It feels pretty good but I hate cleaning it. Using hand is more simple, faster and easier. If you buy one never put it back into the case after washing it. Let it dry outside or else it will smell like death.

The psychological effects of having a vaguely human size object to hold at night pretty much neutralized my insomnia.

I have a blank daki with a plain white peach skin cover. It quickly ended up along my bed up against the wall, it is simply too warm to sleep while holding, and an awkward shape for putting under your arm. It was not expensive at all though, and it's a nice headrest when watching tv.

Have you tried sleeping over the blankets with your daki and letting her keep you warm instead? That's what I do during the summer months

Are you sure there are no websites that deliver to your country? There are a few reliable ones that deliver to almost anywhere. Try to avoid ebay, its full of chink knock-offs. Where are you from, I could look into it for you?

Shops that sell pillows rarely have them. If you don't want to order from abroad then first look for companies that sell specialized pillows and mattresses like Dormeo and all other similar brands online. If you are in the EU you can get them from EU amazon. Also since the pillows themselves almost always go with the anime cover daki sites are the usual suspects. ADP sells them at reasonable price and I know they deliver to almost anywhere. Just search on google "dakimakura" or "dakimakura online" and look for sites that deliver to your country and make a choice. If all else fails then I guess you could turn to eBay, just make sure the person you're buying from is trustworthy.
