Home Gym Garage Bro General

This is the Garage bro thread for the discussion of aspects of mixing weight training with a general dislike of the general population.

This is my setup, I affectionately refer to it as the bunker, I have set it up in the back of a business and premises I own.

Topics for discussion:

I picked everything I have up second hand.
The grey cable multi-station in the foreground I just bought on ebay from a school for $55.
My total investment is around $1,000

Why would one need all that shit? Have you gotten it cheap of CL or actually bought all of it?

Reading comprehension ain't really your thing, is it son?

Why dont you try reading his post.

It's obvious that you are in cryo sleep and that gym is a simulation

Jelly of your space, especially your ceiling height because mine is too low to OHP.

My perfect gym is this:
-A big ass high quality cage from Rogue (or similar). I've been considering getting a custom cage from one of their competitors that is two 4 foot sections with plate storage on the back; I reckon you could then set up pins for all your lifts and never need to touch them again, would be awesome.
-Heavy adjustable incline/flat bench.
-Olympic barbell and lots of calibrated steel plates, unless you're into oly shit, then go bumper.
-Adjustable height cable crossover. You can use these for lat pull downs and shit too, so why bother with that big lunk in the middle of your gym?
-Deadlift platform for under / infront of your cage.

Optional:
-Cardio of your choice for that warmup/warmdown. I've heard rowers are ideal for this and considered saving for a Concept 2. Skipping rope suffices if you're on a budget.
-Olympic dumbbell handles and bunch of extra 5kg or 10kg plates.

That tire is pretty cool. Last time I used a sledgehammer I threw out my back though, so not sure if I want one myself.

If it is I am happy not to wake up until the time of personal service robots.

I'm a fan of the big Rogue crossfit racks, even though crossfitters are dickheads,
I still need bumper plates, just can't find them for a good price.

I am going to butcher som eof my equipment into a cable cossover, I would love an adjustable one, but will settle for hi/lo, just need to get my new mig welder.

For cardio I recommend a punching bag and HIT

m8 I'm a business owner that started from nothing and it's 90% luck, 10% pounding on walls until they break. To think anything else is delusion.

Even if that's true, to be a successful businessman you need the gumption to not give up when you fall flat on your face over and over, to keep going until you get your break

You're just salty you didn't go all in when BTC was sub $500 like I did :^)

I mean, holy shit, all you had to do was listen.
But nope, you decided you prefer working at Mickey D's instead.

Thank you, anonymous Jow Forumsnessman who convinced me to buy in just before it exploded.
Thank you, anonymous Jow Forumsnessmen who explained trading with noob me and lived with me through the explosion of free BTC that was trading when alphabay adopted XMR and when ETH went to the moon.

I'm going to pay it forward, here's my tip for anybody out there with some spare change: Buy PART.
We're currently just above the bottom.
That pump yesterday was me buying 5 BTC worth on Bittrex.

I have
>barbell
>plates
>power cage
>adjustable bench
>horse stall mat
>ab wheel
>foam roller
>resistance bands

Only thing I honestly wish I had would be a cable setup, but it's just not worth it in terms of cost and space

Spud Inc makes budget cable systems.
You can get an upper and lower cable which can attach to any old rig for about $200 USD

> especially your ceiling height because mine is too low to OHP.

I know that feel. Luckily I'm a 5'8 manlet and I'm just barely able to OHP in my basement gym, but I gotta take a wide stance with my feet all the way to the sides of the cage to do it.

Theoretically I could just take the barbell and plates outside and do OHP there, but ain't nobody got time for that.

I'm pretty sure his employees are doing the brunt of the work.
