How many calories

Starting with 1600 because of budget reasons. I don't want to eat too many eggs or butter to avoid diarrhea. I'm going to check local meat dealers for some cheap beef. Then I'm going for 2000+ (cutting).

I've been doing it for a year. Only slip was on vacation where I had some fruit.
You will have poop problems for a couple weeks. And you'll be hungry as fuck for at least the first week. BUTTER and CHUG WATER. You'll get over it. Butter is the shit. I get my blood checked every 3 months.

It's a good way to live, but it's difficult at first. Now, I don't even think about it. Fatty burgers (prepped on sunday) for lunch. 2 patties with cheese. Eat those around 10-11.
Then dinner is steak or fish, a huge portion. Eating all the fat and cooking in a ton of butter. If I work hard one day, I'll throw in some boiled eggs. Weekends are usually omelets for breakfast. Then some kind of steak or soup or something for dinner (GOOD bone broth, steak, butter).
I do use spices. And watch out for sugar being added to the meat you buy. It blew my mind.

I've been carnivore for three years.

Here's some of my tips.

Eggs. Get them, eat them, eat plenty of them. If you have your own place and there's no restrictions, get your own chickens too. You do not need to be worried about the cholesterol. Your body will have a certain amount of cholesterol based on it's need. if dietary cholesterol goes up, then your body makes less. If your dietary goes down, your body makes more. Eggs are literally the perfect food. It is a self contained animal maker. It has all the building blocks necessary for the creation of a living breathing animal from a fucking zygote. It's all good.

As far as meat, go beef. And discount shop. Watch the ads for your local grocery store and keep an eye out on sale prices. My local grocery store has buy 1 get 1 free on roasts right now, I bought ten ~3.5lb roasts at $3/lb after the sale price. Last week they had marked down a bunch of preformed 1/3lb 80% hamburger patties at what came out at $2.35/lb.

Buy sales, and have plenty of freezer space. Personally I've got a big ass deep freezer chest. Also get to know the guy at the butcher counter and find out when the store does their markdowns. Depending on how their meat comes in they may just be throwing their bones away if you're a fan of broth (im not but my dog is)

If it was simply a high fat diet it would look more like keto, with avocados and such. Because butter, mile etc come from animals. The point is that you eat like humans did for tens of thousands of years. Which in many places was 90% meat, fat, milk, eggs, organs etc. Fruit was rare in many places but you can include it if you want. Many places weren't ripe for fruit thus the carnivore diet was used to stay alive as prosper.

And when you consider the fact that the milk produced by cows is designed for cows, the structure of the protein and enzymes and all that. It isn't a stretch of the imagination to suggest that this may present complications for some individuals.

Personally I can do ghee. I can do ghee every day, week, and month long non-stop. But if I take even a modest amount of butter or cheese I get an all grumbly stomach, mild indigestion, and brain fog.
