None
Try sourdough, the old fashioned slow process kind made without vegetable oil. If you can't tolerate that, bread's not in the cards for you.
Then what do i do nigga
Tell me
wholegrain
crispbread
sourdough makes me feel like shit. even a slice of sourdough toast at lunch and I feel like I ate dominoes pizza.
here is a graph of all-cause mortality rate and wholegrain. its actually incredible. like as good as fruit and veg
Stupid question
Is that wholegrain wheat or what? Also don't they chuck fucktons of sugar into wholegrain wheat bread to make it taste good?
Not to knock on whole grains, but whenever a huge meta-analysis finds that people who heed health guidelines have better health should give you whiplash from rolling your eyes so hard. I hate this shit being trotted around in the popsci media circuit.
Find something organic.
Now that is a subtle merchant.
Someone redpill me on sprouted grain bread
I dont eat any bread while cutting. I just eat my tuna out of a bowl.
you can factor that in yes. but the results are too strong for just that. They do try to control for as many variables as possible. Its the best we got.
What surprised me the first time I looked at it all was that wholegrain kept reducing mortality rates the more you ate, and seemed to not have diminishing returns. Whereas with fruit and veg once you've eaten 5-6 portions anything after that a day is pointless.
Try this, tastes fine and is pretty clean.
Make a tuna salad, or eat it with lettuce in place of the bread.
"It's the best we got" has landed us in plenty of hot water before, and I don't think it's good enough to make strong recommendations based on such findings. These effects generally disappear in randomized control trials, which is very worrisome. The outlier study (Boggs 2014) that pulls the risk ratio down in the meta-analysis? Based on food frequency questionnaires of African American women. Any change in their typical diet will be a massive improvement. I looked at a few others, they're epidemiology based on surveys as well, and they're all compared to the unhealthy modern Western diet.
If that's good enough for you, so be it, but it doesn't pass my smell test for prescription. I don't think anyone can truly say if eating whole grains is healthy, or eating them instead of something else is healthIER.
Ancient Grains is the shit; often comes frozen
tastes great, goes good with anything and haven't had any shit-related issues. expensive though.
if you're on a cut though, I would just avoid bread altogether
OK this is very insightful. thank you.
Reminder that bread is ultimately a butter delivery vehicle.
Eat the tuna on a tostada
