doing high intensity cardio before hitting the weights it is indeed bad, this is because your body is driving blood to the organs that needs it the most, in this case the lungs for example, so trying to force the blood into the muscle you are working becomes inefficient, however it is a good thing to do very light cardio, just to promote the bloodflow in the body, this will help to drive the blood to the desired muscle group more effectibly, you drive the blood then by doing various warm up sets before doing your working sets, with the warm up set you will already hit a pump, so by the time you do your working set you're already at your strongest for the sessions, then after your workouts, you have to stretch, if you do cardio, wich you should, to get a good effect that doesn't get in the way of your lifting, you should do hitt on a separate session and lastly at home, to promote faster recovery, you should do a ligth cardio and calisthenics routine, nothing to intense just to promote bloodflow.
Ok, so they say don't do heavy cardio before lifting, and they also say rest on your day between lifting workouts... so when should you so heavy cardio?
{Lift - rest - cardio : ?
you have various options, you can do cardio after your lifting, or do it later in the day, or do it on your rest day, 10 min of hiit workouts are not enough to get you to the point of exaustation, also cardio is going to increase the speed of your recovery
…there is an idea of Jow Forums, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory, and though I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: I simply am not there.
Usually my cardio isn't high intensity, but it's 30-40 minutes of cycling. At the lower bound of heart thumping, but not heaving breath or exhaustion by any rate. Is that still ok for rest day?
yes, as long as its not too intense or gets you to the point of fatigue is fine, however you should add atleast 2 day where you do hiit cardio for about 10 mins, you can do it after your lifting, and on rest days that type of cardio is good for promoting recovery,
i love cardio, I hate lifting
I wish it was the opposite.
Cardio gets me amped up.
I'm the opposite and get out of breath from a set of squats lol
Imma die young
this when im doing cardio i just imagine running for my life like some tiger is chasing me and my village is getting pillaged or some shit
That's how rugby players tend to train tho familia
I always did my lifting first than my cardio
Same, lately during my runs I imagine primitive animal hunting on foot with spears and shit. That last 100 yards when im full stride and about to eat some flesh is pretty exhilarating
Fuck i want to go run now
What about doing mild 15 min stationary bike cardio between sets , for 45 min total?
Warm up sets is cardio faget
Nah mate, i got the same thing and i'm pretty sure i'll live to be 100.
I do a 10 minute doable intensity walk-to-jog-to-walk before and a more intense jog after lifting, what are your thoughts on that?
i do a fullbody A/B 3x pw, with 2x sprints/rowing/accessories pw, 1x sparring pw.
I find doing my accessories after 40 mins HIIT cardio on my sprints/rowing day works perfectly fine for me.
I wouldn't do it before my fullbody workout though.
I do it to warm up, sometimes I get really bad headaches during lifting when I dont
So is the typical warming about not doing cardio on your rest days just an excuse to be lazy used by curlbros?
My gym is 2.5km away. I walk 0.5km and run 2km before I lift.
Works fine for me desu. I am a dyel lanklet manlet beginner though, so my input may not be the most useful.
t.fat fuck
sound good desu
yes, also by people who don't lift
At least you're honest, I appreciate that.
Are you serious?
>lanket manlet
so 6'0 tall bro?, me too

Seems to work for Dwayne. Its almost like the body is adaptable.
>doing cardio
Worse. 5'10"
It’s bad but I do it because cardio pumps me up and gets me in that mood to push myself and body. If I do weights first I just get annoyed because I don’t get lost in it like I do when I I do cardio first.
Good to know, thanks for the feedback user.
