OP if this happened to you then you've become a 'teachable moment' for everyone else.

Too many of you guys, in your ego-quests to become like professional bodybuilders, think you can get away with taking shortcuts and get away with rushing your progress on what are frankly and objectively dangerous lifts in the first place. You don't pay enough attention to building up core strength (and by that I mean all the supportive muscles in your abdomen and back), and ignoring signs that you don't have the flexibility to do freebar squats or deadlifts properly, instead convincing yourselves that you're a pussy unless you just 'push through' the pain. Then when you don't think you're making fast enough progress (because you think that in just a few months you can 'catch up' to someone who lifts for a living like a pro bodybuilder) you again think you can cheat physics and physiology and just pile on more plates and again 'push through it' without any consequences. Then when you get a serious, life-changing injury to your spine or other part of your body, maybe you blame the program instead of yourselves. Then there's the fact that you personally may just not be suited for what it is you're trying to do, or at least not suited to the methods you're using to get there, but your ego and pride prevent you from using a machine or a leg press instead because you've been convinced by Jow Forums and others that 'those are for weak pussies' so you stay away from them and get injured instead. You have no one but yourself to blame for getting injured, I'm sorry to say, but that's the way it is for you now, OP, your life is changed forever. Get used to it, you can't 'push through' this without literally crippling yourself, too bad you weren't smarter about it in the first place.

I took a trip to snap city back in 2015 due to a sketchy last rep at 495x5. I so wanted to complete that set of 5 at lmao5plate and my core just gave out on one side. Nailed the rep though. Pain was excruciating after that and I was barely able to move at first, but slowly I started working my way back up. After gradually getting back into the gym, started doing weighted pullups rather than rows, front squats instead of back squats, etc. Eventually started doing trapbar deadlifts and then transfering back to low-weight conventional. And during this entire process I've had plenty of setbacks where I've tweaked my back and needed to back off and start again. Currently I'm at 405x5 for deadlift. Not the first time I've been back here, but it's an ongoing process.
