Why is the average gym goer so weak?

why is the average gym goer so weak?

Hardly ever I see someone benching more than 1 plate or even doing deads

theyre a bunch of disgusting normies that half ass everything in their life. most normies view appearing 'normal' as more important than achieving goals.

Stop posting trannies

Is that a guy?
fuck that's hot

Most people in the gym are there moving light weights around because it makes you look a little bit better naked. Very few people actually care about big strength or size gains.

Just ignore it and keep lifting

No its not

i always catch normie dudes miring me. being an intermediate lifter is like god-mode to them

Oh
well that's disappointing

yeah me too, when im benching 2 plates for reps i feel the mires

imgur.com/gallery/oJqS8

I'm dyel af and after 4 months of lifting only bench 180 and still get mires for days. Normies are pathetic. Just the basic understanding of fitness and nutrition you can get from reading the sticky plus a few months of hard work is enough to put normies to shame.

>why is the average gym goer so weak?
lack of consistency and quality training.
most people don't push progression, they just want to get tired so they feel like they did something.
most people feel like there's nothing wrong with skipping the gym for a few days or a week, or not tracking their intake, or not getting a decent night's sleep. most people eat like shit, drink hundreds of calories a day, and have no desire to change their habits.
people are weak physically not because they can't be strong, but because they are weak in character and are unable to consistently strive to better themselves.
i'm still trying to shake the bitchness. once you make the choice to change your lifestyle, a huge part of it is rooting through your own life and dropping bad habits one by one. there's never a time when you can stop trying to improve, because if you stop caring you'll lose all the progress you made.
everybody wants to be a bodybuilder, but don't no one want to lift heavy ass weight.
eat clean, lift heavy, be consistent = gains
eat shit, avoid adding weight, and skipping workouts = being normal

After the 50th time you get asked to spot some random because you are one of the few guys who looks like he lifts you start to weigh up the pros and cons of either moving to a bodybuilding gym or building one at home.

You guys wouldn't believe how many mires do I get every time I deadlift 4 plates or over.

Attached: tumblr_oxdu0nG8d31ukbyx0o1_1280.png (800x1131, 409K)

There is a tornado of misinformation about fitness out there. It took me upwards of 10 years of lifting to fully filter the bullshit out of from the real science. It was pretty difficult.

fucking this
>move into college, decide to go to gym
>every single dude looks jacked and strong
>every single one lifted sub 1/2/3/4
WTF fit how do they look so good being so weak

I think it depends on the type of gym you go to.

If you go to a gym with strength focus or even a powerlifting gym, you see alot more young guys rapping out 2 pl8.

2pl8 is achievable for most natties who have been training for 3+ years.

What kind of gym do you go to? I go to a MMA gym (I live in a tiny Town, the other 2 gyms are shit) In my experience, almost everyone I see looks like they lift, there's always someone doing deadlifts, and only a handful of people look like they're just starting out.

Because they just lift for the mires.

this

working out today this asian dude looks pretty fucking good
proceeds to OHP 85 lbs for sets of 5
mind blowing. and jealous.

if you go to a normie gym you get normie people

i've always went to a lifter's gym and there's always someone there who can squat 4 plates

Because you're thinking in terms of Chad standards. 1 plate for reps is pretty strong by normie standards.

I saved you're image.

because size and strength are actually 2 separate things

because they're training with higher reps and more volume than you are

i've never seen a muscular guy who couldn't put up respectable numbers

zero? that's how many i get, i only got a mire from some old black guy once when i pulled 500

because most people are just fucking around (especially when it comes to anything that isn't upper body), only compare yourself to people who are training seriously

The amount of weight you see someone lifting doesn't mean shit. The only thing that matters is the pump they get. If you do 5 sets on the bench, but don't go 100% on the first 4 because you want to max on your 5th set you're really only hacking one set out. The other 4 have been wasted.

