it's expensive
The next indoor climbing is far away and expensive and I am lazy and poor.
I'm too fat and weak and poor and not cool enough to have a fun hobby and cute girls scare me
Busy with other sports, still do it occasionally since it’s fun
twink activity for gay twinks
now excuse me ladies, it's zercher shrug day so i need to eat some preworkout ham
Cannot into heights. Low center of gravity. Not cheap.
I do, and it's fun, but I fucked up my hands so I've been out of it for about a week now
expensive
How much where you live ?
Actually just started last week. Still a bit overweight (despite already dropping 57kg) and a beginner so it's been hard but a lot of fun.
Luckily we have two places for climbing at our uni (one for bouldering and one for top/lead rope climbing) so for under a 100€ per semester I can go climbing whenever I want. Also managed to cop some cheap shoes, although it would've been possible to keep using loan shoes for free too.
Because im not a lanklet twink. The same goes for cave exploring.

Its in Nazi but you will get it.
9 months in, 3 times a week, fun af, social, and mad gains.
im poor and just sneak in its easy
not sure but besides that the only places near me have only about like 2 floors of length
i see youre living it
my gym had a $269 special for 6 months, and the February special next year is like $475 for 12 months. a harness is $100 for top rope climbing, my shoes were $75 and my chalk bag was $20. cheap as fuck to get into and super fun. my gym has both bouldering and lead climbing. The highest wall there is 63'
But I do.
I don't really like bouldering though because my crash pad sucks and every place near me is on super uneven ground so it hurts.
>Expensive
It's literally free in 95% of places. If you're near a place with bolts you just need a rope, harness, shoes, and set of slings and carabeiners.
Probably $260 and it will last years. You're kind of fucked if you don't live near rock. Gyms are only $50-60 a month, not too bad though.
Bouldering all you need is a pad and shoes. If you get the pad used it's cheap as fuck. I've broken my ankel very badly and elbow bouldering though. Pads really don't do dick at decent heights.
You should be able to get a harness that is good for most top rope, sport, and trade leads from Black Diamond for $40 or so, and they'll last 5 years if you lead fairly often, 10 on top rope. Only way you really need expensive ones and to replace frequently is if you're climbing multiple times a week year round and taking whippers a lot.
If you do trad and avoid falls you don't really wear it out much.
I do, it's fun AF. I supplement it with hot bikram yoga. Want to get into top rope next, then go outdoors as I've only climbed at my local gym.
> No fatties allowed
I boulder every week and there are a few fatter guys that are good and can at least do the medium-hard routes fine.
People carrying a lot of bulk muscle don't do well.
>100€ per semester
yikes

I really like that picture, mind if I save it?
