me, I got gym bullied
>decided to do a deadlift session despite hip pain, sleeping like shit and spending my whole day walking around and sitting
>thought I would make the best of shitty conditions and come out on top like I usually do on deadlift days for some reason
>go to gym (first session in an actual gym, used to be homegym masterrace)
>expecting 215kg easy double and then some singles, maybe another double (should've gotten it easy as I'm regaining strength I lost during summer)
>only manage 3 hard as fuck singles
>after first single, brad curlbro tells me to stop because I'm making too much noise, obviously trying to be intimidating
>tell him "y-yeah, whatever", don't say anything because he's a brad and also I don't want to get into a whole thing
>seems irrationally angry, in retrospect he might just have been mad about getting outlifted by some dyel
>mfw I just got gym bullied
>keep deadlifting but it's on my mind and I can't make that double
>try doing rows
>weak as fuck
>try doing shrugs

>whole episode makes me mad as fuck, normies looking at me and I can't even feel like "fuck them I'm stronger" because I'm having a weak as fuck session

I just feel like shit right now. Depressed. I don't know why but having such an awful session made all the bad shit resurface. I don't understand why I was so weak. I just want to have "fuck you" strength, you know. Like I can just laugh at anyone who says anything to me at the gym. I'm probably the strongest deadlifter at this gym (commercial gym, and powerlifting isn't really a thing here) but the gap is not big enough for me to just smile in those normies' faces.

Also could it be that the flex of the bar is making it harder? The bar I have in my homegym doesn't flex at all (28mm bar, the kind you buy at a hardware store) and getting an actual oly bar off the floor felt foreign.

On the plus side some demure looking qt looked at me.

Why do people complain about noise in the gym? I go in and put my earbuds in within 5 mins of entering and don't take them out until I leave so I never realize how quiet it is until I take them out because all I hear is SCUUUUMMMM GAAAAAANGGGG for an hour straight. Then I take them out and I can hear weights clanging and shit. It also makes me insecure because I know there are people who lift without earbuds and can probably hear me grunting loud and my shoulders popping when I do facepulls and lat raises. Why do people unironically lift without earbuds?

Idk I do that as well but even if you don't have earbuds what the fuck do you expect in a gym? go to a library or something. plus the gym has that 'bouncy floor' area which is clearly and explicitly designed for deadlifts. All the normies were giving me this hostile look, like I somehow ruined their day.

Explain to him calmly that deadlifting 4pl+ quietly is a really fucking bad idea if you value your lower back and spine at all, DLs aren't exactly the time of exercise where you go for prolonged excentrics for dat pump & hypertrophy.

He is probably just mad that some manlet is pulling x3 of what he is brobenching, and that his lanklet frame & nolegz program means he probably struggles with DLing what he benches.