I usually just load a weight I can get 20-30 reps with and hammer it out. That means 1pl8 on the bench. I have no idea what my max is, and I don't care. I just care about getting a sick as fuck pump.

Attached: 1534352342431.jpg (481x269, 15K)

>The other 4 have been wasted.
you are utterly retarded and have no idea what you're talking about

Every gym I've been to the majority of people benched 2plate+ every time, I always found myself being dyel for only benching 185

So why don't you just do sets of 100 with just the bar

that's the one lift normalfags actually train seriously, so the competition is the stiffest there

it's easy to be the strongest squatter or deadlifter or overhead presser in your commercial gym, nobody else even fucking does those lifts but you and maybe some 50kg indian who just pirated starting loo

Who gets a sicker pump, a guy who goes to failure with one plate 5 times or a guy who goes to failure once (being a 1 rep max) and for the first 4 sets didn't even do half the reps he could have? Why don't you try it and tell me how sore you feel in the morning, don't take my word for it. Fucking Rich Piana swore by this philosophy, and I doubt you are bigger than he is.
>But he roided!
He was still a fucking giant. I bet if you get on roids you'd still not even come close.

Because I prefer 20-30 reps.

Could be their lighter day, could be that they do high volume low weight. Im 6'3 and lift for aesthetics beacuse 1. I need all the mass I can get and 2. its cool to dead lift 4 plates but personally I would rather look good and be weaker than look like shit and put up high weight

Attached: 1521391490324.jpg (960x960, 216K)

Post body? Not doubting your methods, but I want to see what kind of physique you get by just chasing a pump in the gym every day

>starting loo

Attached: 1526759842794.png (600x536, 253K)

It feels very good to get mires from normies. Some guys said it was incredible watching me training and that I was a strong af. I nearly blushed

Attached: 1521864568910.png (271x210, 51K)

>Mfw can't go over 1pl8
>Been lifting for 2 years
>Eating right too
>Everything else goes up though

Wide range of reasons
> Lazy
> Uncommitted
> Busy/full life
Name me a few billionaires that are jacked. We all have different priorities, plus most people are fucking lazy.

Because Jow Forums standards are different from normie standards. A guy benching 135lbs for reps is impressive to normies. Ottermode is "big" for normies.

LOL went to gym for years thinking I'ld get big having a coffee and cig for breaky, lunch

i think lmao1plate is pathetic except maybe if you weight like 120lbs soaking wet, i reffuse to believe normies are that retarded

Many literally think they're going to blow up to piano proportions if they even look at a plate so they lift light

Attached: homerchu.jpg (480x480, 30K)

They excersise. They don't train.

I reached 2pl8 bench 3rm after like ~10 months of serious lifting. Is that good or dyel

Or they have different goals than you?

Normies are absolutely that retarded

My gym is kind of a combination of normie and lifter gym. A lot of jacked guys in the free weight section who are lifting respectable weight while a shit load of normies on treadmills and machines up front

for me it's because I can never keep consistently lifting for more than a few months at a time so I'm almost never reaching my peak strength I hit in college, I just work my way up from baby weights and then lose it then start over again

their goal is to waste their own time?

You aren't wasting your time if you aren't benching one plate. You can train for aesthetics with much lower weight than that, and if you can't see why someone might pick aesthetics over strength then you need to curb your autism.

On a more philosophical note, wasting time is impossible unless that person decides that their time is or was wasted (even "was" is a bit fuzzy because of the nature of human memory). Why are you wasting your time on Jow Forums? Why are you wasting your time replying to me?

