I did this for a while then my jaw basically disconnected and locked out of place... it took almost a day to get it back where it should be. Eating became a major chore that was painful. I decided then to just cheat and grow a beard.

you really don't need to. your jaw/chin is fine. it looks like you have a slight underbite on right. it's probably a placebo/or they're looking because you look stupid jutting it out. trust me, i got from deformed weak chin with overbite to somewhat normal when i jut mine. whereas you got from normal/decent to too much chin.
