Don't feel too down, my roommate had that job....your not missing out. No matter how fast / well you work it is never enough, and a few lazy people on your team can bring your whole performance down in the eyes of management. As for me I have applied for 10 jobs as a California State employee, with no response yet. These jobs very from anything from DMV worker to freeway landscaper. If I can get my foot in the door at a state job, my pay / benefits will be totally worth it. I have been a NEET since January of this year, living off savings...I wonder how much longer I can keep it up before I go broke. I don't wanna go back to working construction....that is a fate far worse than death. The work itself isn't bad, I don't mind physical labor / working with my hands, but the people that work in construction...God, dealing with them is a fate worse than death. Usually just a bunch of drug addicted alcoholics, that always complain about how much they hate their wives and kids. Aside from beer, football, and how hungover they are, they can't hold a conversation about anything. Pray for me, Lord knows I need it.

Garden stores, garden supply, or place like ACE Hardware are the places to be. I've worked at about 5 places, but when I landed the garden supply job i've never wanted to leave it. Pay aint great but it's enough, and a solid place to be.

No, been in my job for a couple of years now. Before that i used to always fail at the interview stage. I didn't even pass the interview for mcdonalds. I got lucky with my current job as it was an older guy who was nice who interviewed me so i wasn't anxious and manged to not sperg out for the 10 or so minutes the interview was.

Sometimes, part of what I love is the variety. Some days I get to help people with finding stuff to help plants grow, some days I get to go out and take care of the flowers and trees. I feel like all in all, it'd be hard to find a better job for me.

Reach for some of the weirder places you wouldn't normally think about when considering low-level wagie work. consider some random places like Bass Pro, or hardware stores, or even Office Depot. Random places usually look for 'random' people.
