How many bodyweight reps of pullups and dips should I be able to do before I start adding weight to them?
How many bodyweight reps of pullups and dips should I be able to do before I start adding weight to them?
5x15
3-4 sets of 8-12 reps
Fuck. Right now I struggle to eleven, then switch to some dumbbells for the next 2 sets to maintain my 12 reps.
I'm very confused as to how you use dumbbells to make dips and pullups easier.
Think about it for a second. I'm not doing pull ups with dumbbells. I'm switching to curls with a lighter weight to maintain 12 reps per set for my biceps.
I started adding weight once i got to 8. Its a waste of time to keep struggling to get more reps than that when you can just workout like you would any other workout, by adding weight. All these stupid pyramid programs and having you pullup every single day is just something dumbfucks do instead of adding weight and getting mad gains in realistic time. Im up to 45 pound plates now in less than 3 months. When i use no weight to do them now, i feel like im light as air
Doing 8 reps just means you are lifting to increase strength. I'd rather lift to get huge.
5x15 for dips
3-5x12 for pullups
If you're hitting 3x11, I would add weight at that point. I would probably start adding weight at 3x10
S-s-sauce?
that's not how it works user
Strength = mass
So are you doing chin ups or pull ups
Being a dumb fuck is what he's doing

Nigga what
Chin ups. They involve the biceps more. I start with chin ups because it's the heaviest weight I've got. Then I stitch to my dumbbells for the next set to hit 12 and take some plates off them to hit 12 on the set after that. I haven't comfortably hit 12 reps for the chin ups yet. My routine will stay the same until I hit 13 chin ups before failure.
Post body.

when you get to 5x5 bodyweight, start adding 2.5kg at a time
its what i did, now im at 90kg bodyweight, and doing 5x5 dips/pullups +40/+20 respectively
