I can average under a 10 minute mile for 5 miles, what the fuck is this bullshit about being over 200 pounds it “too heavy to run”? I have a gut and it still doesn’t hurt me knees or back to run.

That's pretty cool. I too can speed walk 5 miles
10 minute mile is atrocious
You're too heavy to run fast for long distances, you're not too heavy to run. I assume you lift anyway. When fat people run they're basically begging to get injured, their bodies can barely support them when they walk so forget about running. What a dumb thread.
>he thinks running on a treadmill at the gym is the same as running outside
I got some sad news for you, OP..
Not everyone is as lucky as you OP, I weigh 220 and I MUST walk, once I ran a quarter mile and the next 3 days the pain in my knees were so unbearable I couldent even walk.
Some people may never be able to run, I use to weigh 320 and when I started I couldent walk more than a mile, not I weigh 220 and I walk 4 miles a day but I CANNOT run any, if I do it hurts my knees so much I cant walk for days.
Pathetic.
I weigh 215 and I run 5k / 10k all the time. Train your knees and actually workout.
You probably aren't running correctly and are heelstriking. Do your shoes have built-up padding on the heels? Or do you stretch out your stride too much? The OP probably runs correctly which is why he has no problems (even if on a treadmill, LOL).
>Some people may never be able to run
Read your post out loud until you realize how stupid it is.
y u post pic of that fucking butcher who kills his own people and destroys his own country?
Whats wrong with treadmills? I'm not OP but treadmills are the only safe place I can run, I live in rural USA and if I were to run these roads I would probably get ran over, people here do not take kindly to runners or bikers.
Running on a treadmill is nothing at all like running outside, running outside is harder for reasons.
>people here do not take kindly to runners or bikers.
Where do you fucking live?
Triad area of NC, but from my understanding pretty much every rural area hates bikers.
What makes running outside harder, other than elevation changes?
>What makes running outside harder, other than elevation changes?
Treadmills have nice cushioned platforms under the belt, the real world doesn't.
Treadmills let you run at a nice steady pace with no sudden pitch changes or changes in terrain.
Treadmills in a gym are in a nice climate-controlled environment with no wind or other weather features.
You don't have the sun beating down on you running on a treadmill inside a gym.
Psychologically, you know running on a treadmill inside a gym, you can stop whenever you want or need to, get a drink of water, use the restroom, or just decide you're done.
Running on a treadmill inside a gym, you have TVs all over the place to distract you, running outside you have nothing to distract you.
It's totally different and if you don't intrinsically know this then you've never been a runner.
this is accurate, it's also the exact same difference between using an exercise bike and biking for real.
Doing that is cool now.
OP you are going to destroy your knees if you try to run a lot at that weight, you will wear down the cartilage in your legs, wait until you have lost weight before trying to start running.
>What makes running outside harder, other than elevation changes?
A treadmill actively propels you. It's far, far easier running on a treadmill.
kek this must be you
Club bikes are actually harder because the seat is like a tractor seat and is only comfortable for about 30 minutes or less, and there aren't adjustments to set it up to be comfortable anyway. The exception are 'club bikes' like they use for spin classes that have a full suite of adjustments and can be customized for individual riders to be just like their actual bikes.
Heh, yeah, forgot to mention that, the belt is being moved by a motor, all you have to do is keep your legs moving, totally different.
Speed walking world record is a 5:30 mile, dont disrespect me or my sport ever again
If I run I lose gains.
>t. 250 and trying to bulk
My PR mile time at 6’1 150 was 4:45. My PR mile time at 6’1 185 is 7:45. Just kill me brehs.
I was running a 7:30 mile pace for 5 miles at 6'1 210, my bf was at least 20%.
That's decently fast for "normal" people but it's not a killer pace. Plenty of big dudes in the military are decent runners.
It's doable but it's way fucking easier if you aren't big. I've lost 25lbs and even not running near much as I was I haven't lost much endurance.
my PR mile at 6'2 208 was 6:40
>blah blah blah
guess how i know you started running a year ago
I find running on a treadmill to be much harder. I can’t just stare off into space at a wall or whatever. It drives me insane
post body now
And he did a mile in 10
