Clean deadlift

catalystathletics.com/exercise/176/Clean-Deadlift/
the usual deadlift setup with high hips and tight hamstrings is a meme. the clean setup feels so much better and makes it easier to keep a straight back. many successful powerlifters use it too, e.g. Ed Coan and Kirk Karwoski

the ultimate redpill unironically
I don't do that exaggerated knee forward thing tho

I'm now seriously questioning my deadlift form.

Its a lot harder to lift more weight desu
You have to keep your back angle stable in the first pull and use your quads more

Whats your point?

fucking hell, he probably deadlifts more than 99,99% of pro powerlifters at his weight

damn that was clean as fuck and here i am busting my fucking ass to lift a third of that

thats just sick - gilgamesh approves

what is your point?

look at the position when the bar actually leaves the floor, it ends up being high hips and tight hamstrings

pull this way if you want to but it offers no mechanical advantages

I'm aware of that, but it still promotes different muscle engagement during the lift and it's easier to use the legs more at the point where the bar breaks from the floor. it's also much harder to fuck up, e.g. initiate the pull with the back, etc. because the position when it leaves the floor sets naturally during the movement, as opposed to being dependent on the setup.

Fucking Klokov Snatch Grip Deficit Romanian Deadlifting 250kg - 550lbs

I remember i read something where he says Americans lifters use boxes breaking down the lifts to improve technique, while russian lifters create deficit for the same purpose

It offers many advantages when it comes to preventing lower back pain and developing weaker areas of your deadlift

If you can't maintain good posture during the clean deadlift you can't actually move the weight, whereas during the conventional deadlift, you end up moving more weight basically by snapping yourself and hurting your lower back (i'm talking about most people, not professionals)
I can't stand watching boys ego lifting with shitty posture, for me if they can't keep posture (not bending their back), they can't lift it

*Stiff legged

Are you deadlifting 4+pl8s for reps? And I don’t mean a shaker, hitching 4pl8, at least 3 clean reps? If not get stronger than worry about the details, don’t major in the minors

>If not get stronger than worry about the details

>pull 4pl8 before worrying about your technique

>bar over midfoot, scapulae over the bar
It's a submaximal deadlift done with enough weight to shrug at the top. Don't be retarded and don't confuse our precious DYELs.

you know how you know klokov is a legend? doing that with that shitty ass beat in the background.
i cant even warm up with shity music

worrying about technique != trying out some random niche deadlift technique from a T-Nation article or similar meme bullshit.

The 4pl8 deadlifters are the ones giving advice on /plg/. The rest of Jow Forums posters are 2-3pl8 deadlifters, know the difference.

by this logic people should only be doing front squats because you can't complete a rep if the bar pulls you forward.

That was debunked by wormchad

Debunked in what way? Please elaborate.

Look at the pic dumdum

i did and all i see is a herniated disc waiting to happen

It proves that it's not an all or nothing lift as many people claim (I've heard this about sumo deadlifts as well), you can complete it even with the most abhorrent form. That's a front squat in case you didn't notice.

>That's a front squat in case you didn't notice.
holy shit lmao

>by this logic people should only be doing front squats
you say that like its an unreasonable conclusion

>straps for 300kg

Now fuck you for questioning his grip strength

That's 285kg snatch grip deadlift without straps btw

clean deadlifts aren't exactly niche considering they're the way all weighlifters pull. I guess there's no reason to do them if you're a beginner who solely wants to do powerlifting but if you have even a casual interest in oly lifting you should probably clean pull at least some of the time

Kek, it was supposed to be mocking people that complain about straps on a diddle
His lifts are impressive as fuck

I laugh at all you armlets. Lank chad over here at 188cm with a 203cm wingspan. Got to 415 for reps in 2 months of lifting. Just grow your arms to help you deadlift more.

>he doesn't know about wormchan

>wormchan

>klokov power weekend
Is this silver medallist a meme in Russia as well? I thought only American crosshitters cared about him
