This isn't about engaging in a sport. Mindless consumer behaviour in relation to sports is /sp/. It would be relevant to Jow Forums if it was discussing the varying fitness benefits of given sports, techniques therein, or training methods for.

I get what you're saying, but I think its still relevant. Not everything on a fitness forum needs to be about working out. It's a fair expectation that people who are interested in working out are also interested in sports competitions - it'd make Jow Forums boring if all anybody posted was about how to optimize their lifts.

But I agree that some off topic posting should go. All the incel/tinder/etc posting is a good example, since those usually just devolve into Jow Forums shitposting and end up having nothing to do with athleticism/fitness. Those threads are usually just angry virgins who don't lift.

Don't know if they do this in USA but in UK now, they often have a female pundit on football sports shows or matches. why do many people seem to think that athletes get their money specifically because they are doing something athletic?
it's basically like music conserts or theater, they get payed by how many people are watching the spectator sport, the more popular ones get more money
it's not even necessarily the best players that get the biggest pay, it's more about how big of a crowd they can bring in consistently
female sports just simply dont bring in that big of a watching crowd, mostly because men prefer watching men play the sport well and women like looking at hot/popular men
