Be me

>be me
>went cocoon mode for the past 8 months
>have barely seen any friends etc
>only working out, eating properly, etc so got super buff
>during that time, family dog for 15 years passed away
>as an autistic coping mechanism i drew pictures of my dog
>fast forward to yesterday
>have friends (1 guy and 3 girls) over in my apartment for pregame before hitting the clubs
>"wow user long time no see"
>"user you got a lot bigger, wow it looks good"
>we're playing a game and we need some paper
>point where the paper is, tell them to grab whatever
>they grab a notepad
>browse through it
>"hey user you drew a nice picture of a dog here"
>"oh yeah... oh..."
>"oh here's another" *flips page* "and one more"
>they browse through the hundreds of detailed pictures i've been drawing of my deceased dog

This. You fucked up by being insecure

it's kinda touching how even after a dog dies, it's memory finds a way to keep it's owner ok

Honestly don't beat yourself up thinking that they found it weird, they probably just thought you liked drawing doggie pics and if you explained the situation then they'd find it admirable and sweet. The only bad thing to do in a situation like that is not acknowledge it, when things are left to hang in silence then they just fester into negatives.
There's nothing wrong with admitting that you faced loss in your life, and this can be any loss, loss of a beloved pet, family member, even a bad breakup, or losing a good job. We all experience loss and if you admit to it and open up to them then it just shows your humanity and makes you more of a relatable human being since I guarantee whoever you speak to has experienced some kind of loss, and has coped with it in their own unique way.
Also they're your friends, they won't judge you for being hurt by the loss of your family pet, if they do then they aren't your friends.

Please post a drawing though, I think it sounds really sweet
