Redpill me on bulking and cutting

>eat too much
>get fat
>eat much less
>lose fat
It seems like you just enjoy getting fat.

while in a caloric surplus the manly men on this board lift a bunch and when theres more calories than the body needs their mucles get bigger, then they cut to get rid of the fat and boom you get drool over material

>when theres more calories than the body needs their mucles get bigger
Because of the protein though, right?
>then they cut to get rid of the fat
The fat that they got because of excess calories, right?
Why not just eat only the calories you need and be sure to get enough protein? What purpose does getting fat serve?

>Because of the protein though, right?
Your body can only utilize a maximum amount of protein (roiders excluded), you need the carbs for example to get more energy, to lift bigger weights

Getting "fat" serves to make muscle building easier
not all the weight you gain during a bulk is fat (unless you are a pleb)
and then you lose the fat you gained during a cut
its kind of like a repeating curve, but slightly slanted upwards, if that makes sense

no what i do is
>eat more
>get fat
>eat less
>lose muscle

happens more often than what OP suggests

>you need the carbs for example to get more energy, to lift bigger weights
If you needed them for energy then why didn't you use them instead of storing them on your hips for later?

Getting fat and remaining active is the quickest way to get big calves.

ideally you should be never gaining or losing weight too quickly

bulking is something you should only do if you're really skinny and cutting is something you should do if you're fat. you should avoid both those states though, therefore no smart person ever needs to cut or bulk

you need to bulk and cut on small surplus/deficit

something around ~200kcals, ideally past the beginner phase you should gain 1-2lbs/month and if cutting, lose 0.5/1% of bw per month as well

I think this rounds up to 1kg for both bulking and cutting, I took this info from eric helms and he's american, 1lb = 450g

OP, don’t fall for the ”le GOMAD xD” and eat 5000 calories a day, you only need a small caloric surplus to nudge your body into an anabolic state

>no smart person ever needs to cut or bulk
ok wise man how the fuck do i get rid of body fat then

Donut cheeseburgers are so fucking good it's unbelievable.

how fucking fat exactly are you to actually know how they taste m8?

so what?

Muscle grow better at around 15% bodyfat

>fat
>smart

Fatties like to fat
I've heard the exact opposite of this
>going over 15-20%bf will make fat storage easier. And if you stay lean then muscle building is better and fat storage isn't as significant
So which is it, broscientists?

use your brain cells and just think

or are those fat cells...

You should never actually "get fat" when you bulk unless you have Costco sized tubs of roids and other shit to help you win bb comps.

Get bigger but don't lose your abs. Don't have abs? Don't bulk

It will make you fat and diabetic in the long run.

The redpill is that alternating bulk/cut cycles is a faster way to get big and strong than just clean bulking. Lots of factors come into play, but I think a lot of it has to do with miscounting calories.

It takes some time to get TDEE pinned down. On top of trying to figure a TDEE and misinterpretting what the scale says it is easy to miscount 200+ calories a day even when weighing everything like an autist. Add being a noobie and its all fucked. Easier to just TDEE calculator and add +/- 1000kcal for most people.

>proving him right with your reading comprehension
He's saying that you should cut, but the fact that you need to cut indicates that you aren't smart, because smart people don't get fat.

> The redpill is that alternating bulk/cut cycles is a faster way to get big and strong than just clean bulking.
Is it, though? Seems to me that it's slow either way, and cyclers just like doing things even when they're not actually helping.

Makes sense to me. It'd be a lot easier to err on the high side and then skip a few meals later than to eat the perfect diet.
I swear to god though if you fuck up and get fat doing this you're an idiot. The kind of love for food it takes to do this takes years of fatlogic to develop.

>brainlet
You bulk and then gain weight. You gain some amount of muscle if you have been making progress in the gym.

After a while you cut, and loss weight, and a little muscle

>eat too much
>get fat
If you're working on, you gain muscle and fat. Then when you cut back you lose fat but keep the muscle.

1000 surplus, "just in case"?

Unless you're on steroids ask me how I know you've literally never seen your abs

Post body with timestamp twink

Caloric surplus is a meme. Eat clean and plenty of protein. Fat fucks, you'll die at 40.
