You normally do chest and legs on the same day? That sounds like a rough day! Try looking into a 3-5day split and let me know what You think of that. That's what most people do!

Leg press, Quad machine, the usual.
I skipped legs for almost two years, I call leg day penance for skipped days.

calves genetic or what do you do for them?
They've always been thick but I think that was just fat as I've always been 20% Or higher. I usually do calf raises with whatever weight I'm leg pressing at the end of each set so about 5 x 12 of that and then just two of the life fitness calf machines the gym has.