I both squat and bench lmao1plate, in my eyes and Jow Forums's I am pathetic. But I have unironically been called strongest dude in the gym by at least 3 people, normies really are retarded

6 day stregth program?

idk what you're doing wrong, I'm 5'8 129lbs and just went over 1pl8 for my sets, been lifting since January coming from being a literal skeleton who could only do 25s

You're so stupid i don't feel like wasting my time correcting you because you're such an irredeemable stupid fucking moron I don't want to help you but you won't listen to me because you're a retard so I'll bite

>Getting a pump does absolutely nothing for hypertrophy (or atleast hasn't been proven to do anything)
>you shouldn't be training to failure, sets to failure add little extra stimulus for growth and lower MRV (maximal recoverable volume) greatly
>only training in one rep range is dumb enough as is, but only doing 20 or more is the stupidest fucking thing ever quite possibly as 20 plus re training is mostly training muscular endurance and metabolite training. You're completely neglecting neuromuscular efficiency training and not even really accumulating volume given the low ass weight you'd use to do 20 plus reps
>you've never read any reputable literature that tells you that is an acceptable way to train (because it doesn't fucking exist) and either decided this is a good idea or took some bro's word for it because you're a brain dead sheep moron.
You probably eat a keto diet you fucking plebian

Do the human race a favor and kill yourself before you pass on your retard genes. I would sleep much better at night knowing your bloodline ended with you.

Also,
>post body

pic related is me 2.5 years as a natty with a 235 strict OHP

>You can train for aesthetics with much lower weight than that
Sure, but you won't make any noticeable progress. What's the phrase for that? Ah, yes. A waste of time.
Although I do agree with your philosophical reasoning. If it's time you enjoyed, was it truly wasted?
I'd argue yes in this instance because they're working for a better body but making no progress at all, kek

You dont need to progressively get stronger at the gym for it to be worth it. You can do the same workout over and over with the same weights and it’s still exercise, which is better than being completely sedentary.

>that face
>underwear showing
>that pose
>taking a picture in a public lockerroom

you look like a fucking moron

Lmao yea today I saw a manlet that looked quite built, super wide chest. I'm a 6'1 170lbs lanklet so I assumed that he would obviously be a lot stronger than me.

He procedes to OHP doing reps with 10 lbs on each side, total of 65 lbs. wtf man

checked

fag

Based and designated

great job responding to absolutely nothing in my post

Why do you consider everything that does not yield results to be a waste of time?

>why do you consider investing into something that gives 0 value back a waste of time?
Are you really that retarded?

Post your body.

Agreed completely on the rep range. I train 8-12 for my high rep days. Optimal for my body is a warmup/10/6/4, but I've seen great strength gainz with 5/3/1 with the last set being as many as I can do.

always knew satan disliked manlets
we're god's choosen race

Because 1234 isn’t actually intermediate.

I go to a medium sized gym with 7 half-racks, pretty decent.

Rarely see anyone doing more than:
50 kg OHP
100 kg Squat
120 kg Deadlift
60 kg BB row

Most people there seem to be using a rep range of 8-10, even for the biggest compounds. Like, I saw this (more built than me) one guy doing quarter reps (10 reps a set) with a measly 60kg and struggling.

There are some strong dudes there, though...but nothing too crazy. Only once have I seen someone pulling >4 plates (DL) for reps, and only once have I seen someone do 1½ plates (Bench).

Because normies are inconsistent, are ignorant of proper training and don't eat right

Thanks bro. Im gonna jack off now. Dedicating my nut to you.
Can I know your name? What is your name?
I wanna moan it when I cumsies.
"Oh Bradley. Bradley! Braaaaaaadley!" in a gay voice. Is this okay?
Keep me posted.

The only jacked billionaire is Jeff Bezos.

Fucking dicklet

Not having a goal isnt a goal. Reality is they have goals, they just dont work towards them.

>OHP 85

That's girl tier

Cringe

t. 5ft6 man mad because his dick is 3x2

I started really focusing on increasing my lifts I max 120kg bench and 170kg squat at 85kg and lots of people mire me, but I don't feel like its too strong. I finish my set of squats and people say "wow one day ill be that strong" etc. and it confuses me, 170kg isn't that strong to me. average gym goers are so weird

Because the average gym goer is trying to actually get laid, not look like a bloatmaxxed fucking weirdo

The average 24 hour fitness member looks way better than nearly everyone eat your average powerlifting gym.

