I just buzzed my 4 year beard into stubble, feelsbadman, but it'll grow back. I think if you can grow a decent beard and have a job that warrants it, you should definitely do it, just make sure to give it a little maintenance now and then
Why did you shave?
Starting lineman school/apprenticeship Monday. I've been a tree climber for 4 years and no one I work with has seen my face. Figured I show up beardless on my last day of work and give the guys a surprise
thats horrible desu
That person should not have a beard.
I agree
Beards are great for facelets.
If you have a decent face, shave.
That’s great man. Sounds like it’ll be a hilarious surprise
>Having a beard in 2018
Beards were trendy for a few years in the middle part of the decade but they're insanely out of style at this point. Has nothing to do with le basedboy meme. It's just that the trend is over and it's time to move on.
Shave it clean, keep the hair high short and tight and avoid tattoos at all costs
Beards are the new cargo shorts
Fuck trends.
Fuck trends and your post man. I'm jawlet and ugly. Beard is mandatory for me.
Unfortunately beards have been completely co-opted by soibois who use beards as a way hide their weak/fat jaw. If you have a good strong jaw you should show it off rather than hiding it. For me personally, I have a strong jaw, but I also don't like being completed naked on the face, so I compromise by using a buzzer to trim it to 1/8". That way you get the heavy stubble look that's not a full-fledged beard and still shows off your chin/jaw. And law maintenance.
every time i see a beard I think weak jaw, what are you hiding?
Ah, the riddle of beard. Shall I tell you? It’s the least I can do.
Hair isn't strong, boy. Gains are stronger. Look around you. That is aesthetics, boy. That is power: the look and power of gains. What is a beard compared to the sick cunt that wears it? Look at the strength of your body, the desire in your heart.
If I let my facial hair grow out, after 3 to 4 days I get these red patches on my skin around the mustache area and skin starts to scale. Its like dandruff or dermatitis or something. Then when I shave I look like I have face aids for a day or two. Cortisone cream temporarily fixes it. Needless yo say I have to shave at least every 2 to 3 days to prevent outbreaks. Also at day 7 my neck gets super itchy so that always halts my beard growing experiments. Its a shame because I can grow thick facial hair fast and always wanted to grow a full beard.
YOu stupid fucking paethtiic loser :joyoyoyoy: hahahahaha oh no no nohahaha
Once your large enough to go clean shaven and buzzed head you've made it
Definitely overplayed now, everyone in their twenties had bears for the past 5 years, nice haircut and cleanshave with business casual is the way to go if you want to stand out now.
Light stubble/5o'clock shadow is also acceptable.
stubble + moustache. Go full bugenhagen.
I think beards are starting to go out of fashion. I'm really bored of having one but my gf cried when I shaved mine off said I was a 4/10 without. Down from a 7/10 with a beard so guess i'm stuck with it forever.
It really depends on the individual. Anti-beard people claim that only low-test bugmen wear beards in order to cover their double-chins. And while I don't think that's always the case, there's definitely an argument to be made. I don't see it as a negative though. If you have a weak chin and poor jawline, I'd argue you SHOULD grow a beard to make it look better.
A beard is like a fedora or trench coat.
The people who think it’s a get out of effort free card to looking good will naturally look like retards, because they don’t get that it’s an accessory. Someone who puts the effort in to make it work, or is fit enough to look good normally, won’t have nearly as many problems.
Absolutely. And specificity is also important. It's like how different hairstyles look good or bad depending on your facial features, face shape, hairline, and so on. You can't just see a hairstyle that looks good on one guy and ask for the same cut and it will look just as good on you.
Take him to the bathroom of woe.
Shave him.
>You mogged my mother, my father, my people!
fuck off
i hate shaving and have been able to grow a full beard since 16
1/16" trim in the summer, 1/4"+ in the winter
short tidy beards are still good. Just don't do the nasty pube beard shit that soibois do.
Unless you're an arab/paki. Those guys look fucking weird with the really short 1/16" beards that look like they're painted on with a magic marker.
Beards are make-up for men, everyone knows this.
I wish I could grow one
Let me quote Esther Vilar for you, OP. She wrote this in 1971
>women are indifferent to their efforts and revert to a standard style, short or long. The same is true of beards. Only oversensitive men - usually ones with intellectual pretensions - who want to appear mentally tough by letting their facial hair grow indiscriminately wear a full beard for any length of time. It will be tolerated by women, however, for a beard is an important indication of a man's character and therefore of
the way in which he might be most easily exploited. (His field of work will usually be that of the neurotic intellectual.)
>muh trends
kys
do you want to look like an arab/pajeet?
ask yourself that and take action
All my friends say I would look like a viking if I grew my beard out. I won't though cause my shitty job at Loblaws makes people with beards wear beard nets
Best facial hair is anywhere from 5 o'clock shadow to short stubble assuming you have a decent jawline/chin and thick enough facial hair to pull off a very short style. If you have less thick hair but a good lower face clean shaven is the way to go, if you have a bad jawline/chin you should probably do a full beard to cover it up.
Based. Thanks for the knowledge Doom. Have some bitches
i have like 99th percentile beard genetics in terms of coverage/fullness and thickness/how fast it grows and i've had one for years now. i think it's time to shave it or at least buzz it soon. it feels sad but it will grow back
Mine grew out of pure laziness. People got so used to it though I've been told I should never go without it. I've also been told I look worse without it.
That's how I ended up first growing my beard too. Always shaved it, but then when I started grad school I got so fucking busy that I just ended up growing a beard without even consciously thinking about it. And I thought "eh, this looks pretty decent". When I come back after christmas break I decide to shave it though, and when I walk into the lecture hall, everyone says "whoa, no beard anymore, I liked you better with it". And so that was that.
Now I'm just trimming it really close though so it's basically long stubble.
It’s been so long I nearly forgot about bitches for Thulsa Doom
>tfw female cousin and half-sister mired my beard
if you can grow a nice thick beard and your job allows it, then yes, because a majority of people can't grow legitimately nice beards
if you have scraggly pube hairs on your face, even if it takes the shape of a beard, don't grow it, maybe minoxidil will help thicken it out, maybe not
It's very simple: the beard trend has been beaten to death by soibois trying to hide their fat faces.
If you're fit, then show it. No longer than a stubble, but ideally as short as you can go without looking like a child.
>tfw dig that hair cut but wouldn't know where to begin if I wanted to ask for one
>plus keeping it in place seems tricky
1/4” buzz cut head and beard. It’s perfect.
My natural face is scowl. I look friendlier with a full beard.
how to do it? just shave everything except the mustache and let it grow back?
>t. 56 percenter
I'm white, so it's not possible for me to ever look like that
That or just hit everything with a short buzz except the stache, either way works
red beard
darker as it gets longer
