Clubs

So I am a new student at Uni and I have to make a choice between joining the rugby club (which meets every day) or joining a martial arts club (which meets three times a week) and a social club (which meets twice a week).
So its rugby vs martial arts and social. Which one is more Jow Forums? which one will give the most overall gains in confidence, fun, and obviously muscle? advice?

rugby obviously lmao

Listen man, if i could change anything from my past is rugby. I fucked my back big time. You WILL get injured, constantly. Crippling, disabling injuries. Broken arm, broken hip, broken knee, broken this, broken that. There is not a single experienced player who has never gone under injury. Half the time you're injured and you can't even train. It's really entertaining and all, but the fun stops when you get your herniated disc.
All sports, especially combat sports go hard on the body, but none like rugby.
If you like tackling and such, do wrestling. Much more alpha, since it is you and your enemy. No team to back you up. Its only you and your strength.
Martial arts is also taxing, but not as much. So I'd go for the ma and social head first

>social club
Twice a week.
I laughed.
But for the club, personally I would go the martial arts, since it’s not everyday you are able to have study time and get cool moves to show them how to and get them into the their a.

However, the social club could give you more social gains as the name implies.
It’s up to you on the way back to my house head to the church.

Rugby will get you fat and socially dead. Do martial arts or powerlifting

t. was shit at rugby in PE

Ballroom dancing soc. Loads of shy qts you get to throw about. Your cock gains will be massive.

Oh yeah, also you learn to dance.

ive heard that before but if I were to joint the rugby club I would probably just be on the "B" team since I am new and my guess is since im somewhat smaller and faster I would be in a wing position so less strain on the back. Are injurys common even at lower levels and for more speed based positions?

Alota people recomend salsa club for that reason so I might join that. But dont you think the fraternal side to a club sport is better in the long term then maybe meeting one or 2 qts in the short term?

Rugby is Chad af and if your school is any good can help you meet girls, but the wear and tear on your body can be more than is worth it.

If you're in America just try to join a frat and do whatever else you want to on top of that. Only dumb plebs will tell you not to at least check out the Greek scene.

If thats what your looking for then team sports might be better than ma. I did ma at uni (then later taught a class at one) and it wasnt hugely social. Few people going to the bar after sessions, that was about it. In my experience can get good freinds out of it, but not like with team sports.

...

>Rugby will get you fat and socially dead.
Literally the exact opposite of what rugby does, kek

>Listen man, if i could change anything from my past is rugby. I fucked my back big time. You WILL get injured, constantly. Crippling, disabling injuries. I play rugby, you're full of shit

Which ever you are the most willing to put effort into. None of them will make you better by themselves, you have to put some effort in. There are skinny and weak people who play rugby just fine, you need to choose the activity that makes you take the steps necessary to reach those goals.

the rugby guys at my school had good parties
i would find out which club had the best parties and do that, user

>Are injurys common even at lower levels and for more speed based positions?
Injuries happen because of bad positioning and body posture in rucks, scrums and tackles. In the rucks they happen because people have poor mobility or end up positioned in such away that their knee gets tackled when they are trying to get the ball out.

In the scrums they happen because a lot of forwards are idiots who refuse to attain a high range of motion for their hip flexors, and this prevents them from getting into a low and stable position and makes the scrum dangerous.

In tackles it is very rare with serious injuries, and they happen because people neglect mobility training and poorly balanced muscle balance makes them injury prone.

Rugby player here. Also played American football in college before quitting and joining my Uni's club. Rugby is crazy fun and got me in the best shape I've been in awhile. There are risks to your body like most sports. I tore my pec last season but compared to football I see a lot less injuries, including concussions. I've made great friends through rugby and have met plenty of qts. Give it a shot, if you don't like it then don't do it.

t.FUDding burger

To be clear I see less injuries in rugby than I did playing football

If you're a genuine nutter who can handle (and enjoy) the banter, bruises, drunken hazing and homoerotic horseplay in the changing rooms, pick rugby.

If you want to do light cardio and possibly improve your fighting ability (not guaranteed) go for martial arts.

Of course you shouldn't let pussy away your decisions but you will meet LOTS more women through martial arts and social soc than rugby. If you're already in a relationship then that may not be so big a factor.

cool moves to show them how to and get them into the their a.

I knew a few rugby players at uni, they were all bulked up with a bunch of bodyfat, the ones that stopped and just worked out looked way better within a few months. And it might not actually make you socially dead, but unless you’re on the uni team you probably won’t get any pussy from it, and the time investment makes it harder to have a social life. The team aspect is probably a plus though

>they were all bulked up with a bunch of bodyfat
Strongly depends on what position you play
>unless you’re on the uni team you probably won’t get any pussy from it
Played in school, got plenty of girls and friends from it

Is it possible to get into sports in college without having played them in high school?
I don't have long till I'm off to uni and I regret not having played one.

Yeah pretty sure you can be on the squad and train with them etc... but it's unlikely you'll get any match time if you're shite and your team is serious

Rugby is one of the most social clubs you can join at most unis. You'd be invited to party's and nights out all the time. If that's your thing go for it.
I'm thinking of joining the MMA club to compliment lifting and I think I'm too autistic to fit in with rugby lads.

>rugby makes you fat and powerlifting makes you skinny durr
What are you doing with your life?

Rugby includes both

Depends in the "martial art"

Join the social you retard. Those clubs will give you no gains, no girls, and not a lot of friends. You want to be as social as possible in uni. Anybody who says anything else is a loner retard, who probably wants to kill himself. Social clubs will have drinking, parties, and you will have friends. Just do the social.
