from my 4 months of experience in which i gained 20 pounds, lost 10, looked fatter at lower weight, looked leaner at thinner weight, tried 12 programs, etc i can confidently say that it depends on your level and goals ie bulking or cutting or recomp and body type ie fat skinny skinnyfat

if you're a noob who wants to gain weight do increase rest days with fullbody 3x a week because it'd give you a good strength base and increase appetite

Skinnyfat, eat at maintenence give or take 200c, decrease rest days, go for 5 or 6 days a week and stay active, try PPL and do some cardio and ABS. Focus on upper body mass if you're skinny fat especially back especially LATS AND CHEST AND ABS

Fat just eat less and don't care about making muscles till you're skinny fat or skinny

Just rest on the same day you workout you fucking brainlet

Where are you in your training?
If you're doing a full body LP like SL or SS, then the second one is better. If you're doing something closer to splits then the first schedule is probably better.

I do full body on Mon,Wed,Fri
I rest on Tues,Thur, Sat, Sun
