Push press kinda sucks because it’s hard to tell when your litttle pushto get you started becomes a full-fledged snatch-like launch. It’s hard to put a restriction on the amount of degrees you allow your knees to bend.
Rippetoe’s Press 2.0 is unironically GOAT for this reason, the hip motion limits itself.
