Anyone have any routines that include both lifting and calisthenics?
Calisthenics and lifting
Yeah just run a modified PHUL program. Or you can just add a couple pull-ups, hanging leg raises and planks to your current routine
>Anyone have any routine that will waste my time?
Fixed that for you op, no problem
or you can just add useful exercises like planche, handstand and OAC/rope climbs
Calisthenic routine with BB squats and deadlifts is good
Just do a modified version of a convict conditioning program and the typical upper body focused curlbro program.
>pull-ups and hanging leg raises aren’t useful
Everything calisthenics is literally worst than the weightlifting equivalent. It's meme training for idiots who want to be Bruce Lee
squats and deadlifts at the gym(2-3x a week~)
calisthenics at home(3-7x a week)
I am doing blood flow restricted pushups and pullups for 10 sets each every single day and my arms went up about 2" in 3 months.
Stopped caring about any upper body lifts cause I look way more muscular now without doing any.
T. Fatty power lifter who can’t do a pull-up
moving your body through space is the superior movement you son of a whore
It's all about signalizing
>Everything calisthenics is literally worst than the weightlifting equivalent
What's the weightlifting equivalent to weighted pullups and why is it 1000x shittier?
Doing your mom requires a lot of strength and endurance. At least it's free am I right?
HLL are useless, because most people lack hamstring flexibility, and use too much lats. Also HLL are a compression drill for press handstands. You don't need to do them if you aren't going to be doing handstand press or at least L-/V-sit.
Pull ups are garbage because people don't train them properly (just like HLL). People do too much volume on pull ups, push ups and dips. Muscle ups are even worse than pull ups.
I bet you can't even do a muscle up
>an exercise is bad because people do it wrong
That’s like saying dead’s and squats are bad because idiots go to snap city.
HLL raises are great for lower core you don’t need to do an exercise just to lead up into another exercise, and pull-ups are genuinely good for upper back and biceps. And if volumes a issue just do weighted pull-ups.
Muscle up is the biggest meme exercise of all. Literally no benefits compared to weighted pull ups and dips separately and high risk of injury
Do usual gym routine.
Grease the groove with bodyweight stuff.
What's that user? I'm interested af
Most people are aware that they have to use proper form, because squats and deadlifts are dangerous. There is (next to) no danger in doing high reps pull ups/push ups/etc.
If you tell people to train planche, they are forced to learn to train properly or they'll fuck their shit up, just like with squats and deadlifts.
totally true
I use muscle ups to get on top of the rings, nothing more. I consider them a good exercise only when they are done slowly like this
youtube.com
but people don't do that, they do this
youtube.com
on a bar
>an exercise is better if there is a higher risk of injury, rather than basing it off of results given
That’s a genuinely stupid concept
that's not what I said. My point was that if there is a higher risk of injury, people are more careful, they educate themselves, because they care about protecting themselves.
Are you fucking retarded?
They'll jump head first into deadlifts and squats and snap their shit up forever because RARGE TOUGH AND STRONG REAL MAN LEEFTS bullshit the powerlifting fucking dorks have been shitting up the entire fitness community up with for the last goddamned decade.
I use blood flow restriction cuffs on my upper arms, it makes it so your arms need to work harder in order to complete a rep in any movement that requires them to contract.
What's fun about this is that it also makes every other muscle worked in whatever movement have to work harder as well, in order to compensate for the artificial weakening of your limbs(so chest and shoulders need to work harder on pushups because arms got weaker and are fatigued easier).
I swear if you try this it will give you a pump that you never thought was possible.
is this only for size, because I only care for strength
Weighted pull-ups is literally the weightlifting equivalent to pull-ups. Adding weight makes it a weight lifting exercise rather than pure calisthenics.
>wear clothes while doing pull up
>they weigh you down
>all calisthenics exercises are actually weightlifting exercises unless done naked
BFR makes sure your muscles' fast twitch muscle fibers are hit HARD, but BFR is not as good as heavy lifting.
BFR shines in the hypertrophy department because they cause less muscle damage than regular training, so you can do it daily.
I can do one arm pullups, and bench 130kg+ when I test them for fun.
Not optimal for strength potentiation, but obviously still gives strength gains that are mostly derived from the muscle mass gains.
It’s easy to mix them. Just replace the movement with a similar movement. Bench press for weighted pushups or a plan he progression, for example.
If you get really advanced start doing rings routines plus some weighted lower body stuff.
>calisthenics
Ohsweetie.jpg
calisthenics requires you to get to a really high level before you start seeing meaningful gains.
Here's my routine
Strength Skills done daily
>planche push ups
>one arm chin ups
volume skills done 1-2 times a week to stay fresh
>Bent over rows
>Behind the neck press
>hexbar DL
yeah
do some proven lifting routine and then roll on pushup and pullups threads on rest days
