If muscle memory is a thing, aka its easier to get back lost muscle and strength. Taking a fast cut makes sense since you'll get back to level relatively quickly, without having to be on maintenance/decline over months.
How fast do you take it?
I am on the last week of my 4 month cut, would not recommend to anyone. go as fast as you can, lift heavy, eat protein and get it over with.

I eat about 1k deficit a day during cuts

I never gave advice, i just said i preferred fast cutting, and that if one believes in muscle memory in the form of that it takes a shorter duration to build back up, it can make some sense.
OP should try both at different points and see how he responds to it, would be my advice.
It would help more if you could verify whether or not you have appreciable muscle mass such that it could be detrimental to lose too much cut, I.e. do you bench over 225?
I do. If your main worry is losing muscle mass, im not sure what you're doing considering a cut.

Just eat some proteins while you can, do cardio and conditioning work alongside usual lifting routine, be done with cut relatively quickly. I think more potential muscle mass is lost being stagnant for several months
eat sufficient protein and continue lifting while on a cut. if you "lose significant muscle mass" what is more likely is you can't calculate lbm and mistook fat for muscle to start with, especially likely on a board populated by as many idiots as this one
