I'm 5'11 1/2, but tell girls I'm 6ft when they ask. Who knows, some of them might actually be shallow enough to ghost me for being a cm shorter than 6ft even though they've already taken a liking to me. I've got no hangups bout lying to people like this.

She doesn't know what she expected because there's practically no noticeable different between 5'11" and 6' or at least it's so insignificant that no normal person would figure your friend should be taller, if he's really 5'11".

If you're at least 2.5 to 3 inches taller than the woman, just say you're 6 feet tall. What's she going to do? Measure you?

Not that user, but I use halfs simply because it's more accurate. If you were 183cm for example, would you round it down to 180cm? Of course not.
