I train muay thai but at a real situation I'd fighr dirty (go for the balls, eyes) if I ever had to defend myself
a couple of months of BJJ are enough to stop a person trying to fight you. But even then, you should never fight anyone on the street.
I do boxing and bjj just for the sake of it.
>a couple of months of BJJ are enough to stop a person trying to fight you
the fuck?
how?
Someone give me that picture of a fitizen rating martial arts grade
i.e boxing rating A, BJJ rating B etc
Pls?
Have some thicc for the trouble
Learn a MA that teaches you how to fight multiple opponents.
BJJ is only good for a 1-on-1 situation.
I like boxing. Never been in a fight outside of the ring, apart from high school.
The reason I had some fights in HS was because I went to a school that didn't separate the losers out. The type who had physical fights were the type who went on to be drug addicts, welfare bums and single mothers.
I only see these people when they're begging for change or begging for more welfare these days.
If you're concerned for your physical safety, get a gun. If you don't live in a state that allows open carry, lol @ u
>thicc
Disgusting.
Here's the chart, user. Better post a qt girl next time.
>>BJJ
>rolling around on the ground
>getting stabbed in the throat from behind
gg
Boxing/Savate
Calisthenics
Sprint training
Non sport Judo with some extra time spent on the wrestling portion of judo.
There, you can handle yourself 99% of the time.
>be mike tyson
>punching some dude on the street
>get shot from behind and die
>some murrican user on the internet claims that boxing is useless
user, bjj is pretty damned dangerous on the street.
Wrestling anyone is dangerous as fuck.
I can't tell you how many times I was punched or kicked in the face or had dudes jump me while using my country boy wrestling skillz to put a dude down.
Standing and banging is the safest choice and gives you the option to fight or run and assess the situation. Going for a piss poor takedown then getting them on the ground leaves you open unless you have a lot of dudes watching your back or it's a one on one thing.
Even then, if they aren't fighting fare then you're pretty fucked if they decide to pull a knife or bite a plug out of any part of you that's close to their mouth.
>BJJ
The whole “bite a grappler” argument always sounded dumb to me, since one of the first thing I learned in judo was head and neck control, as do wrestlers. I imagine BJJ is similar.
Actively doing BJJ, Judo and Aikido for all at least 6 years, with some boxing thrown in. In the one scenario where a drunk guy tried to tackle me I actually used Aikido, with a beautiful flying faceplant as a result. He was okay as the whole thing luckily happened on soft grassy sandy soil, just a bit groggy.
>tfw would love to take up Muay Thai
Any anons that can recommend it?
Training judo is different from actually wrestling people and grappling.
In my neck of the woods damn near every male knows how to wrestle or some basic grappling.
That's just how it is.
Biting is a thing.
god i wish that was me
no
Yeah but how would they bite you in a choke, a katagaruma (I typed that wrong I’m sure of it) or a pin where you push their arms in their face. Or any rear or back based pin/arm bar. Also what neck of the woods are you cause I know a lot of eurobros have trouble finding a decent wrestling school.
Implying standing gyaku ude garami is not taught in BJJ
>Multiple opponents
Yeah bro, sure.
>You ARE prepared for situation like that don’t you user?
Preperaed to get high kicked in the ring, yeah, more or less.
Outside the mats?
Nope, stop, don't.

