I usually started with pull or lower days, but since i'm running a 5day variation 5/3/1, i'm doomed to bench on Mondays.
But why? I started changing up my schedule just so that I wasn't benching on monday, simply because every DYEL is in line with their fucking deli ticket numbers waiting for the damn thing.

"wide grip for wide back" is an extremely pervasive old wives tale. Other broscience has been long debunked, but this one in particular still sticks around. It's bunk. You just think a wide grip is helping because it feels harder to do. But all this really means is that it's biomechanically sub-optimal.

Just do a normal width grip. Not too wide, not too narrow. You'll know because it's the grip that will feel most natural and will allow you to do the highest number of reps
