Hypothetically speaking, what is the best age to start lifting? I'd think 16; old enough to avoid warping growing bones, young enough to take full advantage of teenage hormones.

Bodyweight till 13
Weightlufting after that
You could go a bit earlier, but it would be best to build up to it with weighted calisthenics,
depends on everyone.
Some people still grow up until like 17/18 years old.
But theres basically no evidence weight training is bad for you if you are under 16 or whatever
i started a month before my 16th birthday
an,NFL quarterback told me it was when i started growing hair on my pits but i decided to wait 2 years after that
Pretty sure the only reason teen lifters make easier gains is due to a lot less stress compared to uni/wagecucks.
Also they're usually leaner which means they can jump straight into bulking and are less likely to have mobility issues
>take full of teenage hormones
Are you saying I missed out on the prime age to gain muscle?
Let's add weightlifting to the list of things kids should be taught to do but nobody is doing it
>wanting to raise the playing field of what's considered to be Jow Forums
No. Keep the normoids skinny fat. Otherwise you'll start looking less impressive in comparison
imagine having such a shit body you're worried about children mogging you
My buddy started lifting really hardcore at 15, eating huge, drinking 1200 calorie mass gainer shakes, he's a year younger than me and benches 405, I only bench 285. I've also been lifting for longer, just never took it as seriously, especially senior year in hs and freshman year in college.
This. Plus testosterone levels generally decrease with age.
It's okay, very few people on this board actually started lifting before they were in college.
Uni fags have more Test than teenagers though
And they generally tank it with stress and alcohol.
Istarted wrestling around 13. I got strong but I was still pretty fat around 18% bf. I only started seriously going to the gym and lifting weights two years ago at 16. I could already 1 pl8 bench and 2.5 pl8 dead without ever doing those kinds of movements so it was alright around 16
Ideally if you wanted to train an olympic champion in weightlifting their actual weightlifting training would start around 10-11 years old so they can win an olympic games around 23-24.
Before age 10 they'd be doing plenty of very light technique work and other strength building stuff like gymnastics and track and field stuff.

Your kids should play as many sports as possible growing up (don't force them, but act in a way that they'll want to. Kids do what daddy does). Get them on bodyweight stuff as soon as you can. Once they've got hair on their pubes/pits, get them a barbell. Progressive overload and the lot.
Of course dude. 12-16 year olds have so much test and GH that they might as well be on roids.
