Even people who don't lift herniate their back. Admittedly it's probably at lower rates, but lifting well carries with it a very low risk of injury as compared to other sports.

It would be unhealthy to stop exercising altogether, but I challenge you to find me one sport that would interest me and be safer than lifting weights.

Today was squat day and I didn't want to do my prescribed reps,
so I did my bodyweight (87.5kg) for age (26) reps.
I felt like I was gonna puke at the end.
It has definitely been the hardest thing I've done so far in my 1.5 years lifting.
Whats the stupidest thing you've ever done in the gym?

It only happened after I pulled 260kg a couple of months ago and it never fixed itself for some reason.
I'll give it a try, though my feet are turned out quite a bit when I pull sumo. It also hurts during conventional pulls for some reason.

I'll shall make my own TM!
I remove recovery day and do 2 intensity days along with the volume day.
On 1 day I try to PR OHP and Deadlift and on the other Squat and Bench.
This way I don't squat 3x a week like a T-Rex and focus more on upper body by trying to PR both OHP and Bench each week instead of alternating!
Add some extra exercises on each day and you're set :))

If that data was ever made available, I'm sure you would find that sports like golf, bowling, baseball, and a dozen other sports would have way higher instances of lower back injuries.

The only lifters I've ever met in person with herniated discs or attempting too much weight usually using straps, or they didn't have a lick of muscle on their body and they were spinelifting the deadlift up.

I don't get how people have more fun powerlifting than doing most other sports. Especially team-based sports. I'm an autistic sociopath but I still love being part of the team. Powerlifting is just, "go to the gym 3-6 times a week, do the same movements again and again". I only powerlift because it's probably the best/easiest methodology for getting stronger.

I like powerlifting because I have a career and a family and I don't have time to do team sports anymore. I did that in college and high school.

You can always join a powerlifting gym, or mix things up and get into strongman. If you don't like it, stop doing it.
