Comfy pic
that pic is super epic thanks for sharing
Yes, but it will take a lot more effort and time than using weights
But as long as you got the heart, you can still make it
from the waist up, yes
Yes. You can add weight by using a weighted backpack.
yes, but you'll need to weight above 80kg
>this kills the knees
he didn't say he was running you mongoloid
The proper term is calisthenics, and probably. It's probably best for reaching ottermode.
if your diet and hormones are in check then yep, probably
Thanks for this thread.
I am forced by my station in life to do only calisthenics (have one dumbbell, but I dont want to be a curl bro).
I have space for a weighted vest, should I get the vest now, or wait until I'm easily doing sets of 25 pushups for a total of 200?
What should I do?
wait. you don't need it right away. focus on good form. 5 pushups slow and steady with good form is better than 15 pushups rapidly with poor form and only split second muscle engagement. you want to go as slow as possible so you actually stress the muscle.
as for weight buy a cheap military backpack on ebay, then buy some sandbags and a 25kg bag of sand from a diy store. then you can increase the weight in however many increments you want and it's cheap.
no, buy some adjuatable dumbells for $200 on amazon
Yes, but it is very core/chest/tricep heavy. You will need something for back/biceps. Get some resistance bands, you can mimic most dumbbell and cable workouts with them.
Lifting weights should be fun and motivating.
You will see progress if you do bodyweight training, and it's heck of a lot better than doing nothing at all. If you can't be bothered with barbell training, then don't do it, no matter what people tell you. The best exercise programme is the one you can stick to.
I would say, it's better to do weighted calisthenics and progressing that way than relying too much on high rep stuff (you can only do so many reps until it becomes cardio basically)
This channel will help you out a lot:
Also, greasing the groove is a very cool concept and makes training fun because you'll make strenght gains very quickly
If you want to learn proper form for the different exercises, then this channel is a gold mine:
Eric Bugenhagen lifts weights using the Bulgarian Method, but his personality and ethusiasm for lifting is very inspirational to me. Watching his vids always makes me want to work out:
Good post, thanks user
FUUUUCKKK this pic is so cozy. Please wait until late November to post things like this
what are squats
Why? Social anxiety?
Even if you could, I can tell by the question that it would be in your best interest to just go to the gym.
What are you afraid of? People already have negative thoughts about you. Who cares if that happens inside a gym too?
Start this Friday. In a few months you’ll be very thankful that you overcame your fear.
Glad it's not the one where pepe made it out of his shit
>double digit weight in a backpack is going to kill your knees
Pathetic stuff my man
If you really want to look good you're gonna have to do a lot of calisthenics. When I was in prison I had a little routine going on.
Mon/Wed:
400 push-ups of different variations
100 Dips
100 pull-ups different variations
75 shoulder presses
Tuesday/Thursday:
350 burpees
150lunges on each leg
50 pistols squats each leg
10 min wall-sit
300 crunches
You are gonna have a weak core and your lower body won't be as developed as your upper body. I'd at least get a kettlebell if I was you.
I can believe all of these except
>350 burpees
I can't even do 10 burpees without fucking dying.
Unless you're running with a 150 lb. jacket, it won't do shit to your knees.
Ah well I'd do them in increments of 50-100. Calisthenics is great for stamina at first I could barely do 30 burpees before gassing out.
yeah but it will take longer and wont take you as far
>static wall-sit
you got memed
this and not to mention you'll hit a limit somewhere where you'll have to use weighted exercises to progress
