Very bad. Rep doesn't count.
Your body has to be straight and you must not move your hips.

Nigga you mean incline bench?

Rippetoes student

its not a competition lift so there’s no point in cheating the rep

Do bench press beforehand to fatigue your front delt, that way you don’t gain anything by leaning back and will train the whole shoulder more evenly

Is this bad?

My grip is shoulder width

I don’t think he’s actually trying to “press” here. The comments suggest he’s aware he’s leaning back and doesn’t give a shit, but we know he knows what correct press form is.

Snap city. Thats an upward benchpress lol

>very bad
no
>no movement of the hip
Also no. I seriously doubt you OHP much at all, because you have nonclue what you're talking about

He does that in all his press videos

my nigga its 3 fucking plates overhead and you're gonna try to downplay it cause it doesn't meet your specifications for a strict press?

So i lower weight and focus on form? Where should grip be?

It's fine. Just train progressively so you don't jump to a weight you can't handle.

The press has long allowed for a lean and hip drive. It's only the legs that can't help.

How am I downplaying it? I'm just saying that's how he always presses. That's how they did it when it was an olympic lift, and that's pretty much how you wanna do it if you wanna push serious weight.

Lower the weight, yeah. A little lean is okay but probably not that much. Grip is directly in front of your shoulders.

Idk, that’s weird. I feel like Rip would take issue with it but he receives 1-on-1 coaching, so I’m gonna give chase the benefit of the doubt.

depends where you're at

30 degrees is ok. People who say otherwise probably press the bar at most

I can't ohp the empty bar and I'm doing stronglifts
what do I do

Be 18. unless you are disabled, or under 5ft woman, you should be able to do 30lbs with both hands. If you can't, goto the doctor before you ever step back in the gym. Unironically.

I'm a skinlet, I weigh 50kg
I can do all the other things fine though I'm not disabled I'm sure

Reminder that the press is no longer an olympic lift, in no small part due to lean and hip drive.

t. ohplet

Just raise your arms up in the air 5x5 times

What is a dumbell

categorically incorrect.

yeah some asianbro saw me goofing it up and showed me the dumbbells

not sure what I'm supposed to be doing with them though

Nope. It's fine. Just make sure to bring your head and torso forward as soon as the bar clears your head. Squeeze your glutes to keep your hips tucked too.

Increase your your strength with DB ohp until you can do 5x5 with 20lb in each hand. You should be able to do the bar by then.

plz eat

t. fell for the '60kg for 5 is strong' meme

Underrated and misunderstood

I Got that covered! I Think it is my hips that make it look bad

Press them over your head

>skinlet, I weigh 50kg
what the fuck is a skinlet? you don't have skin? your skin is too short?

it means I'm skinny
ok thanks

Grip is your choice. I've found that holding the bar just outside of shoulder width is best for me in terms of stability, bracing and it just feel natural. My friend is pressing with a really wide grip (almost with bench grip) and it feels natural for him. He tried my grip and I tried his and we came to the conclusion above. Wider grip trains your side delts, while close one focuses more on a anterior head.

correct grip width will create a vertical forearm with the elbow slightly in front of the bar with triceps tight against the lats.
"do what feelz good" is shit advice, and changing around grip width will not change the effect of the involved musculature.

Then you're all good, from what I can see from the side view. Now just stop stacking a bunch of 10's or else people will think you're an idiot who can't do plate math.

Haha i wish i could, but Then i an going to hit the ceilling

Oh shit, no kidding. Fair 'nuff.

how much is that? your shoulders look good but you look like you're struggling with 1pl8 or something.

Its 60 kg and it s my last rep of 2. Set number 7. Previously i was Working with 62,5 5x5. So i was pretty gased out

You do not
>Curve your torso
>Bend Knees
You can
>Flex glutes to hinge back

Holy shit this might be my problem.

That's called a "standing incline bench press", not OHP.

not him, but it's fine if you lean back and use hip movement. Just don't call it a strict press. Layback press is fine
t. 190lb strict press at 170

This

You can press like Larry where you use your massive back as a bench and are basically standing incline pressing OR you can be Klokov and be the God of strict press

Fuck that. You have really bad form. You should do them seated, in a chair so your back is forced to stay straight.

>you look like youre struggling with 1pl8
So what?

wtf you talking about, he just has to practice form. he wont hit abdominal and serratus when seated the same way t. brainlet.

>he doesn't do standing bench press

Attached: da-press3.jpg (245x427, 28K)

klokov is the dude with the best ohp form i've ever seen, dude does 160kg strict press without bending his back at all

Not joking but that picture is from my gym.

Aarhus, right?

holy fucking shit my guy thanks for the ego boost

>it means I'm skinny
So you mean skincel?

Yeah i went there once, when did i start working out there
