Ok Fitness. Fat fag here. I'm convinced on turning my life around before I start college in the spring

Ok Fitness. Fat fag here. I'm convinced on turning my life around before I start college in the spring.
I'm 5"9, 230. Obviously terrible.

I bought a gym membership today but I have to uber there and back everyday. ($20 each time) And I barely make any money. So I'd be able to go 4-6 times thru 2 weeks or around 10 times per month. Will this even do anything? I'm dieting also. So I'm just curious if I'm wasting my money or if I can legitimately turn my life around by going around 10 times a month+dieting and shit. I plan on running a mile to start the day off, then weight training or cycling or whatever then running another mile before I leave.

Anything I should change? Extra shit I should do? Or is going only 10 times a month just wasting my money for me and won't help me? I'd like to get down to at least 200 by spring if that's possible.

You fucked up. You would be far better off just fixing your diet until you go to college then working out once you get there.

You could enter college at 170 lbs easy without ever lifting a weight or doing a pushup.

buy a bike instead of the cardio and uber rides. also do ss or 5x5 stronglifts

Why not just save up for a bike instead of ubering, that at least takes care of your cardio.

Do you have a bike you can ride there instead? That would be far healthier and smarter than paying for a ride

Focus on your diet. You can go jogging outside without needed to spend all that money on the gym.
And for the love of God avoid the hell out of planet fitness. They'll do everything in their power to keep you an unmotivated fatass so you'll pay for your membership without using their facilities.

About the Bike, I'd definitely be down for that but as far as I know the only way I can get to the gym is on a highway. I do walk to work everyday though, which is about a 15 minute walk there and back if that helps anything.

I walk a decent amount surprisingly. I love walking but I never walk without a purpose which I need to start doing.

Any tips at the actual gym since I fucked up and bought a membership already? Diet tips or anything? I know y'all aren't personal assistants but shit I'd literally take nearly any advice at this point

Just tape a "new driver" sign on your back and cycle down the side lane.

>About the Bike, I'd definitely be down for that but as far as I know the only way I can get to the gym is on a highway
How is that possible?

Pick a routine and stick to it. it really is that simple.

You can also look at google maps to find a bicycle way that leads to your gym. If you think that biking there and back multiple times a week sounds hard you could take the easy way and buy an e-bike.

sidenote: Read the sticky faggot

Live in a small city, gym is in another city close by but only way to get there is by the highway. I probably sound about dumb as fuck explaining this but I'm retarded so bare with me here man

Nah it's not that bikings hard. I probably am the most athletic big guy I have ever seen. I play sports a lot, walk a lot etc but I had a surgery that stopped me from doing all that and now am trying to get back into shape.

I legitimately don't think there's a biking route to the gym from where I live. I'll Google tho cus if there is I'm deffo doing that rather than getting raped by uber

No no that makes sense now. You could do yourself a lot of good by using a pull up bar and some gym rings instead, and doing sprints 2-3 times a week

>Live in a small city,

that's enough from you

Don't over do the running regarding times per week, you'll fuck up your knees.
never forget warm up and stretching.
you might want to just want to dl p90x and buy some dumbbells (cheaper than ubering to the gym) and you can still get good results.

You can't tell Dubs that's enough. Dubs tell you when it's enough.

It's not just the running in worried about though. Like I could honestly barely care less even about the money if it helps get me in shape. That's what I'm worried about tho. Is 10 times a month to lose ANY weight? Or would I just be going pointless? I'm really new to learning fitness shit so I have no clue.

3 times a week is the perfect amout for a beginner so stop worrying about that. read the sticky for information on diet and routine advice.

I wish you luck

Thanks user. I'm reading the sticky now too it's got some good shit in it.
As long as the 3 or so times a week sounds good I'm definitely going to stick to it. And hell I'm going to most likely be going even more occasionally when someone gives me a ride but I'm telling myself 3 to be on the safe side.
Thanks for the good luck wishes man

10 times a month is enough as long as you are dedicated and make sure to eat right as well.
40/30/30 macro is considered good but make sure you get plenty of leafy greens and other cruciferous veggies(soaked in lemon juice to reduce oxalates) and minimize sugar intake. You can try keto/paleo/bulletproof as well but make sure you refeed carbs once a week since staying in keto all the time degrades perfomance.
Consider some digestive enzymes to maximize your protein synthesis as well as processing of carbs and fats.

>bought gym membership
>have to uber, $20 each time
>barely make any money

Damn son. One of the main things of building the fitness life is being able to practice consistently. You just turned money into a barrier, not only you have to build the discipline and use your willpower to go lift when you don't feel like it, you're gonna accept the money spent just in transportation.

Dude, unbuy that membership and go for something that's easier to go to.

And fix your diet. Belly is make in the kitchen.

Fucking hell that guy posts on Jow Forums like every other day and never listens to anyone.

>Hurr durr how do I leave this town
>oopsies I did some drugs I couldn't resist
>This town is shitty
>I hate this town

Lose weight and do bodyweight exercise. That will go a long way. You can then probably work out free at school.

That’s a huge waste of money. Buy some dumbbells, do body workouts and lay off the pizzas.

Why the fuck did you bought a membership of a gym that far from your home? Cancel it and search for another one not that far. If its the only one take the bus, youre making excuses before even starting. Youre not gonna make it with that attitude. Im a old faggot who suffers from social anxiety, i would pay 50 bucks every day to go to the gym without suffering anxiety attacks. I would run/bike for hours just to dont feel anxiety. Dont make excuses

This is depressing.

1. Losing weight is 90% diet, 10% workout. Diet diet diet. Don’t cheat yourself. Anytime you eat junk, you’re hurting yourself. Be smart.

2. Yes, it’s possible to lose 30 pounds by spring

3. Always remember step 1

4. Remember to have fun. You’re supposed to be enjoying yourself. It’s fun to watch the fat shed off and watch the new beautiful person emerge

5. Remember step 1

6. Remember step 1

OP here. I suffer from social anxiety also so I relate. However I wasn't making excuses, I dead ass forgot about the bus. When I figure out the closest bus route there I'll do that for sure. I'm committed as fuck