thats why i have a knife

>Bargain with the police not to take security head responsible as nobody knows yet why cunt did this.
>Cunt got latter the same morning pulled off by the police
>he couldn't drive properly with ligaments of right thumb, index and pinky cut off and shards in the hand.
>Police saw the blood and brought him to hospital ER
>There he met colleague A with a broken hand going out of ER
>Tries to kick while under police care
>Get smashed on the ground.
>Suddenly, big bastards friends and familly come out to see what's the commotion.
>They see cunt and try to assault him while police restrain him.
>Major brawl ensues with both police and hospital security.
>Colleague A watches it for the fun and giggles then leaves without being noticed and calls us to tell the fun story.
The brawl at the hospital went into the newspaper since the police to it as an ambush.
Fun fact, Cunt tried to sue me for the k.o. while it was colleague A who broke his hand latter that night.
I do boxing.
Its the best one to build endurance and the only fighting style that you can use on 1+ people
Its funny because we have a lot of people who come from karate and judo and they all suck ass.
Boxing/muay thai + bjj/judo/wrestling
Look up yuki nakai. Eye gouges aren't the fight stopper you think they are m8
No martial art is good vs multiple opponents. Some are just less bad.
What martial art is this?
probably hapkido, aikido's even more retarded cousin
So I can take this and let cute girls tie me up? Where do I sign up?
>my fucking face when i found out this month a pair of blonde twins with thicc-fit body and amazon tier legs n quads just sign up into my bjj gym and insist on rolling vs other men
W-what do brahs??
Let her knock you out with BRAP submissions
pics
>*stuffs your takedown*
>*because of all his grappling experience which is heavily accented by BJJ*
Huh, I guess BJJ really is the most dominant martial art available right now. This really makes me think.
Well no shit about judo it’s a grappling sport,
is that a scar under right cheek from the implant?
Where do I find a qt martial artist gf?
American Kenpo is the best martial art. Literally only deals in real world cenarios.
That's true, but it's one of the problems with Kenpo: too much practical, not enough theoretical. All the theoretical has to come from other martial arts. When there are no other martial arts, there will be nothing to inspire it.
It will then be omnite.
Muay thai. I like starting beef with people over instagram for lulz
I box. You can say it's "limited" but the fact you only use your hands is what makes it great. I think it makes for much smarter defense and footwork, which gives me more chances to get away from someone attacking me.
When you ask which martial art is best for a "street fight" (lol), everyone assumes the goal is to wreck your opponent, which inevitably focuses the discussion on offense and striking hard. As someone who's had to fight off muggers, I can tell you this mindset is wrong. If you have somebody trying to attack you, your only goal should be to get away unharmed. You were not born to get stabbed by some rando over 30 dollars in your wallet.
Boxing is a great thing to know if you're worried about multiple people. It's relatively simple and the footwork you learn allows you to face your opponent at all times. There's also lots of striking from weird angles, while moving backwards, which is incredibly useful if you want to get away from a mugger. Just my two cents
Oh boy, bjj fag with no hands vs some skinny faggot who can't fight.
I said backwoods wrestling me and my cousins and brothers would all wrestle.
We had a style that was one part wrasslin one part highschool wrestling with some stuff we picked up from martial arts movies added on top.
I could put someone in a chokehold and choke them out in seconds as a kid.
Anyhow, you're thinking that you're going to be fighting a completley untrained compliant person when there is a good chance that this peson has wrestling experience and has seen enough martial arts to know what you're going to do.
And biting is a thing dude.
You have to watch out for that..
this has to be bait/ a meme for krav maga to be so high

LOL get a load of this fag. It's like im back on old /asp/
not to mention putting kyokushin on the same level as fucking kenpo
Everyone in the thread should read the book " Meditations on violence "
Martial arts often doesn't equal self defense. Way more to it.

muay thai
i box for fun, have done for about three yrs, and have had full thai rules mt fight and a k-1 kickboxing fight
i just box as a hobby and to keep fit
streetfighting is a waste of time and can be avoided in prettymuch ALL instances lols chill
I train at an MMA gym and all of our coaches are UFC fighters with solid records. Each class focuses on a specific discipline and is taught by a specialist in that discipline.
So we have boxing taught by someone who transitioned from boxing to MMA. Muai Thai taught by a Thai guy who used to compete professionally in Thailand and BJJ taught by a blackbelt who has been competing for 19 years.
We do a lot of sparring and the sessions are brutally intense. Especially the Muai Thai. The guy is an absolute demon fucking sadist who really pushes you to your limit.
Overall, boxing is my favourite and what I would focus on probably because it favours my build. Any form of martial art is better than nothing though.
I've noticed that people generally stop thinking about dumb shit like "streetfights" after they get some noob gainz in a legit combat sport. 99% of male on male violence is hierarchical, basically posturing, and easy to avoid if you just use your brain. The remaining 1% predatory violence, it almost always includes a weapon, so you really need a gun to defend yourself.
>with some stuff we picked up from martial arts movies added on top.
So basically you and your highschool buddies fucked around in the woods. Also wrestling doesn’t train for direct chokeholds usually
Ive been training bjj for a few months now and there's a 120lb girl who is way better than me that I sometimes roll with and I often have to tell her to stop because I'm getting a boner
I have literally never been in a proper fight in my life, picking a martial art seems like a huge pain, for starters if you just pick one for self defense you gotta pick multiple instead because there's not one martial art that includes proper grappling and striking for real life street situations except obscure russian or asian ones that have no good schools or dojos where I live.
Boxing seems to be the most direct and easy to pick up but also hardest to master and excel, plus I don't want to get punched in the skull and destroy my teeth or jaw or nose or give myself brain problems.
BJJ seems easy to practise and there's no striking so little damage can occur but it also seems useless in most real life situations.
Wrestling seems better than BJJ but BJJ fags keep telling me that wrestling is useless in the street so idk what the fuck to pick up.
Camping skills, military endurance, knife, axe and rifle.
Backstep quick draw squeeze trigger.
Wrestling isn’t useless, but it lacks ways to straight up break an opponent. Good takedowns and strength, but it doesn’t have things like chokes and almost all shoulder, leg and elbow pins are pretty much banned. As a solo grappling martial art is say older style judo is the best due to have decent standing game with throws and takedowns + pins, chokes and locks, but a guy who has BJJ groundwork + wrestling takedowns would wreck shit.
T.1 year boxing currently doing judo
