Full body is optimal but virtually unsustainable in the long run. After that, push+legs, pull+legs.
Benefits are a much higher calorie/fat burn and a very discernible testosterone flush. It also is great for ferreting out imbalances. It also makes the hypertrophy mantra of 'every muscle group every 48 hours' really easy even with random rest days.
Cons are long workouts and difficulty maintaining progressive overload from overall fatigue.
I would recommend full body to basically all beginners until they can't maintain the volume, or can't improve on weight.

Progressive overload week to week is only a thing with complete beginners who have less then 2 years.
It is not an issue with lifters who have a few years under their belt.
Hell it's not an issue with beginners because it's not a race.
