literally just get a pair of gymnastics rings. Everything you can do with a power rack you can do with rings and more. You can progress without adding weight. They're also cheaper, take less space and you can put them in a drawer for storage.

I got a good alcove I can fit a tower in, not a rack. Not sure I can get anything mounted on the wall. It's century old bricks that I'm barely comfortable using nails to mount a picture.

i can take about an hour on the tower of power
as long as I gets a little golden shoooweeeerrr!

>buying that monstrosity and you can't even squat with it.
*snap*

Get a power cage instead.

Oh ok then get the tower man, buy some paralettes to work on isometrics and some weights for weighted exercises and isolations (curls, flies, kickbacks) like I said before, you can get some nice gains if you do it properly

Thanks for the replies!

I know it's not useless, but I did fall for the kettlebell meme. I figure when outside is too big I can use the tower and bell. Otherwise pic related.

dyel here, if i buy a power rack and do SS with no ohp will i end up looking like shit? the ceiling in my room is way too short to do them. i figure i'll just do lateral dumbbell raises or something instead

If you do SS you will end up looking fat. I'm not saying its a bad program but if your goal is to look ripped, you definitely want to look up bodybuilding routines.
Everyone who says SS made them looked ripped are the ones who are still dyel and didn't follow the actual program.

You shouoldn't be doing barbell lifts in your room regardless. You should be doing them either in a basement or in your garage. Somewhere more "heavy duty" if you will.

Also for OHP as a last resort, you can always carry the barbell and plates outside and do them there. And yes, you need to do OHP. It's a very important exercise.

Kettlebells aren't a meme. They're just mostly for cardio. The best god damn cardio, and it also builds muscle endurance, but cardio nonetheless.

>if you do these main compound barbell lifts 3x5 as a fullbody 3x/week program you'll get fat!
Fuck off you smooth-brained faggot. I bet you're one of those retards who unironically thinks you have to drink a gallon of milk to do SS properly.

my room is in the basement
i don't really care about aesthetics too much, i just don't want to be a full blown t rex

What if you're a skelly though

Then you should probably eat more.

Eat a gallon of milk a day?

s

If everything else fails and you are totally unable to gain weight by trying to eat normal food, then that's a last ditch option.

Key point being LAST DITCH. This is always misinterpreted by SS detractors who develop tactical autism and don't understand the context that GOMAD is placed.

How can people keep stuffing their faces full of food all day? I don't understand.

They're good for two things: chins, and dips.

a good power tower will allow you to do weighted variations of both of those exercises. while these are great for building the upper body in some ways, they're pieces to a larger picture.

like everyone is saying a good rack will allow you to do both of those exercises and much more allowing for a much more well rounded routine. invest a bit more, and get one of those instead. if you need something low profile or small, they come in all shapes and sizes, just do your research.

> they come in all shapes and sizes, just do your research.
If I ever needed one I'd probably just build it out of steel rails. Looks easy and cheap as fuck.

wood would be even cheaper.

Sounds like a lot of drilling and less sturdy. Steel rails come with the holes, all you need to do is screw the pieces together.

>I don't bulk while on a program that requires me to bulk

I bet you are one of those retards who did SS for a full year and thought you were doing the program.

>t rex

this is only possible if you are a cyclist

>I want to add 2pl8 a month to my total, but without gaining too much weight, staying lean and only talking 1g/lb of protein ;^)
YNDTP, KYS

this idiot is actually giving advice on SS.

>if you're not drinking a gallon of milk a day then you're not bulking
are you retarded?

Fellow skinny fat here. Used one (and nothing else) for 6 months. This is what I ended up with. Draw your own conclusions.

The overhead press is extremely important. Lateral raises won't do. I assume you're getting a bench also for bench pressing? Why not just do a seated overhead press in the power rack? Won't be as good as the real deal but better than lateral raises for sure (which don't really do shit)

What routine did you do and how shit did you look before?

Yes, but you need a good routine for them, here's one: youtu.be/U_I9LcWNrBg
That's good enough for a beginner tower, personally I started with the Stamina 1690 youtu.be/l16LGA1Ucbw
After a few months though of gains you'll want to start adding weight, then you need a tower that can handle a 50lb weight between your legs as you do pullups.
This is how I learned to do pull ups youtu.be/mRznU6pzez0

My advice is, after you follow that last video and can successfully do at least 5 pullups, in good form, follow the Adam Raw calisthenics beginner circuit/routine.
Never max yourself out, so if you can do 5 pullups then just do 4. That way you won't be sore the next day, so you can do pullups 6 days a week. The next week you'll easily progress to 5 without being sore, then 6, 7, ect until you can finish that entire circuit. Then it's time to add weights to hanging leg lifts or do what the Rock does, put a 50lb chain over your neck and do dips.

A: Chest dips 2x10, twisting leg raise 2xfailure
B: Chin ups 2x10, ab crunch 2xfailure

A-B-rest day-A-B-rest day=6 months. When the chins and dips got too easy I would fill a 2 litre bottle with water (1litre water=1kg), put it in a plastic bag and hang the bag from an old leather belt I'd fasten around my waist. Pic was me at 6 bottles for dips and 4 bottles for chins.

>how shit did you look before?
Very shit. I was 20 pounds lighter with zero muscle and a fat belly before.

I wanted one of these bidly when I started trying to get Jow Forums. Decided against it, not worth the shekels. I do not regret at all user.

would that fuck up my back?

I spent $200 on the Stamina 1690 PT and used it nearly everyday for a year until I upgraded to a cage for pull ups with weights. Never regretted that decision, it's tiny and can do anything on it.
At the time I lived in a postage stamp sized commie apartment block housing, there was no room for anything else.