Maybe he's a grower

>I usually just load a weight I can get 20-30 reps with and hammer it out
>That means 1pl8 on the bench
that means you're a fucking dyel shit

“‘“‘“‘“Natty””””””

>see OP's pic
>instantly check for penis
Fuck you, Jow Forums

Haha this lol. Skinny is so in right now you only need to tone up a little.

Blahino, Ironically, made a good video about this

youtube.com/watch?v=6ncraB0_vXY

>why is the average gym goer so weak?
i dunno, different starting points
most people these days, especially in cities dont grow up with alot of physical work

even tho i grew up in a small village i was always kind of a nerd and because of that a lanklet

till i was 18 years old i didnt do anything that required my body to aquire strength which lead me to start out with those 1RMs

40kg deadlift
30kg squat
40kg bench (i did do pushups in gym class so i guess that movement was a know pattern for me already)

now after 4 years of moderate training my PRs are

120kg squat
160kg deadlift
100kg bench
70kg ohp

as you can see my lifts increased a shitton. now a buddy of mine started his first deadlift with 130kg, sqaut about 100kg and bench about 80kg

he now is able to squat 140kg deadlift 200kg and bench 115kg... if you compare progress i progressed much more in the same time but still appear weak... its just that some people actually started training from a very young age while that doesnt necessarily means going to the gym and other legit started from scratch much later

in my opinion if i can reach intermediate/advanced stats on exrx for dl, squat, bench and ohp and can maintain them with a bodyfat % of 10-12 i am more than happy.

with my progress i will probably need 3 more years to get there tho

also never underestimate genetics and bloatmaxers. if i shovel in food nonstop my progress goes through the roof. i dont appreciate the fat that comes with it tho

Nice post

Exercising is a goal.

>0 value
Except that it burns calories and is infinitely better than doing nothing?

2 plates is achievable in less than 6 months

>benching more than 1 plate
do 10x10 of 1 plate and you'll see

>120kg squat
>160kg deadlift
>100kg bench
>70kg ohp

wow, i'm not too far behind your squat and deadlift (by 8 kg on both), but I'm 15 kg and 20 kg behind on bench and ohp

depends on how people train, a lot of regular gym goers that don't specialise into specific regiment (for growing muscle, athleticism, strength, etc.) tend to lack focus or understanding about training specificity that would allow you to be able to consistently perform. Most people don't know the principles of overloading/deloading, even if they already are strong and can do 1/2/3/4. There's also supercompensation, rest interval manipulation, antagonisms, etc etc A lot of people go to gym just because they think that alone makes them healthy. It's like the difference between dieting to lose weight and picking out a diet in order to meet your daily needs - the objective, means and the thought behind them are completely different, and that's what frames performance.

Rofl 3+ years? Jesus I feel sorry for you bro. literally jesus is with you, he holds you everywhere you go and gives you that extra push to be able to open the door leading into the gym

>4 years
>120kg squat
>160kg deadlift
>100kg bench
>70kg ohp
yikes

Any bullet points you'd care to share mate?

Because the average gym goer isn't artistically chasing their dysmorphia issues and trying to be the biggest, yolked out meatball in the world.
The average gym goer is just trying to shed some fat and look more aesthetic.
That's why curl bros exist. They'll spend an hour on just biceps, no compounds, high volume low weight. Because they just wanna look good. They dont have this fantasy of deadlifting a car off a supermodel one day like alot of Jow Forumstards probably do.

Attached: 1533747073609.gif (735x920, 167K)

i always had strong shoulders as far as i can remember. ohp is by far my best exercise where i progess without much effort

for the way i train and how much time i put into it i think it quite okay. especially since i didnt gain any fat

who cares, he made good progress and has some good lifts.
I don't understand fit's obsession with this, it's fine for people to progress at their own leisurely pace.

Wow

>ask guy to spot me 2pl8
>"is this your max"

They might be but they all look better than me tbqh
