the 5 k is a bet with friends. So it's just who's the best of us.
The two timer
shins got sore today. whats the deal on preventing shin splints?
>Didn't link to previous thread
never going to make it
What's better, running twice for 15 mins or once for 30 mins?
just bought a polar m200
You need to focus on your technique. It's likely that your feet are landing in front of you rather than underneath you.
Once for 30 and don't go too fast.
Just ran my first half marathon. I have never experienced this level of tiredness before.
The forecast for tomorrow is DOMS and penguin walks. How do i prevent this Jow Forums?
Thanks, hopefully I can do a 30 min run
Unironically use this if you are a beginner
looks like the dr destructo disk guy from twitch
so lads, tomorrow i have a long day, with sprinting, weightlifting, and strength shit. After that it's a long run. What should one eat in the morning, between the stuff and so on. I usually eat accordingly to my weightlifting and not cardio based stuff.
Can't read shit captain.
The last row on the "Bridge to 10k" says run for 60 minutes, total = 70 min.
Hope you're still here user warm baths canreally help
>reintroducing walks after you can run continuously
shiggy
You want low fat high carb if you don’t want to die or shit yourself on your run
>Emi
Now that's a feel I haven't experienced in a long time, a long time.
Is this not a crawlingly slow pace for improvement?
Legs and feet hurt when running, which is a pain because my lungs are fine. Gets nearly unbearable around four miles. I got my shoes fitted at a running store, skinnyfat so excess weight isn't a problem. What can I do?
learn to read
Not doing this faggot anime shit
This a good running watch?
This is watch, image disappeared for some reason
So I completed couch to 5k, my 5k times are about 27 minutes now. Where do I go from here? Just keep going to the 10k plan? Because I'm thinking this . Why don't I just keep adding an extra 2 minutes each run until I hit 60 minutes instead of breaking it up like this?
I just want to run faster, my goal is sub 20 5k and a 6 minute mile. But I have no idea where to start
>Why don't I just keep adding an extra 2 minutes each run until I hit 60 minutes
If you had said the same when you started the 5k program, it wouldve taken ages to progress. The point is to run for as long as possible, which is why you take walking breaks.
Best time to jog, before eating (morning) or after dinner?
how much does psychology factor in ability to go fast?
I bike alot, well I used to, and I started again recently and I felt so bad today. But then I started thinking about fucking lana rhodes in her asshole on the final climb to my house and set a PR doing it. So my fitness is just way worse than normal but I went way faster simply by adjusting my pscyhology to be more alpha.
You need to build a solid base. I'd say get to around 30 miles a week before you go and work on getting faster. Having that base will allow you to get more out of speed workouts because you will have the aerobic endurance to last through such workouts.
That's a regular watch. Unless you don't care about getting better, get a watch that has a GPS tracker in it so you can log your miles. This is also important for determining when to replace your shoes.
Dumb question,
how important are shoes? Not how new they are, but the style?
here's the non-weeb version with better resolution
And here is the Superior enhanced anime stretch edition.
I thought someone here knew watches. This watch tracks all that shit
No it doesnt. All it has is bluetooth so you can connect it to an app.
It doesnt have either GPS or heart rate tracker, which is pretty much what defines a running watch.
I went to a running store where they watched my gait and did some tests (for free) and recommended me a few pairs from a few brands.
Night and day from before. Buying shoes that are right for you makes running so much more enjoyable.
Generally the big running names are big for a reason though. Brooks, Saucony, Asics etc.
go back
These routines are all the same correct?
I've been doing the C25K program but it's always around week 4 is when I start to struggle, I don't think I've ever jogged for 5 minutes in my life
I don't know what I am doing wrong and even going onto week 5 is impossible for me to finish, even tried re-doing week 3
Stick with week 4, you won't be able to keep 5 minutes if you stop at 3 again, you'll get used to it. If you think you are still struggling then go a bit slower in your pace but keep jogging, don't walk.
It really depends on how you feel. I run in the morning morning eating a good meal the night before or eat around midday then run in the evening.
Any recommendations for good running watches in that price range or am I better off just buying this
Just ran my first 5k. My calves are tight/swore as fuck and it hurts to walk, but I feel great. Probably going to take a rest day tomorrow if I'm still this tight /swore tomorrow. Anything I could improve on?
Forgot to attach picture
I dont own a watch myself, but I sometimes borrow my fathers or brothers Garmin forerunner 35. Thats the cheapest watch I would consider buying. If I had money I would buy the forerunner 235 though. (They both track your heart rate on the wrist, so you dont have to wear an annoying belt like that).
Never tried Polar or TomTom, but a lot of people like those too.
I mainly wear them for the GPS and pace calculator. The heart rate monitor seems a little superfluous to me unless youre very serious about running.
Thank you I'll look into them both
i know hes really fast but this guy looks like a running version of the boomer meme
in the future if you have more miles under your belt it won't be as bad, even if you give it your all
first time i ran a half all out i was sore for 3 days
2 years later ran the same amount off effort but was only sore for like a day, only difference was that i was running 75 mpw instead of 30mpw for training
a 12 hour long thunderstorm ruined my evening cardio today/tonight
fucking oklahoma
should i just call it quits? or should i risk it all and go out into the thunderdome
I've been running with Forerunner 35 for a year now and I think it's great. The HR sensor is pretty unreliable, but as far as I know most wrist sensors are. Doesn't bother me at all though, my main requirement is GPS. The 35 is nice and small and minimalistic, perfectly suitable for wristlets like me who look goofy with big watches.
take a look at the reddit "running order of operations" for guidelines on how to shape your workout. if you just read this one single file, you'll be more knowledgeable about what makes a good running program than the majority of Jow Forums

Anyone tried our minimalist running? I’ve got on order a pair of huaraches that I’m kind of excited to try. I’ve been doing a couple of barefoot runs on the trail outside my neighborhood and have gotten a couple weird looks. I feel like my form has improved immensely though and I’m not feeling the shin splints or knee pain I had been getting lately
>"elevation" mask
Wow, there's actually people that fell for this?
HIIT.
this thread is just retarded people complaining about how their knees hurt when they try to move their fat bodies and stomping the ground with their stupid padded shoes. Fuck all of you.
I have a road around a forest near my place, it's around 7km long. Started running that ever other day ~5 months ago and toady i finally managed to run it whole without stopping. God it feels amazing, time is shit (~6.30 min/km), but now after the milestone i Will try to improve it.
Does anyone have a good interval workout I can do during my lunch? I've been running on lunch for a while but I'm getting tired of just doing 3 mile runs every day.
Minty where are you? Come back we miss your negativity.
as a fatish person what a good time to run 5 miles in?
