>fall for the .8 - 1g/lb of bw protein meme >recovery isnt as strong >always hungry >muscles dont feel as 'hard' >all of a sudden eat 252g of protein one day >do it the next, for 2 weeks >feel and look way better
When did you realize this low protein meme was pushed by a bunch of low test vegan fake natties that use steroids to cope with their lack of protein intake
>take any advice Jow Forums gives you >do the opposite Just come here for the memes

>not eating 1g/lb or even 1.2g/lb when bulking >1g-1.4g/lb when cutting

who this?

It's a gram per kg not a gram per lb (and still isn't accurate) don't destroy your metabolism with meme diets
Logan Hill
it's 2g protein per kg, it's also a good insurance range to make sure you don't undereat protein nor overeat. you can go higher when cutting to preserve lean body mass

The fitness industry is mostly just trying not to get sued and will sacrifice optimal progress toward a goal for minimal risk of injury or health issue. That much protein is awful for your kidneys and if you aren't getting a lot of fiber, enjoy those painful and uncomfortable shits from a large intestine filled with stuff that isn't hard enough to push out.
eat more carbs instead, you're literally eating expensive sugar if you're eating that much protein lmao the reason why you feel better on much higher protein intakes is because your body is fucking wrecking your muscle proteins in order to obtain glucose, if you just eat more carbs instead you automatically fix that issue. Nitrogen balance muscle protein balance studies show this cosntantly in mammals. Pigs overfed on protein have higher muscle protein synthesis throughout the day that's true, but the problem is that their muscle protein breakdown is heavily upregulated as well in order to compensate with the enormous surplus of protein, so they just end up at a slight positivemuscle protein balance. While pigs overfed on carbs have lower muscle protein breakdown and synthesis, and their muscle protein balance is the same as the pigs overfed on protein.
Also, post body.

you dont need to go crazy on carbs either, lifting doesnt deplete glycogen stores. 40-50% seems to be the best range for the general public
Jason Jenkins
So basically balance it out and use common sense. That seems hard :^)
Jaxon Martinez
yeah it's really hard, same as far as "diets" go. there's a reason the mediterranean diet is regarded as the/one of the best since it's really balanced.
only time you should go on crazy protein(2g/kg+) values is when you're cutting, and that's for 4-6 weeks on an agressive approach.
This has to be bait right? How do steroids make up for not enough protein. You need to eat even more when you are on roids you fucking monkey. You prolly just didnt eat enough calories.
Mason Cox
This. Pic related, how muscle protein balance works in mammals like pigs. Carbs prevent muscle protein breakdown from occuring as much, while protein overfeeding increases muscle protein breakdown, you actually benefit very very little from overeating protein.
pigs aren't fucking humans doing compound movements & exercising. What's with this autism that just because we're mammals we're completely interlinked. Here's an actual study on HUMANS who did WEIGHTLIFTING and ate high protein and gained more muscle mass. Humans aren't pigs, high protein works. Bros win, game over.
>"Consuming a high protein diet (3.4 g/kg/d) in conjunction with a heavy resistance-training program may confer benefits with regards to body composition. Furthermore, there is no evidence that consuming a high protein diet has any deleterious effects."
not the dude you replied but 3.4g/kg will fuck up your other macros which are important like I said before, for people lifting weights best is a 40-50% carb range, fats can be from 20-30% and the rest protein. the adjusments depends on the persons lifting experience, and goals(cutting/bulking)
WIL videos are indeed informative, however he only posts whatever meme diet is currently popular. He literally says in his OMAD video “calories don’t matter.” I can guarantee you he isn’t doing OMAD anymore.

This. OP will get kidney stones eventually.

And the memes aren't even that supreme

Isn't too much protein bad for your liver?

You only get protein-formed kidney stones if you are retarded about your hydration, and don't regularly consume some acidic foods. The water pushes the shit out before it has the chance to form and a more balanced urine pH prevents the crystallizing
