Update and req 4 adv

after about 2 months of really clean eating,
i went from 450 lbs to 430 lbs.

i finally had a real cheat day dessert:
chocolate cake and chocolate frosting with vanilla ice cream, redi-whip and hershey's syrup.
now i feel like shit.
any suggestions as to what i can do to satisfy that urge for reward without consuming what is virtually poison?

Workout to keep your weak mind off of killing yourself

The solution that worked for me is to eat something that is similar to a lesser extent when you get the craving.
I used to get strong cravings for icecream cones and i'd eat whole grain cereal instead of that (still not that healthy but at least it's not icecream) and i started craving the cereal instead.

really i just wanted to do something to get it over with so i could move on and go another several weeks without. i may have... i KNOW i over did it. some high % cocoa low % sugar dark chocolate may be what i try next time. - but trying to stay away from carbs and sugars in general, the fruits are evil ninjas. they have just as much sugar as cake/candy but are billed as healthy since they are natural. fun-fact, fruit sugar is fructose which does NOT play by the rules glucose does and can really screw up the insulin/glucagon balance in diabetics.

That craving is really just for something sweet. What you consumed actually tastes terrible, which you'll realize in time.

Get a small bar of high quality dark (50%+) chocolate and have a piece of that. Take the time to sit and enjoy the flavor. Don't just inhale it like some disgusting piece of shit.

You'll learn to appreciate the subtleties of the flavor and add minimal calories to your day.

I eat low carb high fat, at the end of the day I have one piece (like the tiny little square) of 90% cacao dark chocolate. "Normal" chocolate is too sweet for me now, and it's rich enough that it totally hits that spot. Also, don't be intimidated by the nutrition info on the packaging, you'll notice the serving sizes are usually for half a bar, or a third of the bar. If you calculate the calories/carbs for a single square, you'll see it's super reasonable.
